  • I'm from Europe and I was taught to a) stand shoulder wide and b) that both my feet have to face forwards. I never felt comfortable this way and I always found myself "correcting" my stance every now and then since it was kinda unnatural for me. Now I see this... Thanks Coach! I wish I had the possibility to train with you. I recently discovered this channel and it's like all your stuff is gold. Even things I thought I knew might have been correct in one or another way... but the details man... the details... Keep it coming my man! Guys, don't share his videos. We need to keep this for us! • Great video coach. I’ve always boxed from a wide stance but recently been told to try box little bit more narrow. They said it’s easier to throw combinations. But it just doesn’t feel natural to me. I personally think it was me possibly taking too big of steps when moving so my balance was a bit off. I’m working on taking smaller steps but from a wide stance. Been boxing for a few years now but I’m trying to come back to the fundamentals.

For upper body movement, balance and power obviously your wider stance is better however for moving away cutting somebody off or footwork let's just say that shoulder width stance with the feet I believe is more beneficial. • most good boxers show different looks at different times. guys with a default wider stance, who can throw more then one good punch while backing up or off an angle change, usually don't hold the wide stance through those actions. It can also be of benefit to suck the back heel in a bit when you're dropping your weight and pulling across your body.... like throwing a quick level changes with punches, but not covering a lot of space initially.
