They do not even show the CFL games here in Canada anymore. You must subscribe to cable TV and pay to see your own channels? Amongst the free channels in my city of Montreal, one of the local English-speaking ones show regular season NFL games instead of the Canadian Grey Cup. For shame. Both the NFL and CFL are excellent. They have different rules. So much the better. It makes things more interesting.

Americans should be aware that most of these players are Americans. The rules are 'Canadian' and they have to have a number of Canadian players on each team. It's always interesting to see which colleges they came from in the States and the success that they had there. When you see a guy like Shaun Lemon, who has played on 8 of the 9 CFL teams, out there being a leader and having success himself, it just adds to the success of what this team accomplished.

No Grey Cup in 13 years. No 11+ wins in a season in 11. Their owner died and the team went into administration, completely missing out on free agency. They entered 2023 with a roster of 21 year olds, aging vets, and Cody Fajardo, who was widely considered to be on his last chance in the league. They were +1100 to make the Grey Cup and a near unanimous choice for the wooden spoon. This is the greatest story in sports.

Congratulations to Montreal Alouettes 🏆. Peter from Switzerland 🇨🇭
This was my first time watching the Grey Cup and man was the bar set high! Congrats to Montreal!
I was there!!! What a great game, what an experience. I love the CFL!!!!
You had fun!
Instant classic!
This team didn't even have an owner or budget at the start of the season to sign free agents. They lost Eugene Lewis, their best receiver, and yet, Danny still managed to change the team dynamics by picking up Sankey and Lemon. They were neglected and labeled to finish last in the league. Watching these highlights, the incredible hits and plays in this game were surreal! Great job boys, and congratulations!
Incredible final! Congrats to Montreal from a die-hard Blue Bomber fan👍🏽
One of the greatest games I've ever seen. I'm stilled stunned!
What an absolute monster of a game. Montreal put on a clinic. Tremendous comeback story.
That final drive was insane
That was heat of moment, desperate dramatic attempt, so human, even to last seconds he tried to make effort. I loved that.
Un défilé à Montreal.. Oh Miracle!
Maas is a great coach.
I had my American friends over to watch this. Great game! Everybody really enjoyed it!
Wish I had been there 🏈 🏆 🍁 congratulations alouettes 2023 CFL champions
It's much better than American football.
They are both good, but different. I can enjoy them both.
@@bearpitt No, it isn't. The CFL is puntfest with rosters comprised of NFL rejects.
@@FischerFan Enjoy your NFL snore fest.
Great highlights package, thank you CFL.
Congratulations To The Montréal Alouettes From America! 🇺🇸🇨🇦
Wow I'm from Montreal and had zero expectation. The end game was mind blowing. Congrats to the Alouettes!
Vive le Québec 🎉🎉🎉
@@sylvainlariviere264 Oui monsieur!
Great game, very exciting, down to the wire action.
As a Canadian living in California, I always try to watch the Grey Cup. I didn't get to see it this year. Glad I saw the highlights. Great game! But did anyone else notice how many monstrous hits there were in this game? It seemed like every other play someone was getting lit up. Great football Canada!!
CFL+ is their new streaming service, that’s how I watched this game last night. Free to sign up for next year
Montreal was lighting fools up 😂
Fajardo and Philbot picked a good time to channel the spirit of Anthony Calvillo to Ben Cahoon
My brother and I both had on our Ben Cahoon jerseys at our first Grey Cup game. Nosebleed seats but good enough. I'm still looking to buy a Calvillo. Greatest quarterback ever. But I love Fajardo!
bet that AC loved the outcome !
@@garyholt8315 hes the OC, look at that! lol I don't watch the CFL, but i do remember Calvillo coming to my elementary school in the 3rd grade
Congratulations Montreal, you earned this 100%. A well played game by both teams and a fantastic display of how good CFL ball can be. Lions fan here.
I was hoping for a Lions/Alouettes final.
This was my first season watching the CFL in almost 20 years. It was a special season. Congrats to the Allouttes on winning the Grey Cup 🏆!!! I honestly didn't give the Allouttes a snowballs chance in hell of winning it. I was like ok they beat the best regular season team, so no way they beat a team playing in the last 4 Grey Cups. But absolutely gritty performance at the end of the season into the playoffs. The team that peaks last usually peaks best. Congrats Montreal 👏👏👏
After many year not watching Alouete after Calvillo was gone i watched this one ans it was EPIC Bravo Montréal
Les alouettes le méritait la dernière fois qu’ils ont gagné la coupe Grey j’étais au stade Olympic pour la demi finale
That was a heck of a great game.
An old CFL Baltimore Stallions fan says well done Montreal.
That was better than any NFL game I have seen this season! I'm gonna need to watch more Canadian Football from now on!
Same dude ! Never gave the CFL a chance this shit is sick af to watch
From CALIFORNIA.SAN CARLOS..This game gave me chills.Great Athletism by Ento.Great last minute clutch play by The ALS!!!! LOVE MONTREAL A GREAT CITY TO VISIT!! A GREAT TEAM FOR THE AGES!!!
Congratulations to the Alouettes. And a big thank you to both teams for a very entertaining game.
Congratulations to the Montreal Alouettes! Great perserverence and wow... what an amazing/exciting Grey Cup game to watch, the CFL is awesome!
Man that Montreal defence is something! What run they’ve had
Adding Lemon and Sankey solidified their defense.
Beast linebacker, and good atletic safety i think is the key
Félicitations aux Alouettes de Montréal de Melbourne Australie 🎉
New Canadians deserve to know CFL exists. (I first watched the Grey Cup in 1988 as a newcomer seeing the BC Lions losing a heartbreaker while having no clue about what things like "third down gamble" meant back then.) 😂
I wasn't sure if the Eastern Final was a fluke but now I know it wasn't. GO ALS GO!!!
Great game. Love seeing Fajardo finding success. Als beat the weather, the refs and the bombers. Congrats.
What a good game...back and forth...very exciting
this was more exciting then most NFL games.
As a Winnipegger, That TD pass froze and broke me simultaneously But ggs Montreal and congratulations Fejardo, his story reminds me so much of when Collaros first year in WPG after getting traded twice that same year
What a fabulously exciting Canadian style football game. Oh Baby! Well done! - to both teams. Thanks for hosting - Hamilton.
That was an amazing game !!!!!!!
Congrats to the Alouettes! What a great comeback. 😃
You guys north of the 49th play some damn good metric football up there. Congrats Montreal, and what a game! I love how wide open the Canadian game is compared to ours.
The NFL isn’t too bad either…
I'm a nfl fan/chiefs fan but the way this league is going with the refs I might have to start watching the CFL.@@davidmccaig6647
@davidmccaig6647 but our quarterbacks have more space to run
metric football I cackled
These CFL players can ball man
What a win! Félicitations Montréal 🎉

