BAJA CALIFORNIA SUR MEXICO ROAD TRIP - La Paz, Cerritos, Santiago, Cabo Pulmo & MORE!
I drove/camped/fished/surfed, 3 times, from Ca all the way down to Cabo San Lucas, and back, back in the late 80s-early 90s. We ate tacos, drank Pacifico and Dos Equis, and went down the tiniest of roads to the most remote campsites. I had a very detailed topographical map that showed the smallest of dirt roads. I remember camping at 28 Paralelo “El Águila”/Guerrero Negro "The Eagle" ( we climbed it ) and doing some whale watching from the cliffs. The night we were there the wind must have been blowing 50 mph. We had to stuff anything we could get a hold of under one side of the car and sleep on the other side so it would somewhat protect us. Mulege was one of my favorite places on the entire trip. The most beautiful beach/cove with no buildings except 8, 3 sided, palapas for camping. The town itself was beautiful, too. I remember all the old rock/stone buildings and the detail that was in them. Our final campsite was in San Jose Del Cabo. I think there were only 3 hotels back then so there were hardly any people down there. We stayed there for about 7-10 days and would hitch rides into Cabo San Lucas at night, drink, eat, go to Squid Roe and the Giggling Marlin. I think those were the only 2 bars in town at that time. So much fun.
550 pesos? That's 32 USD? We used to get 5 fish tacos, from vendors, for 1 USD and a bucket, 8, beers for 4 USD. That was 30+ years ago though.
Love the mutual curiosity between people and whales! What a magical experience!
We do too! Such remarkable creatures!

Guys, that's why Jacques Cousteau, name the sea of California, the aquarium of the world.

Why were there so many dead crawfish?
As of May 4, 2024, the U.S. Department of State has been advising Americans to reconsider travel to Baja California, Mexico due to crime and kidnapping. This warning is part of a travel advisory for Mexico that has been in effect since late August 2023. Im not sure why anyone would travel to this county at all when us government puts out warnings
But some gringos saying I don’t go to Mexico because the US government says is to Dangerous 😂
It's due to the cartels but most in northern Mexico.
.It enrages me that any of our species feel entitled to encroach on these beautiful creatures while they struggle for their existence. I am blessed to have worked in an industry that has peacefully coincided with whales worldwide, many years with CSL a great Canadian addition to worldwide shipping...I live now on the Sunshine Coast in BC and am blessed with many sights of Orcas and others...they deserve their peace and views....from afar
Whales are our friends and should be respected, we have been having an increase of orca sightings off the California coast and in Puget Sound lately so it seems to be a good sign they are making a come back.
Have been out to see the grey whales many times. We never have approached the whales… the whales approach the boats at their discretion. We have been out when the whales have brought their babies to the boat and both put their heads up onto the boats…. Never have approached the whales ourselves
Tell me about all the secret places, so there will be no more!
PleSw Don ccum stay with donal trump 😊
Yeah no people just got murdered there by thugs
Don't Call it "BAJA" (baha) . . . Because It has no sense! It's like saying "Come to new" . . New what? new jersey ? york??? orleans???? .... Baja it's not a name!
Be wary so you don't end up decapitated and dumped in a ditch.
good tour!!!
Thanks 😊
