I would say that in terms of raw earth bending Bumi was stronger, but overall Toph is better as she could see through earth bending and created metal bending. However Bumi could earth bend without direct contact with the earth, no one else has ever been shown to do that.
i love how tophs blindess is portrayed and treated in the show. The whole "helpless blind person" is a real thing that happens irl to people with disabilities and the fact she was able to break away from that and do her own thing is awesome!

Honestly when I watch Legend of Korra, I saw how Toph treated Opal. They really bonded together meanwhile with other characters Toph treated them differently...... Like in the episode "Operation:Beifong" you can see how sweet Toph treated Opal. Meanwhile with Bolin she treated him differently.
