  • Did you see the advert? Car adverts are always a complete joke, they tell you nothing about the car. They need to tell you something about the car, something quirky, something exciting. Take risks and actually tell us why we should want a Tesla.

    • The vehicles have no interior or anything exciting so nothing to talk about other than a charging network. Our dual motor EV6 kills a Tesla in every way. Interior like a range rover and can power our house for three days and 240 charge another EV also. The recalled Cybertruck can do it maybe we will see. Elon needs some Tesla time and not SpaceX and podcasts so much

  • Car advertisements and really advertising in general is just "No Value Added" costs that inflate the prices of all sorts of products not just automobiles. It's offensive to sit back and contemplate how much of the price tag of just about every product we buy is to cover the advertising costs of every supplier that contributed toward getting the product on a store shelf/web page. When I buy a can of peas its not based on who has the best and most flashy advertising but who supplies to best peas at the lowest cost. There is a supermarket chain here that has the best advertising with some being more of a soap opera with tear jerker moments of family, good deeds, etc, etc produced like a Hollywood Blockbuster Movie however their prices are often double the competition for the same quality and quantity of peas, etc, etc. While I enjoy the entertainment value of the advertising I resolve myself to not be taken in and pay the extra cost at their stores since I don't eat advertising but eggs, butter, cheese, oatmeal, produce, chicken, fish bread, pasta, etc, etc along with the peas. Same with vehicles, since I don't drive advertising and don't want to pay an extra cost premium for glitzy manipulative advertising pushed out by a bunch of psychology majors then I really don't base my purchases on those wasteful over the top advertisements. More often I may end up totally ignoring a brand because of them because I want to pay for substance not fluff. Best!

    • No, sales have collapsed across the gasoline and Diesel and electric vehicle markets. The fact is food is up by over 25% in the last 4 years and entertainment is up 50% over the last 4 years. And now interest rates are crazy high. People cannot afford Dubai expensive things right now because all of their available cash has been sucked up by Monopoly and cartel behavior. I think the egg industry was fined over a hundred million dollars in 2023 and ordered to lower their prices. Fast food Corporations saw an increase in net profits of 37% while pleading High labor cost. The fact was labor cost was being used as an excuse to increase prices much more than was justified by the labor cost increase. However, we need to have the model 2 at a low mid-20s price range before Ordinary People can afford to buy an electric vehicle. And we really should have access to electric vehicles costing under $20,000 but they have been banned due to the political influence of automobile companies. There is a great example video of the fact that you can legally drive a 1945 army jeep in Colorado while an inexpensive electric vehicle with many safety measures lacking in the Jeep is banned.

Lowest price 2020 model 3 I can find is £17000 but it has 75k on the clock (wouldn't bother me) Last year at this time a 2020 model 3 was going for an average of 21-23k. If you don't need long range and you want an exceptionally reliable EV with great charging network a second hand tesla model 3 is hard to beat. Guaranteed these prices will go up again , but for now this is the best second hand prices since I started keeping an eye on second hand Teslas since 2020.

(2) the shift to screens to keep cars feeling new and exciting without wasteful scrapping and manufacturing (3) the fact that all of the profits are being spent on creating a planet B. They should keep the referral method going though, as this caused people to say they love the product no matter what, propping up their image. Tesla does need to keep innovating though. They keep cutting (streamlining), whilst the competition is offering more and more. I do like their minimalist interior, but I also want buttons so I don't need to dig around in a menu. Tesla's vehicles are known for their cutting-edge technology and innovative features. The instant torque and acceleration of Tesla's electric motors provide an exhilarating driving experience. Tesla's Autopilot and self-driving capabilities offer increased safety and convenience. Lower maintenance costs due to fewer moving parts and no need for oil changes or tune-ups. Access to Tesla's vast Supercharger network for convenient long-distance travel. Over-the-air software updates keep your Tesla's technology and features up-to-date. Potential for long-term cost savings on fuel compared to gasoline-powered vehicles. Tax incentives and rebates are available in some regions for purchasing electric vehicles. Resale values for Teslas tend to be higher than comparable gasoline vehicles.

Tesla's vehicles have impressive range capabilities for electric vehicles. The large touchscreen displays and minimalist interiors give Teslas a modern and futuristic feel. Access to Tesla's growing network of stores and service centers. Potential for future autonomous ride-sharing or taxi service with Tesla's self-driving technology. Over-the-air performance upgrades can improve your Tesla's acceleration and capabilities. The quiet and smooth ride quality of electric vehicles enhances the driving experience. You'll be part of the growing community of Tesla owners and enthusiasts. Teslas are American-made vehicles, supporting domestic manufacturing and innovation.

  • Marketing in general is not very useful for Tesla. The product speaks for itself. But great marketing might help to educate people about the product.

  • Safe and Elon Musk seldom go hand in hand unless it refers to the cars ability to withstand an accident. Radical adverts the cyber truck beating the Porsche towing a Porsche was great marketing that got people talking.

  • So agree. Being clear on electrifying all the things as their reason to even exist sends a message through Tesla’s continuous actions. That kind of sincerity and determination operates as a clarion call to the rest of us. Why aren’t we moving from dirty fossil fuels? Here. Tesla are providing the means. Sales is annoyingly image conscious and really Tesla already has a successful brand with no need to position themselves like other car companies. They need to be able to change and grow their products which is not just cars anyway but a cornucopia of innovative electrifying innovations. Powerwall, FSD, charging, and I’m sure they want to do a lot more to speed us to clean air and decarbonize the grid. I mean who knew transportation is part of the energy grid?

  • Not sure I agree. Don’t think their marketing was insaine but I’m not sure I guy in Lederhosen dancing to some dance music is vanilla compared to the generic person drives car with audio dubbed to region car adverts of the day. I think the issue is one marketing should be treated like engineering (iterate) and two could it be possible that in the midst of massive recessions £40k for a car is actually not affordable? 🧐

  • I was in the market for an EV. I crossed Tesla off my list because of the constant price drops. The thought of buying a car and having its value as a used car drop overnight by a significant percentage just so that Tesla can stimulate their sales was not something I could abide. Depreciation is a given with a new car, but not in sudden big jumps to benefit the manufacturer.

    • SAFETY should be YOUR #1 concern, which TESLA has in SPADES. #2 is Vehicle EFFICIENCY , which TESLA is also a LEADER. #3 is PERFORMANCE across all models & variants , which TESLA already has. #4 TESLA offers the BEST vehicles with very HIGH ranges. price drops should be LOWER priority.

  • They should just copy Land Rover's commercials and just tweak it a little bit. I recall seeing one impressive one where even though it's CGI wireframe and the commercial was about design and manufacturing, it was quite impressive making me think that their design was awesome, but I can't find that video anymore. Either it's Land Rover or Kia.
