Showing off is said to be a fool's sense of glory. That is certainly true in the sport of boxing. A split-second mental slip can have terrible consequences. It's always interesting to witness showboating fail badly in combat sports, whether it's due to a little dancing during the fight, trash talk in the ring, or during the weigh-in. Without further ado, here are the times when arrogant Fighters were destroyed by their opponents.

"Broke his jaw in multiple places and sideline him for a year" that was so satisfying to hear
fanta imagine being that mad over a comment. Would you like to cry more kiddo?
Yo that kick was insane 😳
like seriously
Far yes I enjoyed that
Old man strength 💪
2:22 Christ that kick was vicious. I was thinking “there’s no way something didn’t break” and shortly after it says his jaw was broke in multiple places. Guy deserved it
Why would you tell Christ about this kick? Did you tell Muhammad too? Or hare Krishna?
@TheOtherMike Bet you’re fun at parties
@TheOtherMike I'm sure he did include all the top of the pop deitys. Just not one of them answered. Rude, but not unexpected.
It's funny how before he said "Drop dead" but it backfired and he dropped dead 😂
@TheOtherMike probably because he's not used to telling fictional characters about fights
Long wasnt being cocky, he was just being confident in himself. He didnt trash talk Mike or downplay his skills, he just thought he would be able to go the distance with him. He was very wrong mind you, but nah he wasnt bein cocky, just confident.
He was also legitimately Tyson's toughest opponent up to that point.
Yeah, I was like, what is this for? This is normal boxer repertoire. He doesn't even have to believe it. 😅
Well said. He was only saying that he thought his own skills could be as good as if not better than Tysons. And that he had a very good chance of victory. And if a fighter thinks that he doesn't have a good chance of winning he shouldn't take that particular fight period. There was no trash talk from Donnie Long.
@Mr. Nexor The fight lasted 90 seconds.
Knocked out , jaw broken in multiple places and sidelined for a year….that’s what you get for talking shit💯
He says "drop dead" gets dropped from a hit to the jaw. Sounds about right.
I thought that spinning kick killed that SOB!
He rich...more money than you
@Jaymaven so?
Seeing Mayorga not just knocked out, but put in excruciating pain from a liver shot, was just so freaking sweet.
How can you not love Mayorga he fought everyone and was always in action packed fights
Seeing him getting smacked by Oscar De La Hoya is also worth a watch.
Heel kick was brutal. Only bad part was he didn't get back up so he could get his jaw broke again. I can't stand cocky people.
I was thinking the same :)
'if we didn't know better, the term, Harvey hard guy. could've been resurrected
@Jineesh P R pod
I hate cocky men with every fiber of my being and learned quick they're just punks. I have been lucky in life to be able to put a few out Like a light. I get confident when they talk and as soon as I get close it's sleepy time for them.
Peter G. ducked that second left like he was already in ring mode! That was a seriously inspiring display of reaction speed.Nice takedown too for a boxer in casual suit attire…Yeah then the actual fight aftermath was just pure gold.
Weaved that shi so casual
@James Tatethat heel kick was some john wick shit
6:58 Mike Tyson's sidestep is vicious. If that right hook landed, that would have been one of the most iconic punches in all of boxing history.
Tyson is overrated. I've seen all his fights. At the beginning of his career. He only fought bums. He only beat 2 great fighters. Larry Holmes and Michael Spinks. And they were passed their prime. He lost against the young great fighters
@Rtsjunk Berbick was not great. And he went into the fight scared
@T Jones Did you see him right Mitch green?
I've seen Tyson fight live. When he was young and coming up, he was incredibly fast, slipping punches. Great fighter. You don't see it on television.
That dude really slapped dude’s GF butt…. C’mon, bro. That’s a new level of disrespectful.
That was part of the show, it was planned
@Cal El it was staged??? no fuckn way
In all fairness, Long wasn’t cocky towards Tyson. He was respectful. He still got wasted but most people did against Tyson
The only reason Mike Tyson started losing was because he got heavier into cocaine and drinking and his mind wasn't focused that's why he lost to Buster Douglas
@josef steiner Just so happens Douglas was dealing with his mom's passing which happened right before the fight iirc. He used it as motivation.
@DirtySouthJR exactly that's a deadly combination a fighter using his his mother's death as motivation to win which will only make him more stronger and Powerful versus someone that is not focused no wonder Tyson lost to Douglas
Except douglas, holyfield and Lewis
@josef steiner bullshit. He was never going to beat big heavy weights because his early knockouts for years removed many rounds of experience for mike. He wasnt on cocaine when evander pounded him unconscious
For those like me that were bullied at some point in our lives, this video is immensely satisfying 😌
Karma karma karma karma karma chameleon. 👍
Tommy Richardson Good advice.
