In this video we will highlight building techniques, building codes, order of operations, cost, building materials and tools used, and also even talk about the problems we run into during the build! This is going to be good fun.. And the best part is that you can rent this home for your own mountain getaway!!

I'm 60 yo from Malaysia. I'm too old to be a builder, but learning how it's done and the discipline that goes with being a builder gives me a lot of satisfaction and joy. Well done Perkin boys.👋👍

Probably the best Ryan's kzhead.infoUgkxGZedDTcDfgD7fG_uU4esfx_EgxzlY2_1 Plans on building a shed is hardly ever found. And Ryan takes the mystery out of different types of foundation options, etc. He even shows how to build a shed with different designs. Very comprehensive, covering different roofing materials, siding, etc.
Compressing months and months of work into a 2-hour video that isn't boring, clunky, or lopsided is genuinely impressive. I never watch things like this without either skipping through or losing interest entirely. Seriously, you guys have a real knack for this. 11/10!
What a great advertisement for their construction company. If I were in the US I would hire them for anything. This builds so much trust.
Nothing beats a group of hardworking, handy and extremely knowledgeable men.
You know what they say: a weekend without building a shed is a weekend wasted. I'm only 13, but I want to be a builder when I'm older, and this is giving me a good look into what it's like. Thank you. Great vid Edit: Thank you everyone for the kind words of encouragement. I really appreciate it 😁
Awesome… your welcome
@@PerkinsBuilderBrothers you’re 😂
Me too, I’m 15. But I’ve always wanted to be a builder, hope you achieve your dream bro
@@StevenDavanna Thanks, you too
If you’re only 13 i don’t think there’s gonna be much building left to do when you’re older but there’s still gonna be a mass load of demolition/renovation so construction is still a good business to get in now :)
I was really impressed by the "here are the parts of the initial inspection we failed, and here's how to fix them!" I always love when people show their mistakes and how you avoid or fix them. Really impressive.
Some of the stuff they failed would have not in other states.
Or the inspectors would have just allowed it as it’s minor and won’t actually be affecting the overall integrity of the house… just a thought
kzhead.info/sun/gdprltybm6yCZ3A/bejne.html
That’s a real craftsman. Lot of new houses are just thrown together with a bare minimum pass on the inspection. This is my dream home
I have to agree this guy is an amazing builder I mean he took into consideration of how the sun hits the windows at different times of the year. I mean that's not all but was a big deal to me lop
Appreciate how you guys showed your failures as humans and rectifying them on record... Which is something I don't see on other building videos.
I'm surprised everyone was so photogenic, it's great to see a team that's confident on and off camera.
Please do a follow video explaining all the costs broken down, material, labor, profitability, how to incorporate unstable material costs throughout a build etc!
Agreed, I wonder the cost of such a build.
Hed be giving away all his company secrets to profits unless he cooks books
I wish you guys were in California! Wow, I really enjoyed the start to finish job overview, it gave me a good idea of what I can expect when having my home built. What kind of advice can you give for when I choose a construction company to build my home?
Tiny houses with Jena
Been scrolling threw the comments hoping to find a rough cost, I am in the process of finding land and house design now
Damn, i just watched the whole thing in one sitting and it didn't even feel like 2 hours 😅 Great job on the project. I'm a builder myself
Same man
Yeah, the things they can build these days in two hours! ;-)
@@Cergorach I know right? This would take me at least a week
Your level of professionalism and detail is second to none. All the construction tips are like gold. You packed so much information into a couple of hours. Well worth the watch. I wish all homebuilders would take pride in their work as much as your crew takes.
Did not think I would watch this whole video but it was amazing. Your attention to detail in every aspect of the build is really amazing. Thank you for being awesome!
I just booked this place on Airbnb for Valentines getaway next year for the wife and I. Super excited, can't wait!!
Dam, I watched this whole video, and I found myself saying to myself, "I would love to have a home built exactly like this one", and I would love for the same crew to build it. I'm impressed with your home building skill's. You guy's are funny too :>) Once I began watching this video I couldn't stop till the end, it was very fascinating to me!!
Same
For real man, heartfelt on that one, such a amazing video, it pulled me in til the end
WOW So did I...So impressed with the skill level n dedication of the crew, well narrated and edited video, very detailed and finally an awesome product, a beautiful, practical home. I want to live...or stay there!
As well as, excellent video editing and narration!
ONLY hassle is the numerous adverts. PLEASE. I get that they want to take advantage of advertising monies but ads disturb the flow of their video, as it is so freskin' frequent and frustrating - distracts from the coolness of the actual video. Only their skill and comedy keep me coming back. Bless you from 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧
i could watch this video 5 million times