The only cfl game I watch all season,... completely worth it once again! Shoutout tsn for the top tier coverage too!
Maybe you will watch more now😊
You should watch more! Lots of amazing games during the season.
Great game and Congrats to the Montreal Alouettes on their 8th Grey Cup win!
Amazing conclusion! Cheers to Montreal from a devoted Blue Bomber supporter!
Add more expansion teams next year! Watching from Philadelphia 🧐
The last 2 Montreal plays to win were spectacular.
Last 3. I would add Fajardo 13 yard run to that.
Epic!
Congratulations to the Montreal Alouettes. Fantastic game for gridiron.
Great game. Glad to see Montreal back on top because it's been a while. They looked tremendous.
What a game! Spectacular plays on both sides (that end zone INT was a circus catch) and everyone fighting to the end. Congratulations to Montreal, on a storybook season!
The grey cup never disappoints!
Incredible game. Unbelievable amount of spectacular plays.
I'm so proud of Montreal I'm a BC boy but a team they said would be dead last with all new players showed up to play with heart
Dont forget a new Owner :)
Nice to see my former Baltimore Stallions win it all.
Two weeks in a row, very few gave my team a chance. Go Als! Congrats boys!
A classic Grey Cup. Great victory by Montreal. LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOO 🏈⭐️🏈⭐️🏈⭐️🏈
😲GREAT GAME. Montreal big hits changed everything.
The CFL is so entertaining. Amazing finishes to so many of the games. Loved the game (even as a TiCat fan).
I'm from America 🇺🇸 finna start watching CFL! 💪
you wont regret it
@@andretrepanier8170 yea more people should watch American Football 🏈 around! The world like other leagues like CFL instead of NFL 🏈 all the time! Have to try something new!
@@tyreseneal CFL isn't your typical american football league. It's called Canadian Football League for a reason as it a league for canadian football. It's similar to american but has lots of differences too.
@@teo_heel I know I heard Of CFL! Before! I watched it before! But the problem Is the Hype Of The CFL! And The Number! Of! Teams! Is The Problem!
@@teo_heel But really it's just the hype! If more! People watched it like the NFL! And if the grey cup 🏆 was! Trending! Then I be more! Excited! To watch it the number! Of teams! Really don't bother! Me!
Great team won the last eight games of the season, played with passion and determination, well deserved win congratulations the 2023 Grey Cup Champion Montreal Alouettes !! GO ALS GO !!
American here, a few things I found interesting is that you allow 12 players on the field at a time, running starts for the receivers, and that field is huge!!
And three downs, of course.
@@teo_heel haha yes that was something I was previously aware of.
And a one yard no man's land at the snap.
yeah there is so much space !
@@peterkossits4794 Yeah, I was watching these highlights and kept thinking, "wait, those receivers are illegally downfield!" There's just enough differences in the Canadian game to make it interesting for us Americans to learn. There were more spectacular catches in that one game than in a whole weekend of NFL highlights!
put some respect on my alouettes TSN you guys had us finishing 9th
Wow! Amazing game by both teams!
What a terrific game - well done Montreal! Hope to see my Lions there next year.
This game was insane, everything about the Grey Cup this year was fantastic. Green Day half time show, and the Als come back with 10 seconds left! LETS GOO
Incredible receiving catches on both teams
Congratulations to Cody and the ALs , as a die hard rider fan I wanted Cody to stay with us and wasn’t happy how he was treated, so happy he won , I was rooting for him !
It was best the grey cup game i ever watch
*MY ALOUETTES ARE BACK* and awesome to see an old high school teammate win one as well.
That was definitely an AWESOME championship game from my beloved CFL, greetings from Hungry Valley ranch and a fan from birth of CFL, no matter who is really playing, game is great snd host cities are very awesome as it's always a good time! Myself a BC Lions fan for life but Montreal has always been my second pick, since the 80's... like last years game, spectactular I try to watch ALL CFL games... love it
Guy in Argo jersey behind us congratulated my brother and me (in Alouette gear) at the end of the game. A real good sport. Back to the game. Terrible roughing call on Collaros by Montreal early. Could have made the difference. Montreal showed real grit to come back. Way to go, Als. (My first Grey Cup game). Final observation. A lot of Tiger Cat outfits. More than for any other team. I must say, they do support the CFL.
Two calls were questionnable, the one you mestionned and I would add the fumball that was ruled a incomplete pass. Great match.
The game was in Hamilton. That explains the jerseys.
We had a group of 11 people watching this game, and I’ve heard fewer sounds louder than my house when the Alouettes scored the game winner. We are all Riders fans so we were so excited to see the Bombers drop a 2nd straight Cup
I watch it in a discord group with some other people... I was SHAKING when Montreal scored a game-winning TD.
Who cares you live in Saskatchewan? I’d rather be dead if I lived there.
@@babyyoda6549😂
@@babyyoda6549 I personally have never lived in Saskatchewan but the rest of my family has so we kinda have roots there. It would just be wrong for us to cheer for someone else