@Nicholas TV Hey.
Everyone was bullied, everyone
Dude that fell hopping into the ring had me in tears
That was just part of his little schtick....trying to be funny
Brooo 😭😭😭😭
"I think I can outbox tyson" Legend has it that was the last thought he ever had
Yeah he regretted that statement
I don't think he was necessarily being cocky by saying that. Yes, he was wrong but when you compare him to some of the others in this clip, he was just saying what he thought was right. ....and they need to stop putting Mayorga in these clips. The guy is nothing but a clown in the ring.
@Sarah Rogers nothing in my comment stated he was being cocky
Looking at the interview and Long's face, I don't think even he believed the bullshit he was saying lol
@Sarah Rogers I said that too about Mayorga. Dude was and still is a clown. He couldn't box to save his fuckin life. He fights anyone with any real skill he gets the breaks beat off his ass.
6:20 This guy really wasn't that cocky. The entire pre-match phase is about getting into your opponents head, but most importantly to give the audience a good story to root for. Ratings are more important than the sport itself to the people writing paychecks to the boxers. What this guy said about Tyson was pretty mild compared to some of the shit I've heard.
Donny Long was just a little over confident in his skills. I wouldn’t say cocky and he definitely didn’t disrespect Tyson.
Yeah, other than Tyson = views, I don't see why Long was included. He acted confident, but not cocky. What was he supposed to say, "I think Tyson's gonna beat my ass,"?
Yes Long wasn't disrespectful to Mike like say Biggs was, but I'm sure 19 yr old Mike took it as a slight.
Yes, not disrespectful. He said he felt he could punch harder than Tyson. It may even be true, but it's a matter of connecting. Doesn't deserve to be in this video.
Agreed. He was just giving his assessment of his chances.
Mike at 19 was like a natural force of nature...all you can do is deal the best you can.
Broke his jaw in multiple places and sideline him for a year… hahaha… that dude was eating out of a straw for over a year and he will never be the same again.
Satisfying!
He went on to be one of the greatest kickboxers off all time
@mj teesside who the guy who broke his jaw or the guy eating out of a straw?
@Flash Light The guy eating out of a straw💪🏾
yeah LOVED that one
That "rolling thunder" to the jaw was brutal and deserved.
Seconds before I saw it on the video I was thinking, what kinda 💩 is this rolling thunder mess. Then it happened, and jacked dude up for a year and I was like, well ok then. Skippy flat deserved that. Hope he still can't eat right. Lil punk.
And highly hilarious
I can not stop laughing at Romero... Davis made him look like a pre-schooler...!
When I first saw the Davis-Romero fight, I thought Davis didn't need to mock him like that, but after seeing this, Romero had it coming.
@Jack Woods I outweigh Davis by 60 pounds and I wouldn't mess with him.
Yeah but why was that fight stopped… 100 percent suspect
8:28 I love how after tripping on the rope, he looks back at it deciding whether to go all gangsta on the rope.
That's one hilarious comment! That's what I was thinking too.
It was like Castor Oyl getting in the ring with Oxblood in Popeye the movie
This guy was just like "well I'm a terrible fighter and I'm gonna lose most of my fights so I'll try to make it seem like it's part of an act."
actions speaks louder than words. always stay humble
Rule No. 1 - Never get cocky. Rule No. 2 - Never drop your guard. Ask Goliath.
I live by a fast, hard rule: never get into a situation where I might get punched by Mike Tyson
Words to live by ✌️
I like his other saying everyone has a plan until they get hit.
This is a damn good rule. 👍🏿
The best thing about Tank knocking out Rolly is, it wasn't even a hard punch...just a perfectly timed punch. Knocked him out so cold, he was still wobbly leaving the ring!
My favorite one was that punk that got his jaw busted in multiple places . I laughed my ass off every time I watch it .
I had to repeat 🔁 over and over...I just laugh 🤣
6:15 Donnie Long wasn't cocky in the ring or the interview, you gotta believe you're better than your opponent, nothing cocky about that!!
Agree. He was even sounding polite.
That wasn’t Donnie long, that was Kevin Gates
@abbykako 🤣
Agreed
If you think you can hit harder than Tyson you are delusional not confident.
Romero talking shit about the other guys height and he's like half an inch taller than him,and he got his ass knocked out 😂😂😂
Why was that fight stopped 🤡
@Cd's Nutts He was outta there!
@Brandon Smith 😆
I want everyone to leave the ring healthy and able to live a good quality of life after boxing. Having said that, I’d of lost no sleep if Mayorga had ever been knocked out so badly he’d had to retire. He’s everything a boxer shouldn’t be, put simply just a s**ty human being.
i99.
