Meh. MGS has already had a remake on Gamecube, Kojima is no longer part of Konami and Bluepoint seems to work only for Sony although it is an independent studio. Imo it's unrealistic to think about it. A remake of Demon's Souls or any license owned by Sony makes more sense.

They have yet to disappoint me; the MGS HD Collection & ICO/SotC on PS3 were fantastic, I just finished Gravity Rush Remastered, and now I'm looking forward to this remake more than any other game currently on the horizon.
The Inconcievable Glueman They disappointed me with that meager Uncharted remaster. It may have looked better and had 60fps but they added a ton of bugs and quirks that wasn't in the original game.
They're one of the few console exclusive developers other than Nintendo who still take 60fps seriously.
They are ready to make their own projects
I hope they already start working on Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy for PS5 or whatever they'll call it. Those games are beautiful but sorely need 60fps mode.

Nope. He whines way too much about framerate and blows its importance completely out of proportion. Also, he makes the mistake in these reviews of spending more time highlights the games issues than he does its positives. No matter how infrequent the issues are, he'll still spend the same amount of time talking about the negatives as a game with lots of issues, or a moderate amount.

I thought the same, but if you have 4k oled game looks insane, those texture details in cinematic mode not to be missed for slight drop in fps!! same goes for Last Guardian

But the remake kind of shits on the the original's art style and feel, as well. The dreamy bloom is gone, the color palette is too "realistic" and so on; the visual atmosphere of the original is almost completely gone. Even the colossi look worse (in my opinion).
Man, it really looks unbelievable at times, everything is perfect, plus 60fps, oh and that music... This will be such a pleasure to play.
Charm of old game encased in new modern engine, displayed at 60 fps . What more could you want on a remake ?
The charm is completely absent though. Everything is too bright and alive, it's not SUPPOSED to look clear and bright and colorful. It's supposed to look like a fading dream realm with dead grass that hasn't been explored for eons.

+Antiform It's because of people like you that we can't have nice things. I'M SURE that if the game was created today that Ueda would add grass over his game because the console can do that. The Playstation 2 was a weak console, so adding grass to the game would make the game almost unplayable. The fog was only truly there because again, the PS2 was weak. It can't render all the details in the distance so adding fog helped the game for running in a ''decent'' framerate. You're the same type of person that will critics the mind of artistic creation like George Lucas with The Phantom Menace. If nobody would have complained about the movie, then we would have one of the best plot twist in the franchise but noooooo, fanboys like you will always complain for HIMSELF, and that's a true shame.
And would Picasso have drawn his paintings with normal proportions if he had better paint? What kind of stupid crap is that? SOTC looked perfectly fine on PS3 and on emulator it looks much better than this. This looks like a different game. It looks like one of those fangames where they take an old PS1 or N64 title and then remake it in Unity with newer models. Like yeah it looks ""better"" in the sense of having smoother edges and brighter lighting but that isn't automatic improvement. If I bought a sculpted reproduction of Michaelangelo's David, I wouldn't want them adding clothes and accessories to it just because sculpting them is EASIER now than it was in the creator's time. Ridiculous.
This game was well ahead of it's time when first released, it's heartening to see so much care and attention put into this remake.

This remaster looks absolutely stunning, Bluepoint has done a fantastic job once again.
It's a REMAKE. Not a remaster. Learn the difference. Did you play CoD 4 remastered? Because that could explain why you don't know the difference. CoD 4 was falsely titled. It was technically a remake.

@@supergamer1870 it is not a remaster. remastering is polishing an already existing game up like shadow of the colossus for the ps3. A remake is remaking an already existing game up from scratch. Like rayman revolution, tomb raider anniversary, shadow of the colossus 2018. However, not all remakes have to be the same like their original. Tomb Raider Anniversary for instance uses remade levels but somehow different, but the story is the same and it's levels are close to its original design. Rayman Revolution uses a complete different game engine than its original and REMASTERING some levels up like replacing 2d sprites with 3d moddels and added some polygons into the rayman moddel. Also they added and removed some content. Like the hall of doors (removed) and the teensie circle (added) Shadow of the Colossus had been remade like an exact copy of its original. But with new technology and a complete new game engine (which was explained in the video) However, they kept the main game exact the same. Music included (which is REMASTERED)
If you haven’t played this game, do yourself a massive solid and play it.

