Does the Quran prophesy the end of the state of Israel? There's been a lot of social media commentary on this subject, and Dr. Shabir Ally weighs in. He says that chapter 17 in the Quran is thought to be a commentary on current affairs. He says this modern interpretation comes from a place of desperation and a desire to find hope in the Quran. However, he argues that the verses in question were futuristic from the time God told the Israelites it would happen, but not futuristic in our time. Dr. Shabir doesn't like this modern interpretation for another reason: it likens contemporary Muslims to those who originally destroyed the temple in 586 BC. He says we can draw an indirect lesson from this verse: all human beings need to be aware that if they misuse the power God gives them, God can diminish them in this life. There’s also in the same Surah in verse 8 a clear warning AFTER the two prophesied destructions, and it goes as follow : عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمْ أَن يَرْحَمَكُمْ ۚ وَإِنْ عُدتُّمْ عُدْنَا ۘ وَجَعَلْنَا جَهَنَّمَ لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ حَصِيرًا ٨ ( Perhaps your Lord will have mercy on you, but if you return, We will return.And We have made Hell a ˹permanent˺ confinement for the disbelievers.”

In the ayat there is explicitly a difference between the two promises. Allah has explicitly stated that the first promise has been completed, which means that it is something that happened in the past. When it comes to the second, it is indicated what will happen to them, which will actually take place in the future. Nowhere in the aya is indicated that it is a promise that has been completed. In the ayat, Allah warns Bani Israel what the consequences are for their behavior: if you do good, you do it for yourself and if you do bad, you do it for yourself. From the Quranic perspective it is something that will take place in the future.

Allah did not have any hidden secrets in the Quran that only a few individuals would understand and the rest of us are dependent on them to read it through their lens which he got from his sect not from independent sources of the Quran and Sahi Hadith. Throughout Dr Shabir's Islam/Christianity debates, he always referred to scriptures such as the Quran, Bible, and Hadith but when it comes Quran alone he refers to some Ulmah Sue Tafseers and their opinion. No Tafseers were written or given to us by Rasool Ullah or Sahaba. Read Sahi Muslim Dr. Shabir and it tells you that The only tafseer of the Quran is from Sahi Asnaad Ahadees, not your Ulmah Sue's opinions or how they interpreted it.

This was a very vital discussion. I have to agree with Dr. Shabir Ally. A lot of the stuff that is prophesied in the holy book whether it's Bible or Quran it was mentioned in those Century of the generations that when you read what has taken place as the time went on a lot of those things did get fulfilled.
