i like the name tho , CV = curved VA , FI = flat IPS 27 = 27 inch and Q = QHD.
I believe the curved is just a C. Just like the 165Hz is R. Unless they're changing things around for different models. I'm getting a MAG270CR for $250. It's a 27" curved VA and has 165Hz.
@@thomastommy9864 That's an MSI model though, right? Different brand, different nomenclature...
Imagine that, a model number that makes sense. What a concept
Best naming convention I've ever seen
yeah once you learn how these companies make up the name, its easier to know the jist of the monitor by looking at name
I was so lost in the world of monitors but this video helped a lot. Very good content here.
TY Nada! great vid. content was in depth and very useful and informative!
Great reviews , you should also use a default picture for all of your panel reviews on dark environment , so we know how they look like on dark . Light conditions are not the same for all , but dark environment is the same for all people , and expose the faults better on panels.
I ordered the FI27Q recently! Looking forward to it!
That was a very informative review. I learned some stuff from it. I'll know what to look for when I start looking around for a new monitor.
I'm super glade that u did a review on the fi27q I'm thinking to buy this one and now I made the decision after seeing ur review, thanks 🙏🏻
Wow lovely video guys . Learned really important thing fron this video . Both are quite good for their particular work . Thank you Love you TechTesters ♥️👍
I just recently noticed about your channel very accidentally BUT I subscribed right away. I love watching your reviews and directions because I found them very realistic.
Thank you so much!
Excellent review. Thank you! Going with the IPS model.
Thanks! :)
Why not curved
@@Tooadie VA ☹
@@VillisDileim is VA bad ?
@@Tooadie i've no idea! But i think the lights in your room gonna make it worser. After OLED I recommend IPS. Im not lying the IPS display with 144hz is sick! But curved IPS 144hz are expenssive for me! (😂) and the cheap curved monitors comes with VA pannel thats the thing! (☹) i would recommend you to go with curved IPS 144hz display thats dope! 😊 or more.
All of these Reviews are Stella quality. Very informative and Clear

happy to see all my fellow virgins in the comments
One Punch indeed!
Just don’t buy anything curved, it’s too hard on them and even harder on users. Not even the Americans could get the quality right on the AOC, the Taiwanese could barely makes it with less white bleaks
TRUE THAT! hahahaha
Dude, you're truly a genius.
Got my CV27Q today and it's just stunning
it rly is! my only reason to send it back (and hoping for a better one) were 3 annoying dead pixels :s hope it doesnt end up in a sending back mess
Superb presentation. Clear speech and easy to listen to. Well done.

Awesome video, still trying to make a decision between the AD27QD and the FI27Q.
Me too. Since I don't care about 21 Hz more , my only prob is the quality of the screen.
AD27QD is better Monitor for gaming
@@Adjointt what are the differences?
Thanks for the min brightness measurements. Maybe 60 cd/m2 is ok for gaming in a dark room it is not ok for reading/working with text in a dark room.

Taylor Bertrim Wow congrats man!
Nice, enjoy!
>Checks price > 550 EUR That's like half the money I'm already spending for a PC build.
And its the thing you're going to be staring at the most. Don't cheap out on a monitor, that said there's some good options around $200
@@tristar3005 lol, nah dude. I got a good IPS monitor for $40. It's a little inconvenient changing brightness /contrast etc. because the buttons are at the back but it's easy enough to memorize.
For a 1100 € PC you wont need this kind of monitor.
Monitors are basicly the most important part when it comes to gaming. If u play cs go competetive i guess u dont care about colours. But for the people playing all kind of games. It just make the games look alot better. I dont like the feeling of spending 500$ either
your going to have the monitor for like 5+ years don't cheap out bro
I have the same monitor from MSI, 27magCQR1. Same specs as the VA Aorus panel (144hz not 165hz), got it brand new for 450$ in Greece. Couldn't be happier with it.
I could already tell which one was the IPS dispaly with out even being told just from looking at the color difference on the two displays.
Good information got here thanks 😊
nice review! Very concise and intensive
Wish I found this before buying my monitor. I have an MSI Optix G27C5 curved VA: I actually think it’s easier on the eyes for pro/work stuff but not as good for my CAD design. For gaming, great for COD/racing, not as good for general quality with RPGs. I had a flat ips before this and returned it so I have an idea
Always so early. Thank you so much for your commitement.
Nice comparison video. Thank you. Mine ASUS PG278QR is now taking dust, after we bought LG C9 65'. 120hz with 6ms is amazing for an tv. True vibrant colors, hdr, and pitch black. I hope that next GPU's from nvidia will have hdmi 2.1. Best regards.
Nice, but also glad to see that my XG32VQR still is in a decent place :)
I got an aorus ad27qd coz of your review guys! 😁
How is it ?

