As of today, March 18th, 2024, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is officially 10 years old. Its successor and latter half, The Phantom Pain, will be 9 years old on the 1st of September this year.
This video commemorates all the story elements in MGSV, and tries to put them together in a cohesive music video with the Duran Duran song, 'INVISIBLE'.
Recently people from the MGSV community have been using this song to make edits and music videos, so I figured I'd also chip in and do my part.

I am not typically a fan of game edits I usually find a lot of them to be kinda cringe and more often miss the point of the game or character that they are about. But holy fuck this video is good the music fits so well it's well edited (obviously) and there is such a clear display of understanding of this games themes and characters. My absolute favourite part is around the end with Snakes monologue about not being able to see world peace in his lifetime yet working towards it regardless then transitioning to the mirror scene absolute chills. Absolute masterpiece.
Boss wasn't an identity he made, boss wasn't an identity Snake made, Boss is a ROLE to fill and has been since the beginning. And so, he did. And he proved that he was worthy enough for the orientation of Solid.

Damn, I wish I had known about this video some time ago. Either way, you did a pretty good job making the definitive version of all edits for this song and game. You, my friend, are the best. You are Big Boss. Your legacy will not be forgotten.
Holy shit, this edit is great, and I can't believe after all this time I've only just picked up on the hint that Ocelot drops. He was given two jobs, to get "you" out of that hospital. The second, "to save the man himself".

I actually had to look up a guide to find the cassete type for it on the island in Act 3 before the Eli boss fight. Put it on Pequod ever since. Never regret.

honestly i think invisible kind of fits venom snake more than the man who sold the world because venom snake is the same as big boss so venom snake doesn't exist to anyone only big boss therefore he is invisible
i see the song more as the inner dialogue venom has with himself when he's reflecting at the end in the mirror. like he's thinking about everything he's done building diamond dogs and outer heaven and wondering if living in the shadow of big boss really was what he wanted, because it turned venom into a shell of his former personality -- the medic -- and forced him to become a demon. all for big boss, who was fighting all for the boss, who was fighting for peace ironic, isn't it?
i see what u mean about how invisible fits venom snake, but I wouldn't say it fits more than the man who sold the world, esp. the cover version used in the game. using the cover symbolizes the original man who sold the world and further solidifies that phantom pain feeling. just as bowie is not the person singing, venom is not the person masquerading as big boss.