You can always tell within the first 5 seconds when its John conducting an analysis. The presentation is a cut above the rest. Good job DF. You guys all rock.
one of my fondest memories of shadow of the colossus wasn't actually any of the boss fights, nor the story. it was exploring the world and finding massive pieces of land that served absolutely no gameplay purpose, but rich in atmosphere. I remember a specific area in particular, I don't remember where, but it was this giant grassland with a pond and a tree in the middle. there was absolutely nothing of importance in it, but the fact that it existed made the world feel far more alive and believable than any game I've ever played (before or since)
Never played Shadow Of the Colossus before so i'm pretty hyped as i've heard great things :)

Yup, the thrill of looking for the next colossi and getting chills when I felt I am getting near. The beauty of the first playthrough was you had no idea what you will run into and how to defeat it. Sometimes I just stood there watching the colossus, wandering how the fuck do they expect me to kill that

It gives me great pride having experienced this masterpiece when it originally released. Seeing the comparison still fills me with awe, the memories are so real it transcended the medium we simply call video games.

MadFinnTech true but I don't think any console would be able to do that. Maybe one x, but I don't think it would be at native 4k. Also theres a trend with games that run in 60 fps on pro and such, all of them are not demanding on the CPU, the CPU is always the bottleneck in most games if they try to go above 30

It's interesting. Consoles will always be underpowered.but when it comes to effort and talent that comes into these passion projects , it almost doesn't matter. May it be Mario Kart 8, Horizon Zero dawn, or halo 5. These games look amazing and hardware was just the platform it was made on.

Do you remember what bungie told to the gamer community , if they make destiny 2 60fps on console they need to cut the open world game designed into half, this will affect pc port,. :( remember now a days almost all AAA developer are using base console to make games,. That is why majority of the pc games are port from ps4 and xbox one in mind..

As a Xbox gamer sike!!! I play on all consoles but mostly Xbox. This game is a god damn. MASTERPIECE. Any body that talks trash about this has no taste, and they're not a gamer. May not be your type of game, but that does not warrant you right to talk about it especially if you've never played. Truly beautiful remarkable game. A pure classic.

Agreed. If any one game needs to be remade, this is the one! And remasters can comfortably co-exist alongside all the new games. As there are more new games coming out for PS4/Pro and PSVR this year, than for Xbox one and Switch combined. So no need for anyone at all to decry this as causing lack of new games. Just dont buy remakes/remasters, if that isn’t your thing. Simples!

Buying this on day one PURELY because of the visual options on PS4 Pro (namely a 60fps mode). EVERY game should have this option!
Last console I had was a PS2, and that's like I dont know how many years ago. Ever since I've been a pc gamer, but this remake made me buy a PS4 just for that. Totally worth it, the console also has some great first party games.

they ruined the forgotten land atmosphere though. the lack of fog and the lushness of the grass makes it seem like a happy place which it isn't meant to be. If you prefer the melancholic vibe which fits the narrative i'd get the ps3 version (if you can handle frustrating physics , otherwise a ps2 :P)

Bluepoint is an awesome company. They did a great job with the MGS HD Collection for Xbox 360, PS3 and PS Vita. The vita version does have some occasional dips in fps, but i still love playing it. I would love to see bluepoint come back to release a MGS HD Collection for the Nintendo Switch. The work they did on the Nathan Drake Collection for PS4 is also outstanding. They could have left all games as is and released the games in higher resolution, but actually polishing up the first game so that it looks allot more on par with the 2nd and 3rd game visually just amazes me of how dedicated they are to their craft. I own SOTC/ICO collection remastered on PS3, but i still haven't gotten around to playing those games. Now with this remake i will likely play this game and last guardian at one point cause this just looks amazing.

I think all the idiots going on about it being an empty world, boring etc have never played the original title. This game was a very special experience back when it released and I'm eager to play it again with such a visual and performance overhaul.

Im a xbox gamer but i wont bullshit when impressed...this looks beautiful! Comparing the 3 versions just shows how far we have come in gaming.
The soundtrack still gives me goose bumps and seeing Agro galloping through the grassland still brings me joy. What a wonderful game.

Great video, thanks guys. I'm so excited to play this at 60FPS, and it's super impressive they were able to double the framerate on the pro version. I'm guessing the sparse world simulation isn't too CPU intensive.

I would normally agree, but I specifically locked Hellblade to 30fps so I could max out the settings and run it Super-sampled @1620p. The gameplay isn't very fast-paced and I feel the graphics of that game are more important than most games.

Bought the complete edition a while ago and the game is serious fun, love the fights against those mechs :) Im a Soulsborne fan too, Demons and DS1 are still my most beloved games of all time :-) Are you planning on buying the DS1 remaster?
yes, 2 times, 1 for switch 1 for pc, im mostly a pc gamer, so i just get exclusives for my consoles but since switch is portable is kinda beating my laptop lol
