We had a blast hiking Helvellyn, my 2nd time up there and was fun to try a different route and take Swirral Edge first but I think I prefer the other way around. We parked in the main big carpark in Glenridding.

Great looking couple, brilliant vid, keep up the great work👍
Thank you 😊
I know you love your adventures on your own and I love watching them but this time round it’s lovely to see you with someone who loves doing these hikes and enjoying them as much as you do! Very sweet video & I can’t wait for the next one ❤
Aww thanks so much Suzy that’s lovely to hear 😊
More like this, great to see you filming together!
Thanks Clare!
Hello Grace. Excellent video again. Thank you for sharing. All the best to you both 👍
Thanks Gary!
Really enjoyed this one. Love the clear route description and the nice balance between narration scenes and music alone scenes allowing the viewer to fully immerse in the views. Looking forward to your next one ⛰️
Thanks so much Nicola 😊
Really enjoyed Grace you had a cracking day for Helvellyn missed the crowds and striding edge this way round is tricky 🙌🙌🏔 Good job 👍 Best wishes Simon Thanks 🙏🏼 🏔
Thanks Simon!
Hey that's Claires son! Cool. Great vid as usual

Awesome guys, love this place and love this video!
Thank you!
Ah, still got that fellow hanging about! Haha, looks like a rugged enough guy for your companion, a fortunate man to win your heart!
😂😂 yep he’s sticking!
Fantastic shots folks, this is filmed and narrated beautifully! Love it! 🔥🔥🎥
Thanks for watching! 😃
well done great vid
Cutesy! I hadn't realised that I'd missed this.. just watched Louie's first vid and then I spotted this! ⛰ Loved it xox
Great Video and a great route. We'll worth it 👍
Thanks Jay!
Amazing video Grace - really enjoyed watching this route ❤Hoping to do Helvellyn in the new year so definitely going to take your advice and start early, looks crazy busy at the summit for the time of year!
Thanks for watching! Enjoy your hike in the new year 😊
You’d be better getting some proper advice @She Freely Roams from someone experienced, Grace’s videography is ok, but she’s not qualified to be giving any advice whatsoever when it comes to this subject
Great hike guys 🥾 I had a white out ☁️ last time I was on this route you inspire me to return 😃.
Thanks Andy! I did too on my first time up here so it was great to re do it and have views 😊
Good video grace was great meeting you guys at the mountain festival
Thanks Jack! Was great to meet you 😊
Looks like you got a great day for it, would love to get back to the Lake District and hit a few hills. Only climbed Cat Bells so far which was spectacular.
We did! I love Catbells but yes get up there and explore more 🙌🏻
Gigantesque
We travelled about 130 miles to do Helvellyn and all we saw was fog and more fog. Never the less it was a lovely weekend.. We'll try again in 2023
Ah that’s a shame - it was the same on my first hike of it and it’s a 5hr drive for me too. Good luck for 2023!
Thanks!
Thank you so much Thomas 🙏🏻💛
Well done Grace & Louie ⛰️..I live in the Lake District & have been up since 3am preparing to get out onto the mountains for daybreak but the forecast is for extensive low laying blanket fog so that's today's adventure abandoned, safety is paramount if not just for myself but for that of others if anything untoward was to happen & I needed rescued..never seen Helvellyn so quiet as on your video 🤗..look forward to your next adventure 🏔️
Sometimes it’s not meant to be! We were really lucky with the conditions on the day we did it and set off at 6am to avoid crowds 😊 hope you get up there soon!
Great thumbnail 👌
Cheers Beth 😊
Love the video guys! Which of the two scrambles (swirral edge and striding edge) would you say is the easiest to get DOWN?
They both have tricky parts so doesn’t make too much difference but and even if you start on striding edge you have a down scramble at the end to then ascend up to the summit! So both the same really in my opinion 😊
@@GracesAdventures Thank you, Grace, for some great tips. I think I'll be fine over the actual edge, I'm ok with the bad step (or chimney, is this the same thing?!) and the scramble up to the summit. It's getting back down that scramble that is playing on my mind for some bizarre reason! But it'll be fun - I'll keep watching great content like yours and it'll work out OK!
I didn't realise there were so few trees up these hills.
Not many trees on UK mountains! Was lovely seeing tree covered canopies in the smoky mountains.
Can you get to the summit without going up one of the tricky edges? Is there a safer way for nervous nellies x
Plenty. You can follow the ridge from the north or south, or any of the western approaches are ultra-safe but be warned, they're ultra-dull too.
Yes there are a number of routes up where you can avoid the ridges, check out All Trails or OutdoorActive 😊
I’m sure this guy is on channel 4 Alone.

Good on you Grace, another good video. You chose a nice clear day. Striding edge is spectacular from that direction. Grace I think you'd do well with a mini drone, to capture your photography (?) because you have a real talent for editing. Just a thought. Stay safe in the hills.
Thanks Peter! I do have a drone which I use in some videos but it was too windy on this day sadly!
