  • My mom watched every show he recorded. Mind you this was 1978 (I think). Then she stayed in Danville, IL and took lessons from him personally. Then she rented a store and opened a shop, teaching classes on how to paint. Whoever started those wine and canvas classes trumped us all 😂. Linda Bennett, my mom, participated as a vendor at good shows. Most of the time she was right across from Thomas Kincade. Thanks William (RIP), you helped my mom (RIP) have a 45 year career.

  • We religiously watched Bill Alexander on PBS. Even went to a class and painted a scene in the Alexander style. Have the two paintings hanging in our living room along with the book showing the original we were copying. It's from The Magic of Oil Painting by W. Alexander, A Walter T. Foster Publication, book #162, pages 6 & 7, ISBN (1990). Also got to see him lecture at a suburban shopping mall. He spoke for about three hours and never finished the painting! (It was on a canvas about 3 times the size usually used in the TV show.) Was a great experience. He had great charisma and was never boring! Glad to find this video on KZhead.