3:53 i agree, when it comes to size, 27'' is already actually quite nice... and larger is great if you do have more space on your desk for it .. and sure wouldn't go smaller unless you really, really have to.. : ) ; ) ps; another nice review)

I would love to have one of these awesome panels but the curved would be my favorite...
I have a curved VA panel
@@ravenxrgaming4672 ok
@Moni blabl Yes it has many colour modes. You can customise and make it kinda similar to IPS also. I would not suggest VA for pro uses. If you are looking for gaming then VA is good.
Good reviews! I am leaning towards the CV27Q because of its features, but the pricing is just abit too steep. Guess I have to wait for it to drop before I decide to get it, or until a similar alternative comes up :D
You are amazing 😊 I love IPS panels too
i rly like the FI27Q's appearance. don't like 1080p monitors anymore
I have never cared for curved monitors. But I needed something for my eyes since they are so sensitive. After using my Samsung 27 inch curve 144 FPS I have a new found appreciation for curved and won’t go back to flat so if I was going to choose between these I would choose the cv27q. But my next monitor hopefully will be an ultra wide with at least 144 FPS LOL.
Had the same issue. The best monitors are from LG now. 34 inch 144 Hz ips uwqhd, and 38 inch one. I got the 34 inch one for around 900 Euros. Definitely the best monitor for your eyes and field of view
Mxgtumgoten hmmm I might have to check it out thanks.
I wear glases, and spend a lot of time in front of monitor. I bought 32 AOC 144hz curved display, to see if my eyes would be less strained. And it works. It needs longer period of time to start feeling eye fatigue with curved display. Its 1500r curvature. But one thing annoys me, and that's daylight reflection on curved, much bigger and stretched across display, so you have to position monitor left or right to loose that reflection. There is no perfect display 😔

@Techtesters Hi Nata, Please compare the CV27Q with the MSI MAG272CQR. You have both the monitors so it should be easier for you. I really need to decide between these two. My priority is smooth gaming as well as a little color-accurate panel as I do a little design work (Ps, Ai, XD) Doesn't need to be hugely color-accurate. Just decent so I won't have any issues or itching :D Thank you.
This is the first time in my life I've seen monitors compared to each other and benchmarked, I'm subscribed now. Btw you should definetly check out Philips 272E1GSJ monitor, the price point is unbeatable: 144 Hz, 27 in 1960*1080 1ms but unfortunately is VA. Costed me around 185 USD (it is imported however so if you are from the US should be cheaper)
I have a 38 inch curved ultrawide IPS on my desk with a 32 inch VA non curved 165hz right next to it.... im happy with both
You can only feel and appreciate the curved screen for a while only, as the effect is very subtle on monitors unlike large televisions. I personally like VA more (given other specs are similar) because it is cheaper.
Price is a strong argument :D
The gigabyte brand tends to be a bit higher in price! Netherlands! Nice! Your english is perfect! Am looking at a $200 MSI or AOC 27" VA panel, 165hz, but 120 - 144hz is enough for me. Curved is the shape I would go with, but flat is ok too. Thank you lovely lady! 🤓 🌹🌷 a Pixio is a good choice too, but they seem to be sold out often! Liked & subbed ❤
Nice review, what about ghosting on the FI27Q? Will be buying a new monitor soon so getting the best info i can to make a decision
Its about as low as an ips monitor in that class can do. I still really like the fi27q.

