Dear Emma, I've been following you for a while and I just wanted to congratulate you for the high quality of your videos. Your teaching skills have improved a lot as well as the quality of your videos and tools. Thank you very much.
Emma you're a legend. This is my favourite Australian idiom.
😂 haha! Thanks, legend!
Dear Emma, Thank you so much for sharing this video! It's so interesting and useful! In my opinion, you are a good egg🐣 and a culture vulture🌸🐉🏰🏯🏮🗼, so all of us love you as a great teacher💚💙💛 I wish I was a teacher's pet in your class!

Hello Emma❣ Thank you so much for everything you're doing. Your lessons are so useful for me. I learnt some idioms as early bird, party animal, lucky duck and more. Me describes culture vulture📚 Once more THANK YOU❣
It is really good, to learn New idioms, from Brazil
Hi Emma, an absolutely awsome lesson. You are not only a go getter but also a smart cookie as well as a good egg.
Thanks EMMA🤩. In Italian we say animale notturno( night owl), opposed to mattiniero ( early bird). Un uomo di parola is a man of his word, un cocco dell'insegnante is teacher's pet😅, a busybody is a ficcanaso, a cheapskate is a tirchio, a worrywart is un uccello del malaugurio🤣
Hi Francesca, doing fine? I just wanna to say that I loved the Italians idioms, is close to the portuguese!

I simply wanted to find someone who could provide me with the same fresh energy that I had in Australia... While living and studying in Australia, I fell in love with the English language. I was searching the internet for videos when I came across you... and you're from Australia. You're bringing back some happy memories and feelings from my time there. It has always been meant to lead me to you. You're the greatest. I can sense all of the positivity that flows from you here in Hungary as well. Thank you so much, Emma.
Thank you thousand for this lesson with the idioms to refer to People. I’ve studied them several times to keep these in English in my brain. I can tell you that all my life I was an early bird. It was because of my job as a farmer. It was easy for me to get up early every morning and milk the cows
Really grateful for this nice video. Idioms is a sparkling side of any language . Being useful tools in communication they help to feel the language! Appreciated 👍
I watched this video almost every sound. It likes I was listening to my native language 'cause I understood all of what you're talking (though I'm not really good English learner). For me, this is the most interesting English video of yours and I'm really into it right now! I've done my 30 idioms noting down, thank you so much❤️... And do you want to learn some English idioms when it's Vietnamese? I can give some, like "dark horse", when you were explaining the meaning of its, another phrases popped into my head "still waters run deep" hahaaa, and the person who is a dark horse is called "giấu nghề" in Vietnamese (though "giấu nghề" is an adjective). "Giấu" is hidden and "nghề" is their job in which they're specialized. I love this idiom so much! Another idiom which can be translated to Vietnamese is "cheapskate", it's called "keo kiệt" or "bủn xỉn" in Vietnamese (I don't know to explain it, even when I'm Vietnamese, I just know that "keo kiệt" means "cheapskate" and "cheapskate" means "keo kiệt" hahaaa). For more, I can say it "phá game" with the meaning of "party pooper" (though "game" is an English word, all teenagers in Viet Nam say that🤣)... The others is pretty hard to say in Vietnamese, so I'm really thankful for you to teach me these idioms. Now I can shoot the breeze with my friends about them! Hopefully you'll read my comment and I love uuuuuuuu❤️❤️❤️
I love your video. It’s important to know idioms because all languages are peppered with them, especially English. It’s good to know the idioms that describe people. I’m a retired ESL teacher and idioms were part of my lessons.
Me, I am early bird
Really thankful for your lessons.
Amazing content for those in love with words by such an engaging & pleasant instructor - Thank you so much
Hi Emma. Thank you for this lesson. I love it very much!!!! There'are equivalent expressions in Spanish language. Here few of them: A lone wolf=un lobo solitario A dark horse=una caja de sorpresas The early bird gets the worm=A quien madruga, Dios le ayuda Night owl= Ave nocturna Jack-of-all-trades, master on none=Aprendiz de todo, oficial de nada A man of his word=Un hombre de palabra The teacher's pet=El niño mimado A know-it-all=Un sabelotodo A party pooper=Un aguafiestas Straight shooter=Sin pelos en la lengua
Muy buen trabajo!!! Gracias
I want to learn Spanish
What a helpful lesson! I like "the teacher's pet". I'm definitely an early bird! I get up at 4:30 almost every morning!
Oh my goodness that definitely makes you an early bird!
U definitely be successful if u get up that early time.
@@mmmEnglish_Emma Hi Emma. Thank you so much for this great lesson. Now, I have a big doubt: How can you use these idioms with plural subjects like they or we or with plural nouns? For example, inagine I'm going do a business and my secretary recommends I do not do it because they are bad people. Should I say: Don't worry they are: * a man of his word * a man of their word or words * men of their word * men of their words What if they are a group of men and women: they are men and women of their word/ words?. And the same question goes with the other idioms on plural. Could you please help me?
Hola Emma, tú eres fantástica. En cada uno de tus vídeos aprendo mucho. Estas expresiones idiomáticas - que son bastantes- debo aprenderlas poco a poco, siempre dentro de un contexto. I wish I could applied some of them in a daily basis. Thank you Emma

Hi Emma! Nice to see you again with your new outfit: In my opinion this hairstyle (!) is absolutely PERFECT for you! It looks so nice, classy and cute too. Besides, this lesson is absolutely helpful for knowing how to speak common English. We know a lot af academic English, however by far not enough of common spoken, or of idiomatic language which is often so colorful and funny too. English is a really lively language: Thanks a lot Emma, you are a good egg!
Will use them for my next lesson definitely. I can confirm that "Smart Alec" was used in the UK in the 1950's and would be considered quite old fashioned. Also "Goody Goody" does not exist in the UK, we have a "Goody two shoes" and it has exactly the same meaning. "Lucky duck" I am not at all familiar with this expression in the UK. It is also very interesting to get to learn Australian idioms from this end of the world. Thank you indeed.
