This year’s Met Gala event is going ahead amid fears of disruption by pro-Palestinian protesters who have caused chaos on college campuses. A "citywide day of rage" is scheduled to begin at Hunter College less than a mile from the event. The Met Gala was targeted by climate activist protesters last year. Police are expected to keep any pro-Palestinian groups as far away as possible. "The NYPD will have adequate security deployment," a police statement says.

@abdul9970 protesting overseas has no direct influences on what's done diplomatically by two countries. You can say that you want these things to happen, but they won't just because someone asks for them to.