What is the difference between the normal fi27q and the -p version?
@@ademd91 Gigabyte f*cked up and releasing a revision of the FI27Q, the FI27Q-P because the FI27Q can't do 165hz 10bit, you need to drop to 165hz 8bit ;)
@@St0RM33 Ok thx!
I have it here. If it's worth talking about, sure. But it'll depend on the cost a bit, because if you have to pay a lot more for it (which it seems like you will have to) I have some doubts. In that case I'd say don't worry about the -P, just look at the FI27Q and AD27QD which are great in their own right.
Awesome review.
I think the best 2 monitors in the market currently are 1-LG nano ips and 2-ASUS Rogue Swift...Those 2 are the best..After that there are lots of candidates to choose from..Among them are the Aorus ones too..!!!
I have the Asus product. It's really better than candidates as you have mentioned.
Just got the CV27Q, it is a gorgeous monitor, but mine came with a stuck/dead pixel way in the corner- or at least it is dead when in 165hz, and works in 144... Weird. Mine also has a spec of dust behind the screen in one area. Very hard to notice, but annoying
Just got the fi27q for $439.99 brand new on amazon a few weeks ago. My wife and I both grab one while they were on sale. Couldn’t be happier with them at all! The p model does have 165hz 10 bit because of the d.p 1.4 and the non p model has 165hz at 8 bits because of d.p 1.2 but to be honest when I do put the fi27q in 10bit at 120hz it looks exactly the same. Can’t even tell a difference at all in colors. So not going with the p model has turned out great for us and was 100 dollars cheeper and for the price we picked these up at we feel they are a absolute steel!
I agree. 1) The FI27Q is a really nice monitor. And 2) I don't see why you would pay 100$ more for the -p either :D
What I got from video: ✨Personal Preference✨
Always soo nice and well informative videos... thank you. From Brazil.
There's no proof you're from Brazil
@@MostlyFish21 hello, I'm proof.
Received the CV27Q today, can confirm the display will let select you pick 10-bit color, with all settings applied. Xbox One X confirmed for 1440p@120hz with VRR, can do 4K with HDR support as well, you can also have HDR enabled with 1440p mode, though think the X only does HDR when you have 4K selected.
so is this a good monitor for Xbox X?? because the old model you could not enable VVR with Xbox x
@GV DRAGONFISTS Yes, been using it for the past few days to play Ghost RECON Breakpoint on my X at 1440p 120hz, with VRR and it has been fantastic.
@@JD-dm1uj is there any motion bulr and ghosting ??
GV DRAGONFISTS blurring is the lowest I’ve seen for a VA panel, really good, not as good as the Acer IPS I referenced, it’s the sharpest and clearers monitor I’ve used, though this for a VA looks great, I have flash-lighting on the four corners, essentially backlight bleed, defeats the purpose of having a VA panel, might as well be IPS glow. This is a very versatile and capable VA panel, if you get a good one.
J Phillips lol dude just cause you can enable the options doesn’t mean you’re playing at 120hz. Youre just playing at 1440p and at either 30fps or 60fps (whatever the game throws out)
I got a new computer, with 3700x and 5700xt! Now I am looking to upgrade my old Dell IPS monitor. I think I'm in the area of 500€. First I was considering the LG 27GL850-B, but then the contrast ratio is very low, then I thought that the Samsung C27HG70 could be a good option, but then I found out about the Gigabyte AD27QD, only to read in some Reddit post, that there is new version so here I am considering the FI27Q and CV27Q. Both cost about 530 Euro if I buy from the NL. The question now is go VA curved or IPS non-curved? Besides gaming (mostly CS:GO), I edit videos and photos as an amateur, but I see that both IPS and VA have quite a good color gamut and accuracy. Edit: Should I wait for Black Friday? Do you think these monitors gonna get a discount?
I was an Aorus fan ever since I bought their water cooled 2080
Got myself AOC 24g2 for 200eur and km very happy

