It's Halloween season! So it's time to talk scary movies. This is my picks for my 10 favorite horror films. These aren't the 10 BEST horror films. They are my personal favorites. Also, I focused on the movies I think of when I think horror. So I left out movies like Jaws, The Terminator or Silence of the Lambs which could be considered horror (and which I love) but which aren't the movies I typically think of when I think horror movies.

Great idea.....or greatest idea!
@Sean Chandler Talks About nah seriously on April 1st you should do a joke review of a really garbage movie and say how good it is or a review of a really good movie and say it’s bad
Sean Chandler Talks About I’m so glad I got in on this early this gonna watch though
DFB guide?
@@myiqis2752 like that Cat and The Hat movie in the early 2000s
"This nice Scooby Doo reveal" *Shows the actor who played Shaggy in the Scooby Doo movies* Was that intentional?
Nope. Haha
My favorites: 1. The Shining 2. The Exorcist 3. HalloweeN
The classics
Needs Psycho though
@@ktongmm yeah i realy love theme
Which Halloween? 1978, 2007 or 2019?
@@jakobknudsen4453 probably 1978
Here is my top 10: 10. Psycho 9. The Exorcist 8. The Shining 7. The Thing 6. Scream 5. Alien 4. A Nightmare on Elm Street 3. Carrie 2. Jaws 1. Halloween

@@shrimpman4609 41 years later and it still holds up so well. I just wish that we didn't have so many sequels because some of them really disrespect the original.
I think the Series got bad after the 4th one but Even still the 2nd 3rd and 4th are just ok. 5th and 6th Are dumpster fires but 2018 was 👌
@@shrimpman4609 I agree. 2018 was the most necessary film and it was really good. And let's not get get start on Resurrection.
Resurrection and Rob zombies Halloween 2 are terrible and H20 and Robs Halloween are Guilty by association
The Shining, Alien and The Thing are my favourites
Arthur Fleck which one 1982 or 2011
Agreed
Same here
*Shining
@@Matthew-dg6le thanks man👊
I haven’t seen enough horror movies 1: The shinning - genuinely terrifying without any cheap techniques. 2. Silence of the lamps - you can’t tell me this isn’t a horror movie. Dr is just straight insane which really messes with me. 3. American phycho - Calling this a horror movie might be a stretch but whatever 4. IT - When it comes to horror I’m usually a bigger fan of more realistic scenarios, but penny wise just sends chills down my spine. 5. Psycho - whenever I watch this I get the feeling of being stalked it’s the most terrifying thing ever
Silence of the lambs and The Shining are my Top 2 as well
American Psycho is a slasher so it does count as horror
JD Nah I agree with the OC, it’s one of my favourite movies ever but calling it a Horror movie is a massive stretch...hell IMDB doesn’t even consider it a horror and it has a pretty loose definition of what movies are deemed ‘horror’
@@jaievans6655 yeah I can see that it's more of a thriller I suppose
Adintie silence of the lamps > silence of the lambs
1: The Shining 2: Nightmare on Elm street 3: The Thing 4: Halloween 5: Hereditary -
My heart skipped a beat when you said You’re Next is one of your favorites! It’s my favorite horror movie and usually isn’t in anyone’s top ten! Thank you, Sean!
It’s such a great little film
I love this movie it’s so good and so underrated still to this day has had the best movie trailer of all time. Seriously yo this day it’s such a good trailer and movie. The score might be one of the best
10: Scream 9: Hellraiser 8: Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn 7: Psycho 6: The Shining 5: The Exorcist 4: Friday the 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter 3: A Nightmare on Elm Street 1984 2: Halloween 1978 1: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974
The original TCM was so far ahead of its time
Nice List.
My list: 1. The Shining 2. IT 3. A nightmare on elm street 4. The conjuring 5. Saw
Josh Hunter Nice to see some love for Saw
Saw! Yeah!
I actually prefer Saw VI and II

The conjuring should be higher but cool list!
By far my favorite horror movies are Scream, The Shining, and Psycho.

