  • I loved your video. I have wondered how you put the loop on the balls that mark your traps. I really loved your demonstration of splicing a line and had not seen that done since I was a kid. I was too young to understand how it was done but your demonstration made it easy. Sure enough you could tie a knot but splicing does look much neater and I think is stronger in the long run. I cannot wait to see Joyce's anniversary traps in action. What a fabulous gift.

    • I enjoy working with rope, it takes a little more time than knots but to me it's worth it, also you can make your own dock lines the same way instead of buying them. We really appreciate you watching, and your comments.

  • My uncle here in Mississippi used to put crab bait(fish, chicken etc.) In tin cans with salted chicken broth then freeze them. By the time we got to drop the traps, the bait came right out of the can easy but still frozen 👍

  • Loved your video. I was surprised that the haul line is tied to the rebar on the bottom of the trap. Is there a trick to keeping the rebar side down on the bottom if you lower the trap that way?

    @rockenrick@rockenrick11 ай бұрын
    • It puts less strain on the trap. You just drop it in the water rebar end first.

Another great video btw...