I'm glad Gigabyte moved the orange highlights from the hardware exterior into the OSD! I hated the orange highlights in most of their stuff. Their OSD looks really nice compared to other great brand competitors. Imo ofc.
I prefer the curved VA, but I look forward to curved IPS in the future.
Very good video! On Gigabyte Aorus site the featurs of the monitors they say the Aorus FI27Q is Freesync and the Aorus CV27Q is Freesync 2.0 , could you please confirm?... because is not the same :p Thank you!
Thank you! And that is true. It was an overlook on my part and it was added to the description of the video :) Thanks for noticing. Its nice to know people are actually watching my videos
If you care about image quality, contrast should be your priority, thus VA. This is why most TVs are VA as they look best and in all environments.
While 3000:1 sounds 3x better thank 1000:1 I'd argue the difference isn't that big. I personally think IPS is not matched in image quality by VA. 1

what annoys me is that the FI27QD uses the exact same panel as the ad27qd so shows it can support it to, but gigabyte is just locking it through the firmware
Yeah and there is no differences between this 3 monitors, it's the same panel, and for the 165hertz it's an overclocking. Because you can't turn g synch in this refresh rate same as the asus pg279q.
1440p is a good sweet spot IMO. IPS and Flat is what I would choose.
Whic better feature price CV27Q or CV27Q-P?
The big difference between ASUS and Gigabyte is that the GB products last for a very-very long time. Asus products last rougly 2 to 3 years. Nice Video.
I cant stand the contrast on ips but I do like the kind of glow it has idk how to explain it I would actually take the ips in thise case as they seem to of done well with it and if you look in the beggining the color is just better I rwally really like these new aorus monitord might be my favorite on the market right now
Hi, im watching yous review just now, in 2022, because im thinking about buying a FI27Q. I would like to ask you : its FI27Q wobbles alot? I fear spend the money and get annoyed by the shake of the screen. Dont know if you still remember this detail, since its 2 years now since the video. Excellent video review, enjoyed the watch!
The f series from GB has one of the best stands on the marker, so no worries 😄
Nice review
For 27 inch anyway I wouldn't recommend a curve. Need a minimum 32 inch or an ultra wide. 27 inch is pretty easy to keep the entire monitor in view.
Maybe it's not as important but it's still cool. No reason to not recommend it.
Have both a 34in 3440x1440 Ultrawide 100hz Free-Sync VA panel and a 27in 2560x1440 165hz G-Sync IPS panel. For me it depends on the type of game I’m playing. Open world games like Witcher 3 I’m using the VA ultrawide. FPS and racing games I prefer the IPS panel.
va is slow. blur and smearing everywhere and bad viewing angles. really bad viewing angles that is.
@@Dr.WhetFarts Mines not that bad actually it has okay viewing angles I dont really notice any blur. I still like VA more then TN. Also like the less black light bleed of VA qnd the contrast VA can achieve. My VA is even a 10bit panel. But I still like my IPS monitor best.
dr. whet farts and the ips crap Cant Show, blacks. IPS glow everywhere. 🤢🤢🤢
Wonder if you can advise? I’m looking for a monitor that will give me best performance out of my xbox series x and pc. I’m into playing FPS games online games so wondering if it’s worthwhile looking at 4K or 1440? Would like your opinion as I want to be able to reach 120hz with best possible graphics as well as being able to support G sync and free sync. Thanks for your advice in advance if you can help.
Love the vid
The official list of NVIDIA shows that the FI27Q is G-SYNC compatible, but then they say that HDR is not present. According to specs, there is HDR. Maybe the HDR in the FI27Q-P is better. What do you think? I cannot actually understand what is the difference between the non-P and P variant. When I compare them they look the same.