My personal Top 10: 1. Alien (1979) 2. The Shining (1980) 3. Psycho (1960) 4. The Silence of the Lambs (1991) (I know it's debatable whether it's Horror or not but I think it is) 5. Event Horizon (1997) 6. Jaws (1975) 7. Carrie (1976) 8. Hereditary (2018) 9. It Follows (2014) 10. Us (2019)
wow great list👍
Us gave me chills...
Solid list, I dont understand why people liked Us so much though. Get out is great but Us was very disappointing for me.
A fellow fan of psychological horror I see
Good list, but I would consider Alien more of a science fiction thriller
Thanks for sharing your list Sean. My favorites include: 1. Perfect Blue 2. Oculus 3. Little Shop of Horrors (1986) 4. The Cabin in the Woods 5. Shaun of the Dead 6. Scream 7. The Shining 8. My top 5 are: 1. The shining 2. Aliens 3. Child's Play 4. The thing 5. Get out
Aliens isn't horror
@Alex Pitt action horror
Get Out isn’t horror either imo
@@indep_ if it's not horror what is it?
I feel like Aliens could be considered horror, but I do t consider it horror The OG Alien is definitely horror tho
My Top 5 1. Halloween (1978) 2. The Shining 3. It 4. The Terminator (don’t know if it counts but whatever) 5. Nightmare on Elmstreet
ShellShocked I wouldn’t count Terminator but you do you, man
Tom Ffrench I guess the one scene at the end sort of resembles horror
ShellShocked terminator does have some scary elements but no I’d consider it a sci-fi action
BenC Same, with one kinda scary scene I wouldn’t personally consider that horror
@Tom Ffrench I would say it is because it has elements/ attempts at horror. Plus, scarriness is subjective so not the same stuff scares everybody
My List: (I just enjoy these movies personally) 10: Halloween 9: Nightmare On Elm Street 8: Jaws 7: Friday The 13th 6: Child’s Play 2 5: Alien 4: Psycho 3: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2: Nightmare On Elm Street 1: Child’s Play 1988

My Top 5 1: IT (2017) 2: Crawl 3: Shaun of the Dead 4: The Ritual 5: Halloween
Alex Pitt Well according to critics and audience and myself it wasn’t
I loved Crawl, don't really think it was a horror movie though.
TH Cubes I include it as a horror movie cause it’s Rated-R, Bloody, Jump Scares, and if you were in that kind of situation, you would be terrified for life

Hey Sean! Just wanna say again that i appreciate your videos! I have anxiety and i overthink a lot, which doesn’t help. Today i had a pretty bad anxiety attack, but i always watch your videos to make me feel better. I start to sweat when i’m around a lot of people, and today i was told to read in front of the entire glass, and they started laughing and teasing me about how nervous i looked. When i got home i just started crying and i was shaking too, i went straight to your videos and it helped me quite a lot!

GREAT ranking Sean! I actually just finished watching Scream just no, and then I find that you made a video on ranking your top 10 favorite horror movies, so it was perfect timing. Scream and it's sequels all put together makes for the slasher-horror series within the horror genre that is my personal favorite, and is your as well fantastically enough! Tbh though, I mostly forget that this film is also a whodunit mystery film because of the fact that it's also a slasher horror movie, so when I do remember or are reminded of that it makes the series even better. Great, great fantastic video and I'll see you in your next video.

I respected hereditary more than enjoyed it. Liked conjuring 1 more than 2 and only included one film from each franchise. Good taste, Chandler. Awesome picks. Some of your honorable mentions are actually in my top . . . 10! Sinister (scariest theater experience) 9: The Omen (really dig the atmosphere, Final Destination like deaths, and the soundtrackkk) 8: Alien (that android plot twist tho; also inspired one of my fav horror survival games “Dead Space” 7: Trick ‘r Treat (love how everything ties up into a nice tight package in the end) 6: The Thing (made me fall in love with practical effects in films) 5: The Cabin in the Woods (such a great deconstruction of the genre and what audiences expect from it) 4: Misery (Kathy Bates tho) 3: mother! (i was just riveted from start to finish - not sorry ‘bout it) 2: Get Out (amazing tension throughout, especially that third act) 1: The Descent (my absolute definite fav 🖤) *H O N O R A B L E M E N T i O N* - - A Quiet Place (a perfect horror movie for non-horror fans; fireworks scene gave me legit chills)
5. Exorcist 3 4. The Fly 3. Halloween 2. Black Christmas 1. The Shining
Really The Exorcist 3… I mean I respect it but that’s the first time I’ve heard that
" let's have a nice fun discussion about this genre that we all love " Very powerful sentence that is underrated i think :) people hate to much on others for not liking their favorite horror movies. We are not enemies, we share the same love for horror!!
