Competitors should understand unsportsmanlike like behavior as being disrespectful. But sometimes it is taken too far. In soccer they stopped letting us even wear a bow in our hair with the team colors. How does a bow hurt feelings?
Not a big surprise. I joined a "friendly old guys" softball league once and to be different put fuchsia colored laces in my cleats. Half the guys on my team wouldn't sit next to me after that. No wonder girls drop out of some sports before they're 25, why bother.

Dumbest rules need to change in the swimming event. So what he crossed over his lap was clearly over and the guy next to him that he went into was done so it shouldn't have made any difference as it was no interference to anyone. Who cares if not everyone completed race if they were many lanes away it had no effect on their time. So dumb. Whoever came up with that rule has no brains and no common sense. Need to get rid of that rule or use their discretion.
