In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

"But you're a conscious being." -"Oh I'm so sorry!"
Ed said on the podcast that they were just laughing so hard during this task because of how ridiculous it was. As soon as you hear "Here comes the wine rack!" you can see Ed visibly shaking with laughter.
I swear this is one of my favourite studio banters across all series! “But you’re a conscious being.” “OH IM SO SORRY” “…three sensitivity levels…” “I HAVE THREE SENSITIVITY LEVELS! And I’ll be honest, I’m on my TOP FUCKING ONE RIGHT NOW!”
"Amazing that you knew Operation Seelöwe but couldn't remember the name of Operation"
I’ve got three sensitivity levels!! - Ed
If you have muscles and tendons then surely you are the spring system.
Not to mention ligaments.. Oh. Sorry!
My mom made a life-size Clue game for my Sweet 16. Best party of my life.
*Cluedo
@@icturner23 I'm not British, thanks though.
Ah that’s sweet…. Wait a minute…
And who got murdered?
@@Plexippuspetersi92 my lawyers are advising me not to answer that
Ed and David were an amazing double act in this series. That drawing task has me in stitches every time!
David and Jo were an amazing team but I do really wish Ed and David were on the same team throughout the whole series
@CrunchytheGoblin me too but I don't think they could have put poor Ed through that 😂😂
“DAVID LOOK AT WHAT YOU’RE HOLDING!!” Ed and David’s interactions are gold 😂
I've got to give Rose credit for her US country accent in the Buckaroo game. Pretty good, honestly better than a lot of Brits I've heard attempt it.
Probably because NZ doesn't make as much TV, and film as Britain makes British T.V. and film. So, N.Z T.V.. is more U.S. imported shows. It is cheaper to buy American, than to make a quality T.V. show that can compete with U.S. production. Particularly children's television. The same in Australia. When you grow up learning early literacy from Sesame Street, and American cartoons, and films, etc.,certain American accents can become second nature.
If Ed just said he secretly chose a trigger item that would end the game, there wouldn't have been any discourse of the game's system. Luckily for us though... he didn't.
It's got velcro on it, Which is Ideal, for my Purposes
Alex gently consoling Greg about not having Buckaroo as a child = so precious
If they’d had Alex be the body in Operation, they’d have won ‘cos Greg always likes it when Alex is made to be uncomfortable.
This is the first thing I’m watching after my dad died suddenly last night. It’s the only thing I can stomach. Thanks taskmaster.
My deepest condolences 😔
I’m so sorry to hear that, hope you are doing okay. ❤
Ed still thinks it’s a real egg to this day.
Ohhh, I remember this task. This is the one where Greg's ability to judge, based on the criteria set by the task, was bizarrely absent!
This and the video game task were so much fun to watch!
3.45 greg getting annoyed cos his mom didnt buy him buckaroo lmaooo everything about that moment made me howl😂😂
Aww, Jo had an unfair advantage over Alex. She used to be a registered nurse.
*Psychiatric nurse. Although that may actually be even more of an advantage when your teammate is David Baddiel.
Operation Seelöwe (sealion) as mentioned by David was a game of strategy and luck. It also went on forever, as I remember it.
Another case of Baddiel and Brand being one of the best teams in Taskmaster history
can't stand jo brand.
9:39 Jo momentarily embodied Endora. (Bewitched).
Love this task
This one’s a classic
david being able to remember the name operation zaylub but not the name of operation kills me
Classic!
Ed Gamble is awesome
David Bediel is one of my favorite people.
We need an Ed Gamble and James Acaster taskmaster crossover. I beg you.
Now I want to see a real life "Snakes and ladders"
Put a wall up and 5 differently sized objects on each side. A Few tennis balls and you'd have Battleship
I’m pretty sure they did a live action version on one of the TM series before.
@@BlueGriffin20 New Zealand Series 3.
I like how Greg commenting Jo's attempt at throwing the noodle irritated her enough she just throws it without any thought - just to end it -- _You join us here... The atmosphere electric..._ Jo does a double-take at him and just goes for it
Why would they refer to The Knappett as the runway? 😜
Holy fucking shit
Ed Gamble really was the best overall
Back when it was incredibly unusual for Greg to give both teams the win, now it's a seasonal occurrence 😂 Great task though, from Ed's meltdown over Greg's pedantry, Rose and Katy doing Western accents and David somehow remembering Operation Seelowe but not Operation.
