LTT has built a LOT of PCs over the years and - surprisingly - not all of them were jank messes of questionable watercooling and hair-brained GPU mounting techniques. But which ones were the “Best of the Best?” We asked you, the audience, to select a few, and y’all sure did deliver.

I'm really good at dropping things - reacting to our worst drops
I’d say that is a good idea, but the video would be too long for KZhead
Yes!!!
Agree Agree Agree!!!
A surprising return of the Bearded Linus
ya even i got confused
It was maybe filmed before he got rid of the beard
He forgot to shave today.
I SAID THIS BEFORE I WILL SAY IT AGAIN linus hair = harry potter hair say no more... 😂
He grow fas
3:32 "It sounds really expensive compared to my rocks" Lmao Luke, nice one.
The mineral oil PC is to this day by far my favorite one. And It's not even close. Maybe it's the shock of watching computer working in a liquid or the aesthetically pleasing aquarium setup, but it's so much better than everything else. It is the one that deserves a re-visit.
It'd just be the same video lol
@@verakoo6187 Lol... ofc it won't. We don't need mechanical drives now and it can always be made even crazier if it's fitted into an actual aquarium with fish swimming around it.
@@QuantumS1ngularity How does that make it a better computer?
@@actually5004also you can’t have fish in mineral oil or distilled water… that literally puts contaminants in the fluid and will absolutely short the pc
@@iiimaskyiii7816 I was assuming he meant having the aquarium in a separate chamber around the mineral oil section...
"fake & Fluke" nice one editors, actually made me laugh
Me too. Great touch.
its amazing haha
14:32 for anyone looking. Editor having a laugh with the audiance here.
Lie-nus fake and fluke
logged into an google account just to point that awesome detail out !! :D
honestly i appreciate the care and attention that Luke paid to those old projects even if they weren't as "professional". gave them character.
I'm so glad "Slick"'s mineral oil rig reboot from Langley made it into the honorable mentions. That was one of the videos that really sold me on this channel back in the day. Crazy to think it's been 9 years.
Luke's build videos were amazing. They had this relatability that LTT has lost overtime. Like Alex's videos still have the chaos and the jank, but it's using tools most of us will never even seen in person. Luke was your homie in his garage running on no sleep and energy drinks doing what he can with a pile of scraps. The energy in those vids was perfect.
Another Nerd Forge build would be AWESOME.
Yessssssss
And please don’t give away this one lol, the old one looked lovely on the short circuit set
Still can't believe how much Austin Evans ROASTED the NerdForge build... (video on the "This Is" channel

