That's one of the aims for Hayao Miyazaki in movie creating! In one of his documentary, he expressed that one of the consistent points he factors in is romanticising simple daily living and showing how taking something so mundane can also be peaceful and serene in doing so ❤ That's one of the major impacts he had on me as a child and influenced my start on pursing a culinary career (12 years and going!) This scene gives such wholesome and cozy energy. I remember being young and my mom making ramen on the gas stovetop when the power went out. She made the ramen in such a way to where the water thickened into a sauce rather than a broth. It felt good eating that ramen while wrapped in a blanket, with only a flashlight and some candles lighting the room.