Aaron came in speaking perfect English in another language! Watching talent will always be amazing! ✌🏾
I've never finished and watched a video this long on KZhead. You guys are so good at what you do. Love the explanations on every steps and definitely, the funny parts. Ya'll are so fun to watch!
Thanks Rose
@@PerkinsBuilderBrothers N E V E R I will understand why Americans LOVE living BEHIND garages. Why don't they build their houses with the garages 20 feet behind the front door????? The ugliest and stupidest way to build houses!!!
My sentiments as well, I never finish long video clips, but on this one I watched it until the end, I think it's got to do with the presentation especially the presenters voice and how they present the video.
the homeowner is so lucky to have a passionate construction team
The builder must be highly skilled to build like this.
GOTTA have your bike with you... You never know when a ride might present itself.
Someone's 'vacation home' is my dream first home. Ahhhh the world we live in is fabulous isn't it 😄
Yo m
It sure is. Thank God not everyone is not bound by others’ limitations.
I'd really love to see a series on the business side of construction. Dealing with lawyers in creating subcontractor contracts, how to deal with having cash upfront or a line of credit for lumber yards, how to deal with split payments for subcontractors, things like that.
100% would love to see this also.
Also the design and permit process. Material list etc...
That would be interesting.
That would be a nightmare. Even if you have it all dialed in its always a hassle
If you do, please dont use a regular slot for your normal content.
So impressed with your incredible video’s Perkins brothers!. I don’t think alot of people realize how much work it is to record and edit everything. Let alone focus on the construction. So well documented, uplifiting and valuable information.
First time I watched you guys and got addicted to watched you guys I live in Pennsylvania
Cheers from North Carolina!
Ok even though I remember watching this whole series I'm still stoked to watch this right now
Awesome! Thanks for the comment!!
What a sense of satisfaction to watch a house being built from scratch to finish.
Cannot believe the ripstick is featured. a relic of the 2000's
This is far better than most things on TV these days.
I was so excited when I found this series and I am so grateful for every video you guys put out. I'm a Virtual Design and Construction major, but I'm also disabled. Which means that I can't do an internship on a construction site like how all of my classmates do. These videos help me to feel as though I'm not missing out as much. I learn so much from you guys and it helps so much. I'm able to see how the things I am learning are applied on real jobs and that's not something I can do as easily as everyone else. So thank you. Keep being awesome.
I can’t believe I watched 2 hour of guys building a house!!! And I’ve enjoyed every minute of it!!! Nice job!!!
"we had a good time building the house" - COME ON!!! Y'all ALWAYS have a good time!!! THAT is what it'slike to work with a bunch of guys like yours!!!! Color me jealous!! LOVED THE VIDEO.
this is kinda a nice bonus for the client, being able to see how their house was built.
I was just thinking I needed a complete build to pass the time
Ha ha! This one should pass LOTS of time
My husband is a retired master stone mason ++ (you know, tile, electric, plumbing...) and has done everything from building a fence using stones from a dry river bed to cladding Microsoft's headquarters in structural stone. He has also provided expert testimony on safety issues, build problem solving, etc. We watched this video start to finish and every comment he had was positive. My husband has a high level of standard for jobs and y'all blew us both away.
Don’t want to bore anyone to death… lol. You have a nurse watching you guys here. It’s ALL educational to me. 🤓
WOW! She made this beautiful home just to rent it out as an Airbnb. I sure hope the people who rent this take care of it. Awesome hob guys!!
been in the business 40 years and i love your attention to the little details that most builders don't do or care to do
My wife and I have spent the last year checking out design and build blogs - you guys are way out in front. The content, honesty and visual references is a testimony to your professionalism, standards and outstanding craftsmanship. The owners of this property chose well, every aspect of this build from the ground up speaks quality and a long lasting legacy. Congratulations - you deserve every success that comes your way. Thank you for posting an excellent instructional record.
Vacation home...That would be my home! This house is gorgeous. I could easily live there full time. The views are amazing. I would be sitting on the covered patio sipping a big cup of coffee every morning.
It amazes my how small the lots look until everything is there. Truly amazing
Great vid. Watched in its entirety. A note for the guy that said "we survived thousands of years" without sunscreen. Does he realize that people also survived for thousands of years without that tool suspender and all the tools he has in it? The speed square alone... my god.
my thoughts as well, its not really a great argument. he is basically neglecting all modern medicine with that statement
can't believe I watched the whole vid. fantastic build, fun, humor excellent results. I'm sure Tina was ecstatic at the completion. Idea love to work with you guys for a year and learn more different innovative techniques. cheers from Oz

