Listen to the lyrics.. they’re in a toxic relationship but don’t wanna leave each other.. he has said he’d only stay with her one more night so much because he doesn’t wanna leave her. She does things to make him love her. All of it makes sense when you listen to it. The fighting just represents him taking out anger. So she leaves him because it needs to be done. Those saying "it's so sad / she looked so happy" etc. read between the lines. If you listen to the lyrics he is describing a dysfunctional relationship where they have very extreme fights but can't keep away from each other. It's like he is describing the cycle of abuse - loving and then volatile. The fact that he is a boxer in this video hints at aggression, and the way she leaves him (waits until he has left the house and then packs her things and takes the child) is classic of the way women leave abusive relationships - they disappear so the man can't track them down and harm them and their child. All the while the guy is blindsided by it because he was happy with the unbalanced relationship (notice how oblivious Adam's character is at the beginning). The director of this video was very clever. If you watch closely the signs are there.

I love how people twist any sytuation to suit their views or feelings - in vid is shown that she left him, he came back and was surprised to see empty house,in lyrics there's no info about who is responsible for this sytuation, both of them are guilty of building dysfunctional relationship. - Sure you can look at it that way. But from point of view, he was acting completely appropriate. From the little time we see him spending time with his daughter and wife, he seems completely loving and sensible. The fighting may bother the wife but it’s a source of income, and she most likely isn’t doing anything contribute to that income. Furthermore when she left she took the daughter without his consent for he is also her legal Gaurdian. Which may be considered illegal.

This song reminds me of one of the most difficult periods in my life: A levels, or high school as americans call it. I had failed one year and had everything to prove. This song was released then and I remember I was working tirelessly each and every day and stress was through the roof. By the grace of God, I ended up topping my cohort with the highest marks went on to do a bachelors, Masters, am now a branch manager and married! All praise to God! I come back and listen to this song every now and then to remind me how God has blessed me and how far I've come.

2012 was such a different time, it's insane how much the world changed in the last 8 years. Our culture, music, arts, world views, and politics have all changed so fast.
