    • I dont why boxers think they can win over kickboxing / muay thai fighters. Boxers literally only has a 4th of weapons of a muay thai fighter. Sure their hands might be better - but muay thai has kicks, knees, elbows, sweeps and the clinch. Boxers only has hands - it's so stupid. And the most stupid is the boxers who thinks they can win over MMA fighters. Claressa Shields is awesome because she has the brain to understand she needed to train her wrestling and jiujutsu. If she hadn't train those martial arts, then she would have been tapped out in the first round and in the beginning of the fight. - but she is smart!

    • @@vipr1142 at a low level like this, a boxer can win, as you can see how wide both their stances are. The boxer has to initiate cuz he needs to get into the pocket and stay there, but you can see they were both, in my opinion afraid to make a move. A little kick defense with punching or eat a kick and counter with punches instead of running away would have made this fight more interesting… but it’s low level

    • Which boxers have you been listening to claim that punches/western boxing is superior? Both and neither styles are superior depending on the context. People practice and train in martial arts/combat sports for a variety of reasons/purposes; the ability to compete against other martial artists /sport fighters is the least of why people train. Nobody 'needs' to learn any specific techniques such as kicks unless they desire to and it serves a valuable purpose to them. P. S. If your reference to superiority is in the context of self defense/protection neither boxing or kickboxing is superior but they both teach valuable transferable skills; but unfortunately during experiences of high stress, fear, anger, shock such skills can and are nullified for many! This is why violent confrontations have to be avoided as much as possible!

    • @@RichardFIII head gear actually makes it a lot easier to eat kicks than punches as they come from below. The only reason to use headgear is that they're doing muay thai sparring and if he landed an elbow or knee to the head it would make some serious cuts. Head gear also makes it incredibly easy to grab the head and knee them in the face because they can't slip out of the clinch. I would know because I broke my last opponants nose in my last amateur muay thai fight because of that