@@GHOSTSTARSCREAMM hes a yapper fr
Linus being so chill about the resume fraud duo kills me lmao
"fake" and "fluke" was great
That's because they have proved themselves to be highly competent.
@@uzetaab Agreed. I imagine there's other resume liars over the years that we don't know about because they were incompetent and got fired during their probation period.
17:48 I miss this guy! where'd he go?
@@misternormL If you're talking about Anthony, they are still at LMG. They have since transitioned and are now Emily. She has backed down from being a host to not draw negative attention to LMG and/or their selves since they are semi public figure. Through her own words she is receiving support from LMG and her friends and are unsure of when they will be comfortable in front of a camera again.
5:13 I actually feel this way lol. I love the jank sketchy builds, such as Alex's crazy cooling contraptions or the such, as well as the crazy high end stuff like the 100k desk pc
This feels like the beginning of an amazing series. I would love to just watch LTT staff sit around and talk about their old videos. The memories and the nostalgia would be amazing to watch and relive as a fan. Thanks for the fun videos you all!
The spiffing brit pc was the best for me. Just so much detail and great execution
As a Britain. I agree. I suddenly have the urge for a nice cup of tea now.
@@Deja117do not drink the PC coolant
As the whole of Britannia, i also agree@@Deja117
It was a really simple and clean build, perfectly balanced with the right ammount of lore
Watching the tea flow out of the spout and foam on the GPU was just next level too.
The sheer talent and hard work that Martina and Hansi put into the cyberpunk build is so out of this world.
The smack talk and segues in this one are hilarious! Linus, Luke and Jake make a fantastic combo!
My two favorite types of videos over the years; sleeper builds and most of your server/networking videos.
"You made a stencil and it still looked like that". That got me. Jake has 10/10 putdowns. Savage. When are he and Alex getting to lead on a car channel again?
I'd bet good money that even when Jake's being super nice and polite, there's a little subroutine running 24/7 in the back of his brain, constantly generating this calibre of sass for its own amusement. I'm just grateful that he gets to let it off the leash for our entertainment 🥰
They said they'll probably never do an actual car channel.
Nerd Forge! 11:22 They don't half ass around when it comes to builds of anything. :)
The pc for the Spiffing Brit was really good and the tea coming from the teapot int the tube gave me an idea, what about creating a laminar flow tube inside the pc, it would have been cool seeing the pot pouring liquid in a cup in the pc? It would be the collest way to show fluid flowing in a zen themed pc or something like that. Obviusly it would need to use mineral oil or something like that to avoid evaporation, accidental spalshings and in to make the laminar flow form faster with less turbollence, but it would be cool, challenging and unique...
Interesting to see the builds that I had forgotten. Great walk down memory lane, and the community's ranking is quite on point. It's always fun and enlightening to see how much we have evolved in terms of modding capabilities.
Yes do another build with Nerdforge!!!
Yes !
I agree! Need that fr
Yes!
seconded. (fourthed?)
21:38 THIS BUILD NEEDS TO BE REDONE so much more potential
I can't believe I've seen every single one of these... I was going through my Favorites list recently (or I guess it's been simply a playlist called 'Favorites' for many years now), and found out that I actually watched you BEFORE LTT, on NCIX Tech Tips... I have no recollection of that. But then the set in the background of videos from 12 years ago brings back memories, as do your co-hosts, especially the female one. Turns out, some of these videos from well over 10 years ago were added to my favorites on the day they were uploaded. And it's not like KZhead back then would have pushed those to me. Wild. I guess I've known you for almost half my life, though you've probably never even seen my comments before :D What I also didn't know is that you must have helped me build my first PC, back in 2010. Thank you for all you for the community Linus and LMG :)
My personal favorite was MBX MK II, loved the story behind and everything it stands for
2:22 This was one of Linus’ best sponsor segueway
Segue: What Linus did Segway: Stupid transport Segueway: WTF
Love the bong chiller, built one myself back in early 2000's after reading on forums about them. Mine was super ghetto, but worked great! Using 2 water blocks I built from scratch using 2"x2"x1" solid copper blocks that I drilled out on a drill press, then filled in with jb weld, and screwed some barbed fittings into. With nothing other than a via aqua 1300 pump, and hardware store 1/2" id tubing went through about 3/4 of a gallon of water DAILY through evaporation, and left tons of residue in my system due to my using sink water.
19:25 - actual cooling tower :D still used in bigger buildings (though, with added chillers) to supply chilled water to ACs in spaces where EXACT temperature is crucial.
18:22 this was my fav of all the builds, because I'm into sleeper builds, looks crappy on the outside but performs powerful on the inside
Luke is looking good lately, thinned down, no homeless beard, and a good haircut...glad you included him too, hes such an OG and always fun
Nerdforge underwater pc would be fun to see. Really hope you do another collaboration with Nerdforge.
dude.. how did i forget about the fall out pc?? that was really cool! you guys have been on "the air" for so many years now, you need a wiki with a comprehensive index!
The bomb case pc, still one of my fav builds on this channel, can still vividly remember the video and being inspired by it to make my own themed pc.
“This build took so long I now have facial hair” - Lienus, 2024
need the old Linus back ?
Surprised the Play Button and NCIX sign PC weren't here or even mentioned
6:59 sleeper build 😒 sleeper build, japan 😍
After seeing this video I watched a load of the older build videos, including the mineral oil pc and the video of it being upgraded/ re built has to be the funniest I have ever seen
I agree with all of these, and I love Luke's roasting of Linus when necessary, in defense of his gem PC 😂
11:21 I was about to comment and say that there's a youtuber named nerdforge who's artistic ability is unrivaled when it comes to detailed miniature structures. Then, surely enough, it was with her. Honestly, I love to see it. People like her with such a unique ability can truly make the most eloquent things.
The PC was amazing, it was on one of the sets for quite a while and wonder what price it went for.
That thing really deserves to be exhibited in a museum, it's one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
I've enjoyed all of these builds, especially the sleepers. I always felt that LTT could colab with a case manufacturer to make a really cool and super functional case.
That Pyramid PC is probably one of my favorites. I watched it way back a few years ago, jogging so many memories.
I love that mineral oil pc, I remember when you put that video out… Man it’s been a minute huh? I think would have to agree and say that you should build another one!!!!!
Maybe build 2 of them, competition style… 2 people on each team, the 4 people I would pick would be Linus, Luke, Alex, and Jake. Draw straws to select the teams, I wouldn’t really want to make a time limit on the build but I would think that the amount of time that was spent building the first Mineral Oil PC should be sufficient, maybe a little longer, and do 2 videos, 1 for each build. Then 1 video comparing them with the 4 of you there to give each other s**t if needed, then have James, Riley, and Dan be the Judges…
I really want to see Alex build one of those
I can not possibly be the only one who really likes how Linus looks with longer messy hair! Like, surely Jake and Luke are the odd ones out here? No?
These are some of my favorite videos, they're so chill
That metal Compensator 3, with the moving RGB on it's ribs, makes it look so sick!
would love to see an update version of that Fallout PC
Pizza heater ?