Well done guys-appreciate your share-the bantering without “mouth pieces”, which makes for easier listening. Beautifully done!
Amazing build coupled with an amazingly detailed video, 40 years in the trade and I watched every minute! Hats off guys!!
I also with my husband bought the land. Ordered the prints. Secured financing. Had the land surveyed and the house sited on the lot. Got the foundation in and ready to roll. I was a DIY girl before all the rest. Loved it! When you get near the end and see it all come together you do feel a great sense of accomplishment! 70 now and still contract small painting, pool decks, bath remodels etc. with a helper for friends and relatives. These men get along so well and work great together. Really enjoyed this Video!
i remember watching these videos when they first came out, but hell YEAH i'm still down to watch and rewatch the entire thing. this will be the perfect accompaniment to chores or crafting
I can't really fathom I have been watching Perkins Brother's fumble around for two hours straight!
Guys I have followed a few builder’s on KZhead but you have to be one of the best three that I’ve ever come across with an exceptional eye for detail the others would be Mike Holmes and the Essential Craftsman. All three are super talented people who I like to see. I used to be in the construction industry as a scaffolder but I had severe injury to my back in December ‘99 that nearly destroyed my life, it took nearly 10 years before I could get into some sort of work 😮, unfortunately it would never be Scaffolding ever again. I’m a engineer now and build scientific testing equipment for the PPE industry, it’s given me more scope and skills to my life, thanks for these videos you all help make it worthwhile watching them, God bless you all and have a wonderful Christmas and an even more prosperous 2023! Phil. 🇬🇧. Uk
Wish we had crews as professional and fun as you guys. I'd move over the pond to work in a heartbeat. Fantastic work.
really nice to see a group of individuals that takes so much pride in their work. and awesome to see you using a drafting table to hand draw that customs door for the client.
Your crew is very good at what they do and that is huge. I'm 30 + years as a contractor and over the years I lost 3 members of my crew to go out on their own, one retired and one died of cancer. I never was able to put together another crew like them and it has hurt my business significantly. Feel blessed you have such a good crew.
Yes I can imagine it would be hard these days to find a good working crew. Hopefully there are some still out here, hope you can find them...best of luck to you.
I wouldn’t mind making this my permanent home. Nice job.
These guys know how to build the proper way I love the attitude on the job and their attention to details and taking the time to double check and straighten everything up the industry of building houses has gotten laxed and these guys do a good job attitude makes the best and these guys have done the best I would hire these guys anytime if I had that type of income they do it right and they do it good I recommend them to anyone good job guys
i choose this house rather than the penthouse in New York in a heart beat. the amount of dedication..crazy respect and piece of art. The way you build the house make me so useless and less of a human...
Still amazed Americans build their houses with wood. Great work regardless 👍
What do they use in your country

Can I just say, I love the work environment y'all have?? The acknowledgement of a job well done, the goofiness, finding the fun in tiring tasks. It's inspiring and so fun to watch!
These people make construction seem like fun
I can't believe I watch the entire video without skipping. I am just hooked up at how well you build the whole house and mostly at the personality of everyone here.
This video was so entertaining! I’m usually skipping through to get to the “good parts”, but I’m watching this straight through. Thanks for the video!! You guys are awesome… “That’s one way to do it!”
I’m down with Covid, and not in the construction biz at all. I watched every minute, mesmerized. You guys are great at what you do! Thanks for taking us along!
Hey thanks! Hope for a quick recovery for you
@@PerkinsBuilderBrothers Feeling much better already, thanks. BTW, I'm a pretty handy dude with a very solid tool collection, but watching you guys work shows me how much of a hack I am compared to a real craftsman. Your attention to detail is remarkable.

As a carpenter of 20 years, your attention to detail and general building knowledge is excellent, hat doffed.
That's that back breaking work 😂. I avoided concrete work and shoveling at all costs. I love the fact that you tried to use all the leftover materials you had. Efficiency and resource saving is key to making money and running a good business. Great work and very professional.
This was a wonderful video. 2 hours!? Worth watching every minute. You all were amazing to watch. Nothing is more satisfying than watching people do what they know how to do. From the dirt to the metal top was (for the most part) one gang. AAA Why did you all order trusses and not make them?

Well that’s one way to do it…… Great video! Long but informative and interesting to see how another crew does things. You guys have a great chemistry that’s hard to beat!
Well done again, Perkins crew! This was a nice surprise and a very informative two hours! I really enjoyed watching this all come together
I’m on my fourth video now. Really enjoying your work and productions. I have a bunch of newbie questions so I’ll scrub the comments in hopes they’ve been addressed.
When I pour concrete counter tops, I take that blade out of my Sawzall and run it alongside of the frame to get all the bubbles and air out of the concrete mix, it works great!
As an ex-painter decorator (by trade) I have never seen a builder pick up a paint brush unless it was to put primer on an exposed bit of wood! 😂 good work 👍