Kudos to Als. They came to Hamilton to win the cup & they did it with brio.
Wow what a game. Was on the edge of my seat last 2 min, so glad al's win. Also winnipeg fans are classy, can understand a great game unlike Toronto
What an upset! Great game
Hate to see the season end. You can always count on fireworks in the CFL!
What an end to an incredible season... I would have never bet a nickel on Montreal but they decided to get flying at the best time !
Much better than any NFL game period.
CFL is so fun to watch! Underrated league. Cheers from Kansas
I remember it was the mid to late 80s, and basically, every Grey Cup game was like this. Close, last-minute heroics, etc. At this time, every Super Bowl was just the opposite, blow out after blow out. The amount of Grey Cup coverage on American sports shows was insane. It went 3 or 4 years in a row like that. This is a great league!
Lets go Montréal on ramène la coupe à la maisonnnnn !!!
j'ai l'impression que ce sont les seuls a pouvoir le faire avec les carabins a montreal 😅
What an incredible game! As much as it hurts to fall short of a dynasty, I've gotta hand it to the Als, they came ready to play tonight with stellar defense and made us pay for our mistakes with the football. The Bombers once again choke on the biggest stage and didn't deserve this one. Als earned every bit of this gritty win. Congrats MTL! We'll get em next year.
I don't think that Winnipeg choked (see: Toronto)
@@stephenp.6395 they didn’t choke nearly as bad as Toronto, but they still gave up multiple 10 point leads.
wow..Montreal had a huge upset season....but came back to take the Grey Cup..is truly insane 🙃😎..Congrats Montreal💪💪
Wow what an awesome game.
Well, Als fans, we waited long enough, 13 years, and that was glorious!
What a season , what a Grey Cup! So looking forward to next season already. Going to bring my son to BC for his first road Grey Cup. Argooooooooos
This was a good Grey Cup game, hard fought by both championship teams. Congrats to the Montreal Alouettes on their win.
Montreal's 3rd n 5 conversation going deep showed me how bad they wanted to win and not playing for ot the td throw showed they wanted it more. Bottom line they totally took chances and wanted that win and got rewarded for playing for the W and not for ot near the end
WOW!!!! That seemed better than a LOT o super bowls!
The city of the Grey cup And Stanley cup!
Old school football where you can still hit the QB. I love it.
For me this is one of the best season stories... Watching them out since the regular season on how Cody would work out.. how they improved over time and eventually knocking out the two best season teams to get this Grey Cup win... They deserved this so much after all those doubt and hate season long... Congratulations Montreal 👏👏 fought real hard till the end
Great game. CFL - best football
Another instamt CFL classic. Well done...Entertaining game, entertaining halftime show. Perfect night for football up in the north. Good stuff.