mineral oil pc was my gateway drug. have seen every vid/wan show after... got me hooked for life on you guys, thanks!
LTT was a big inspiration when it came to getting ideas on what i wanted to build, and what is the best quality
So when is "I'm Really Bad at Holding GPUs" coming out? Edit: bruh they changed the title
1 Oil Cooled PC - 10 gamers... when?
SO glad the bong PC is in here, I loved the unconventional way of cooling
I'm glad the phase change PC got mentioned, that thing was so sick
The fact that Geodude made it in is hilarious
So many comments in just a minute.. also shaved linus is making me think the videos are before 2019
12:50 Hes gotta take some pride in that. That white/copper is a gorgeous combo.
id legit love it if you guys went back to the cracy build like this again
"This build took so long, that I now have facial hair"
3:34 idk Y out of context it made me laugh 😂 7:31 alsoo...
More videos with the 3 of you, please! This one was so funny.
Holy hell this is a blast from the past. I think it would do ltt good to return to form for a bit!
12:31 Where is floatplane build!?
Lukes beard looks so sharp i could shave myself with it
Nice, haven't seen all of those builds before and I love the banter as well :)
I think we need a video like this for the TECH UPGRADE VIDEOS
I cant believe you LEFT out the LEFT leaning PC

Bearded Linus still isn't catching up to Adolescent Linus 😂
10:59 Brilliant save, Linus. They had you in the corner there
I loved the bioluminescent pc personally, even though it wasn’t flashy it was still so sick

@@StaelTek wow
@Nedforge the best detail work ever, nice work as usual
most fun I've had watching a video in quite some time - been watching for 10+ years
the fallout nuke pc is my favrouite video you guys have put out and i have watched almost all of your videos
11:22 - Nerd Forge legendary cool stuff, I found out about the channel from that video/build, and even after seeing their dedication and skill I still cannot fathom how they were able to make that epic Cyberpunk design! They went with an idea to make something 100% cool and overdid it to 500%. Mind was blown.
Omg I forgot about the compensator builds !!! Would love to see a new one !
I'm so happy to see Luke's mineral PC. I loved that build back in the day and always wanted to make my first PC like that lmao. 10/10 build, sue me
seeing that creeper and some jank cardboard really should be combined, like the cardboard pc you did but using a aluminum extrusion frame so it's diy friendly *-*
The Xbox build is still to this day one of my favorite PC builds. I loved that build and video. It was a big inspiration for my hot wheels PC build/video
1:08 love the integer number usage
This was great. I forgot about a lot of these and didn't know about quite a few
Nerdforge and LTT was two universes colliding for me. Loved it. They should do something again!
This was so much funnier than expected, absolutely top tier
I love the technique on the Copper build
The mad max pc from scrapyard wars shoulda had a honorable mention, that thing was fantastic for a single day/scrap build
These PC's were the reason I subscribed to the channel... It just inspired me to finally take the plunge and build my own system for the first time.
I love this video! I'm going to have to go back and watch a bunch of these.
I'm glad that Luke's builds made it in. I loved his Fallout and Geodude build.
As a sleeper build super fan, honourable mention to the incognito pc and the compact sleeper build
The mineral pc has always been a fascination of mine as well. 😂 19:04 My dad went to itt. They had a setup built into the wall. Still want to make one someday.
This is a great list, but two of my favourites are actually missing: the "RGB Everything" and "RGB Water Cooling" PCs. While they're more moderate than the other builds on the list, they were still rather extreme for their time because RGB lighting wasn't as commonplace when those videos were produced. More importantly, those two builds gave me ideas that I used in my own water cooled PC with pretty much everything illuminated with programmable RGB lighting, and after several upgrades I'm still using that as my main gaming PC now.
Yoooo, what about the RAVE PC? The unicorn paintjob there was amazing!
glad y'all liked the glam shots of the Karl Jacobs PC. thanks for the fingy cameo at 3:02
x gamers 1 cpu builds where amazing and I would love more in depth explanations of how those builds worked and the setup involved
4:38 A bit more overkill than the main machine I play Minecraft on - but I've been known to do that WHILE plotting CHIA on the same machine, AND web browsing.
The copper tube PC is gorgeous and the first thing I thought of. Distraught that it only got in through honourable mentions.
My favourite builds were the Nerd Forge one followed by the desk of radiators.
Id love to see more small form factor builds. I'm trying to build a pc for the first time and went with the silverstone milo 11 slim. Anxious to see how it comes out.
the cyberpunk pc mis amazing. shows just how creative you can be. good vid guys :-)
17:10 A better idea, you could let multiple people use it rewarm cold pizza so if it's being replenished fast enough it could actually help dissipate the heat.
honestly, after seeing "hot rod" like cooler sticking out of the case, i think it would be cool if you guys made a hot rod pc. give it exhaust with airflow, glass panels where the windows and windshield would be, and some flame decals would look sick.