You couldn’t tell how staged it was ? Lol
Heck of a boxer though
I was watching this fight live, couldn't believe it. Was definitely happy to see it happen though 😂
Hello
Damn the last dude went 12-31... like how are you going to show boat with that type of record 😆
When he smacked the cigarette from his mouth I died 🤣
You didn't though did you.
Man. That was precise aiming! Imagine if his fingertips would have nipped the other guys face 😬
The last dude is a real one. Dude doing push after being knocked out! 🤣
When I saw that I pictured a character from punchout doing that and actually bring k.o.😅
The saddest thing about Uzzy Ahmed is that he's still the most successful sportsman ever to come out of Derby.
That kick looks fuckin deadly but also super easy to stop if youre focused enough. But god damn that would hurt lmao
At 6:09.....that was THE most fake reaction from a body shot I've ever seen. Dude saw an opportunity to go down easy, end the fight and cash a check and he took it.
he was hurtin that whole fight 🤣 but didn’t even decide to flop on a real punch. he was heated
Watch that punch in slow motion. Mosley threw the right and then turned his bodyweight into the left that dropped him. He hit him in one of the most vulnerable spots on the human body and Mayorga didn't see it coming. There was zero give in Mayorga's body when the punch landed. I'm honestly surprised that he wasn't rolling around on the ground like Oscar De La Hoya against Hopkins.
Nah you would of faked the reaction
6:16 Donny Long doesn't come off as "cocky" at all here, he's just talking normally. His assessment was wrong of course, but he wasn't being cocky at all.
Agreed
The funny thing about the Peter Graham Vs Badr Hari thing is, sure he humbled Badr Hari that time, but Badr Hari went on to become one of the all time greatest kick-boxers ever and even best Peter twice after once via TKO. Badr Hari even best Anderson Silva in a kickboxing match. Badr Hari us beaten tons of the most legendary kick-boxers of all time. Peter Aerts, Nick Pettas, Alistair Overeem, Ray Sefo, Stefan Leko, Gokhan Saki, Glaube Feitosa, Semmy Schilt. He’s not some slacker lol.
Can remember years ago watching him on TV fight in k1 he was a beast, never knew he thought Anderson Silva though
Stay humble, there's always someone out there to remind you of that
When actions are louder than words ...🔥🔥🔥
Mayorga had accrued some losses during his career. Mostly by his own doing in letting himself be hit as an act of strategy. Why? Who knows?Either way, not too smart. He would just purposely let his guard down too many times...and, for too long. All that said, the dude is one tough hombre' to put down. I don't think that I've ever seen anybody take that much punishment and still not go down. No way would I want to get in a street fight with him...You'd just have to break out the shootin iron and be done with it. Otherwise, you'd be boppin heads with him each and every time you ran into him lol. But, the dude could take some punishment.
Fixed boxing match
I kinda feel bad for the last guy. He knows he sucks so he's just trying to have fun😂
this takes "couldn't have happened to a more deserving guy" to another level!
😂😂😂 the last guy tho. Gets knocked out and tries to play it off with push-ups, but still staggering. Get out of here. They should've had the recent one with Adrien Broner
Can you picture a character from punchout doing that?😅
Let me preface this by saying I don't watch or follow boxing ... but Maxwell's heart, that 'hang in there spirit was uplifting!
Man Mike the GOAT I don't care what anybody says every opponent he faced was way taller then him and he went and handled business
It's boxing not basketball
@Zanussi Dish mike tyson
@sorim great comment
12 wins, 31 losses....why in the world does anyone let this man fight? Clearly, it's not his sport
To be fair, most people couldn’t chalk up 12 wins. He’s in the right league.
The only one one undeserving in the list is Donnie Long, he did not know the monster that is Mike Tyson
Never ever get cocky with your elders ,they know the score and had more fights off camera than anyone ,Without the gloves 👍Tyson was an animal .To get put down twice and nearly a third time ,Bloody what a punch Maxwell 🤦♂
The only clean hit he got was calling him "Koala head". 💀💀
12 wins 31 losses 😂😂😂
& 17 losses by KO
I think it was 20 wins
Just quit!
Are we gonna ignore the last guys record. 12 wins to 31 losses??? This guy chose the wrong profession.
as a dutch man i never knew Badr Hari was knocked out that hard
Me too. I never saw that video before.
Like Iron Mike said : "We do the screaming and the swearing to promote the fight, that's how we make our money!"
I wish they treated each other with respect and showed us what real strength acts like.
Talk is cheap until you get knocked on your butt😂
The look on Hari's face leaving in that ambulance was priceless. Funniest shit ever.
That kick on the jaws surely showed him flames🤣🤣🤣
Not premeditated!
