This set is literally the best moment for every single Ike main out there. Right at this juncture.

This is just magnificent. So great to see Ryo back at it in full force, showing why Ike is a character you can never sleep on.

I hate this matchup as Ike. Extremely linear recovery vs. some of the best gimping tools in the game. Props to Ryo for overcoming it and showing Mario that he needs to respect Ike's mighty Ragnell!

for edge guarding, he has to fludd up b or cape side b for you to insta die. go high react you should be fine since fludd doesn't gimp quickdraw. ike can make landing a nightmare, neutral is even, and if you want to look at edge guarding mario, walk off counter can beat low sweet spot up b, eruption call out also beats up b and with rage kills around 60-80 at half charge? Honestly not that bad.
Ares Cochrane Neutral is not even lmao. Ike out spaces everything mario does. The difference is mario needs only 1 opening to do 60-70%

Tbh I was surprised that Anti didnt use F.L.U.D.D. against Ike; that's like one of Ike's greatest weaknesses against Mario. I guess it was because of Ryo's smart recovery movement that Anti couldn't catch him

As a former Ike main, I REALLY hate this match up, even more than anyone with a counter. Flood and cape are just the biggest cancer in this match up, and I don't know if Anti just wasn't used to the match up or what, but there were a lot of moments where Ryo should have been KO'd by Anti easily. I still mess with Ike, but he's become like a fun pocket character now with Roy and Corrin/Mega Man taking over. The one thing I wish they had done to Ike in this game is allow him to snap the ledge with aether (like Cloud can), and allow you to grab the ledge while facing the opposite direction when using aether (something you could do in Brawl). Anyways not detracting from Ryo here, it was a great game.
Damn really good set from Ryo. He definitely showed how good he is at the Mario Matchup. Can't wait to see Ryo improve with both of his characters.

He got 2nd at TBH6 months later, so it's not random. He's just incredibly inconsistent. He could finish 4th at a major and then 25th at a regional and it wouldn't surprise me.
Watching Ryo play Ike reminds me of why I chose to main him in the first place. I fucking love Ike, and I fucking love Ryo. Nice job Ryo!

0:45 I noticed that Ryo did a slide while charging his neutral B, was it a Jump Cancel? Cause I thought that Jump Cancel can only be done with up smash, up B, and Item Tossing. Or is it something only Ike can do?

uqure15 if you watch ally you can tell he's a lot more confident in mario than anti
I think it's because anti, is a counterpick character kind of player, so he... He's basically the American Abadango, with a huge pocket of characters. He tries to play the counterpick most of the time, so over time, it gets hard to manage more and more practice with like 5 or so characters. And staying consistent. He is still a mario main, but uses like 4-5 other characters. Or more.

A Volatile matchup for both Mario and Ike (55/45 in Mario's favor.) Mario does edgeguard Ike and combos him somewhat hard. Both have difficulty landing against one another with powershields. Ike, however, has the range, power, and safety (max range with no powershields) to kill Mario early and make him take big damage should he get the lead.
Rule #1 when facing Ike (as an Ike main): DO NOT CAPE AETHER.
I don't want to jump to conclusions, but ANTi has been a little rusty for a while. Hopefully he can bounce back soon
