  • I have always known farmers & ranchers work on tight margins and it's got to be a great sense of pride to be able to get some newer equipment to help cut the back-breaking work to a manageable level. Glad to see you using your KZhead money to expand your family farm/ranch by showing the city folk how much effort is put into feeding our nation's citizens 🎉🎉

  • OMG, Has it really been 4 years?? Such an entertaining channel Cole and I have watched it grow and grow. I had to chuckle when you moved the grain cart with the fork truck, it really put the size into context. That little clave had you on the run when he skee-daddled with the net wrap. I would have put a cloth lifting strap around the forks when lifting the backhoe attachment, hook the chains to it and then you dont have risky metal to metal....you taught me the saying......DANGER DOESNT TAKE A DAY OFF lol. Thank you for spending huge amounts of time making these videos Cole so we can be a part of every day Sonne life.

    • It was a close call if those storms would have went more west, but I think you got more rain and wind than other places around the area of your neck of the open fields of south Dakota, I live in northern Wisconsin near lake Superior's south shore and we got a lot of rain and thunderstorms and winds off lake Superior's south shore 25 mph with gusts up to 40, and then the cold weather came and warmer for the rest of the week into May, (May 1st outdoor sex starts today!!) Lol

If you can get a bale fork for the bucket that will be great. Nice unit. That calf you are bottle feeding came running right up to you. Cute as can be. Should be ok calf. That calf that took off running with that bale wrap was cute also. And you running after it. Cute. Your ground is really wet. Wet conditions in this video. Wow. You must have had a lot of rain. I hope your folks are having a great mini vacation in Florida. Great job Cole of moving all of the equipment to get the planter out of the shed. You had lots of equipment to move. Got the planter out and reset it for planting corn. Good job Cole. Should be about ready to go it looks like. Hook it up and start putting corn seed in the ground-yeah!!!!!! About it I guess. Thanks for everything Cole. Take care and be safe. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.

  • For the mice, get yourself a pickle bucket...a dowel rod and a jar of peanut butter. To make the trap drill a hole the size of the dowel rod through the top of the bucket on both sides near the top. Do the same with the peanut butter jar from the center of the cap down through the center of the bottom of the jar. Drill a bunch of smaller holes in the side of the peanut butter jar, the jar needs to be mostly empty so it spins easily. Thread the dowel rod through the side of the bucket then though the jar and out the other side of the bucket. Fill the bottom of the bucket with water. Hope this helps...best mouse trap I've ever used. You could maximize it's efficiency by installing multiple traps. Just make sure you check the traps daily or the mice start to rot. In the winter you can use anti-freeze, it pickles the mice and they wont rot but then they're poisonous.

  • We have some farmers down the way from us and they sell their own honey, eggs and all kinds of veggies. When I go down there it's a rainbow of colors. Red, blue, green, white, black...so I asked him what was his brand loyalty. He told me whatever is available, priced right and what we need. Other than that, there is no preference. Which is just the opposite of my uncle. His farm is 100% John Deere green. If JD doesn't make it, he don't need it are his words exactly. I believe I am more towards your system. Try to buy the green stuff, but not at the expense of availability, cost and function. Same with Caterpillar. Yes, they make the best dozer around. But for a lot less, you can buy a Case that gets the job done just fine.

  • Try using some dryer sheets around the combine motor. They will repell the mice! So glad to see you getting great moisture prior to planting!!