I currently have 2 monitors and it just happens that both are the same size (one is curved the other not) but one is 1080P and the other one 4K I have tha curved 1080p on the left with chrome and the 4K in fron with say VS CODE I love the 1:2 ratio in each direction (or the 1:4 ration in 2 dimensions)... I am looking to find the same 2 screens of the same exact model (similar enough to say identical) but with one 1080p and the other one 4k (I do not know if it still needs to be curved perhaps I like that without realizing it...
Flat all the way unless it's ultra wide. Edit: And no to V/C shaped or whatever they're called disturbing stands.
VESA FTW!
Underrated
Your panel type i love that❤
What is your opinion on AOC Agon Ag273qcx?
Great Vid! Just picked up the FI27Q-P for $138.00 that was said to be DOA. I took a chance and it works perfectly! Great panel and would highly recommend it.
That's one amazing deal, enjoy!
Can't decide. My rig will be mostly for gaming, but I also work in architecture and do lots of photo editing and rendering, so color accuracy matters. What do?
FI27Q should make sense for both imho.
What about response times and input lag?
People wondering about IPS vs. VA should take this into consideration. When it comes to CHEAPER monitors, so not like 550 range, but more like 200-250 range for a 27 inch, then VA panels tend to be superior to IPS. Most cheaper and budget VA monitors just kick IPS ass.
So your saying a asus tuf vg279q1r is not a good option if i have like a 200-250 budget?
Disagree. I tried both and IPS is better because the colors are noticeably better than VA.
I love this channel. LTT without fillers...
Thanks! Should I make a water bottle? :D
im going to the store in a couple hours , in my area the fi271 is 100 dollar more expensive . what would you guys buy ?
I want one that does 1440 at 144 but also vibrant colours and good contrast ratio which one should I go for ?
I’ve upgraded from MSI GTX 670 to Gigabyte GTX 970, as both cards are factory overclocked versions. The down part is that the GTX 970 gives more browny tint in skin tone on white people skin in photos, with the same colour settings in the nvidia program and on my US $250 IPS AOC screen, right away I noticed the darker and non vibrant skin tone that can’t be adjusted right. No matter how i tried to tune the colours, just couldn’t get it back to the old GTX 670’s. It’s like going from normal PAL colour system to NTSC Germany colour system on VHS cassette, the colour is stuck and more unmatched to ipad’s Colour, it looked more flat like print out, more grainy, sharper picture, less vidid ... oh, it’s just a game now, not for photos and movies. It’s like replacing your TV, you want Panasonic’s colour system, and they gives you Sony’s, the skin tone are different and can’t be fixed. Same nvidia program, same settings in the nvidia and aoc screen as before, different graphic cards, different nvidia driver version, gives different skin tones and colour system.
ok
i was gonna get one of Asus's monitors but some of those monitors have issues that's why i like Gigabytes monitors better because Gigabyte has fantastic customer support if anything goes wrong when i buy either the Aorus AD27 or the FI27 i bet they can probably fix it without a problem.
Got curved Samsung 27" VA-type 2560*1440 144Hz with quantum dots. And i am happy.
It is actually LC27HG70QQIXCI complicated name....
What are quantum dots?
Hi Techtesters, does the 1500R curve feel awkward when browsing or seeing youtube or doing any productive work?
Hey :) curved in general takes a bit of getting used to in my experience. Once you work with it a bit it starts to feel natural, at least it did for me. It can still feel a bit odd to swap between them, but I don't really notice a difference between 1500r and 1800r tbh.
Aorus AD27QD here
Personally I'll go VA all day. The extra contrast is a game changer for me. But i can't use a curved monitor, since curved monitors make straight lines look curved if they're not perfectly aligned, which hurts in CAD. Since my day job is entirely reliant on CAD software.
Heh, it's very subjective in the end. Nothing wrong with having your own preference! As for curve, you could try something with a light curve though, I've got a 2300R ultrawide here as well and I don't find straight lines an issue on that (I don't like it on 1500R though).