Treat every fighter w respect, they worked just as hard to get in the ring
First KNOCKOUT WAS PRICELESS.🥋🤤
Showboating just uses extra energy, let alone creating openings. Romero sounded like he was 15 or 16 talking like that.
When Uzzy's head wobbled like that I thought it was all part of his showboating!
Grahams kick on Badr Hari literally gave him brain damage.
That last guy seemed like he knew he was gonna lose and purely wanted to be an entertainer rather than winning the fight.
hari after the fight: "will..i.. be able..to fight..next week"? doctors: "haha no. by next week, you'll barely be able to eat"
"Ohhhhh....maaaaaaannnnnnnn....."
Note to cocky fighters: Never write a check you can’t cash
i got bullied a lot in highschool until my blood boiled so i send the guy out cold and he ended in hospital for a month...his older brother came at me and i told him he had a big mouth...after since i never had trouble with bullies again
Breaking his jaw made me feel warm and fuzzy inside Karma and humiliations and foolish people
Just goes to show, the best way to deal with a cocky punk is just treat them like another day at work. Generally they're the ones that clock out first.
Ricardo Mayorga was a world class boxer who fought in 5 divisions and held titles in 2 divisions. He backed his arrogance up 90% of the time. He lost to Moseley from a liver punch because his liver was already damaged from alchohol abuse, which is well documented. He is now clean and living a good life. I'm very happy for him.
Still thick as mince though
1:16 He got knocked out so bad that the Black Boxing Gloves he was wearing on the walk up turned Red once he was in the Ring....
Donnie long saying he can punch as well as prime Tyson is comedy gold.
2:17 Where are harder kicks than that in mma? That power is insane, imagine your neck rubberbanding your skull back into place.
Bugs bunny style, how awesome was that!!!
Seen only a few harder ones. Those capoeira kicks are crazy though when they work
Knocking Hari out was the most satisfying. 💪🙌💪🙌
For your information, he beated him twice after that.
Rolly did not need to dry the sweat from his head after his defeat cause the punch from tank made his head go one way and the sweat the other.
The accuracy with Shane knockin the cig from ol boys mouth tho🤯
That rolling thunder kick was so satisfying to watch
That last guy was hilarious! How do you showboat during the fight when you took such a hard fall trying to enter the ring? God is very willing to teach us all humility. Now he knows!
"He's better in entertaining than in boxing" 🤣🤣🤣
Hari had it coming and man did he get embarrassed. How’s that broken yaw 😵😵💫😵💫
It was lovely to see 🥂🍾🥂🍾🥂🍾🥂🍾
He beats him twice after that
the peter graham knock out of badr hari was especially satisfying. talk about humiliating, you never live that down, have a great career and this is what you're remembered for, let that be a lesson big shots.
Tyson's side step was so quick!
0:17 How could anyone be so stupid as to let an experienced boxer take a shot at him. 5:15 6:15 Tyson did not defeat his opponents, he destroyed them.
Tyson said, everybody has a plan, up until they get punched in the mouth.
Imagine being so confident and then getting ko ed by a skinny dude named Ashley 🤣🤣🤣
i mean the dude doing press-ups was quite funny tbh
Wow, 90 seconds in the ring with Mike? That’s good.
You think that's good? How bout putting a ring on mike
Broken jaw bonnes, ended his career and humiliated him! Bravo sir, I salute you!🙌
I find it so funny that most of you guys have no idea what you talking about, in reality Badr Hari came back as the most dominant for years and with different body shape. So for most of you, before you talk you better have some knowledge or at least do some research.
"Everyone has a plan....until they've been punched in the face!" ~~ Mike Tyson
Is this Tyson let's get it in bro .. I want to throw with Mike fr. Just to have that feeling that I went up against the world's best by far
Including Iron Mike himself. He had to scramble for a plan b in the bite fight with the Real Deal that manifested in an ear meal Now he sells Holyfield ear shaped edibles. Tyson turned a boar's ear into a silk purse in the end!
Greg King I don't think you got a good look at the ears and I think Mike is the one drewling with his spit lol!
Donny Long really didn't trash talk. Just underestimated a young Tyson.
Rule #1, never underestimate your opponent.
3:32 gotta admit that's funny 😂
I have a very logical question: How the HELL does a guy with a 12-31 record, whose been knocked out 17 times, get a license to fight ANYWHERE???!!!! Somebody needs to protect this guy from himself....
Little known history fact...it was right before this fight when Tyson said the now famous quote, "everyone has a plan...until they get punched in the face".
Maxwell knocking that dude out made me so happy lol
Tyson is a living legend
Long didnt get cocky like those others he was just confident didnt really talk any smack
Watching Princess Uzzy get KO'd had to be one the most satisfying knock outs ever.
No matter what ppl say about bader hari he is a legend he will always be a golden boy. He broke every single record