🎉
I couldn't really understand David it seems (I heard "sail-over" - and the Subs say "Z-over"... OH, maybe it's "Seelöwe"!) -- only could find "Operation Rösslsprung" where you play Nazi paratroopers to capture Tito in 1944 o.O yay.. "Seelöwe" (aka Sea lion indeed) ;)
Operation Sea Lion was the name of the actual German plan so the game would likely be given the same name. Board game was around in the mid 70s, Baddiel is about ten years older than me so the time frame would work. I could understand the game being produced in the 50s to 60s as such but 70s is odd. My generation had our grandparents In the war and our parents born shortly after but still with Rationing. I feel old 😕
you should show unaired tasks , i feel like those would do alot better . I am such a fan i have watched every episode at least 3 times i would love tasks that never made it .
You're so lucky. I only get to see what's put on YT and have only managed to watch two full series 😥
There’s loads of series uploaded on the website DailyMotion. Not sure if it’s locked to certain countries.
@@sheilaboston7051 search task master full season you will get to watch all the seasons they are all on KZhead
Do they have many unaired tasks? I just imagine they would only do tasks they use because of budgets and time constraints 🤔 Oooh now I wanna know and I wanna see them if they exist 😍👍
@@clairycontrary1658 yes they do , people complain all the time about tasks they did amazing in that never get showed .
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Were either of these board games?
You mean Buckeroo and Operation? Oh yes! We couldn't afford either but picked up a different version being Dentist at a jumble sale which was faulty as hell and would screech weirdly randomly 😂😂
@@weatherwitchandfelinefamiliars I've heard/played both of these, and I know some board games come with props, but I don't remember either of these coming with boards. Could just be mis-remembering I guess
@@kdpflush "Board game" is a broad term that doesn't require there to be an actual board.
Would the board game Hop, Skip and Hump be considered a classic?
🤣🤣🤣
What IS this? Taskmaster for the personality-challenged!
No candy land? That could have been fun.
Are Greg and Alex friends in real life?
Day 1 of asking Viggo Venn to appear on this show.
But are Buckaroo or Operation really board games?
Well, "board game" can be synonymous with "table top game" (which these certainly are), but I'd say Operation would count regardless. The man is just a board with holes cut out for the pieces to go into.
Yes. A board game is a very large umbrella term that encompasses many party/group games. Any game that moves "pieces" on a "board" will count. However, the board is not limited to things similar to the recycled paper board for playing Monopoly. One way to categorise board games is to state how the game is played. Both of these games fall into "Dexterity" board games which, involves physical skill, whether using the whole body (e.g. Twister) or just the fingers for moving things about (e.g. Jenga). This can include balancing things. In Operation the dexterity is about using tweezers to remove pieces from the cutouts in the man without triggering the alarm. So the pieces would be the butterfly and bones etc., and the board is the man. In Buckaroo you are balancing things on the donkey. The items being balanced are the pieces, the donkey is the board. Also, to clarify, in Twister, the mat would be the board and the players would count as the pieces. In Jenga, I think the wooden blocks count as both the pieces and the board.

Is this a Deleted Task 😅
Nope. It made it in.
Every time I watch this I’m so annoyed by Greg’s stupid spring comment.
Sounds like you're on your top sensitivity level mate
@@laggy3099Obvs. And Ed was right to be too.
Seriously. He might as well have said the same about Operation, since David being the one to hit the buzzer wasn't accurate to the game.
As a boardgamegeek, this task annoyed me. Those are not board games. Zero points! I was hoping for Catan, maybe Risk or at least Monopoly.
These are both better board games than Monopoly, Catan and Risk (but there are still hundreds and hundreds of better board games than all of these).
Conversely, I thank god they didn't get pedantic about the difference between board games and tabletop games and just had fun. A real life Catan sketch would have been incredibly shit 💀
"Here comes the wine rack!"
