She appeared to show him respect for that, given that she, too, took out her knife, even though she knew perfectly well that was completely unnecessary, as he posed literally zero danger to her. She was willing to give him a "warrior's death" on "equal terms" of sorts, rather than just ignominiously kill him. Morality she might not have, but some kind of respect for a fighting spirit definitely.

People who complain about "too much destruction" in this movie don't realize that these are a bunch Kryptonians fighting with one another under a yellow sun. For them, it's like fighting in a world made of cardboards. Any realistic portrayal would show the inevitable destruction.
People complaining about the destruction don't realise that there's a reason Darkseid avoids Kryptonians if all of the Kryptonians chose to co-exist here then they would've wiped the floor with Steppenwolf.

Now with their superpowers, holy cow, you can see why this is truly a formidable and remarkable species. No wonder even one of the, if not literally the most dangerously powerful and evil being or big bad in the DC universe avoids them.

Antje Traue is so beautiful. She shines in this fight as Faora-Ul. The quick motions and speed they gave her was just amazing, especially the way she wipes out the soldiers. I want to see her beautiful face in more movies.

The fight scene actually gave justice to “grounding” flight well as they gave justice in showing the gravitas for a seemingly low-gravity scene. Every attempts of Superman to fly was constantly hampered by the kryptonian soldiers by making him grounded to have a more devastating impact than just flying and punching. Fight while flying trope is easily undermined as there is no sense of direction and impact with only punches if you are above but they did a fantastic job to really make it feel as if they are hurt in this scene by limiting one’s capability of flying itself.
Man Of Steel had the best one-on-one fight out of any superhero movie I've ever seen. The closest we have to an actual live action DB/DBZ/DBS movie

I still remember the crowd's cheering response, when Superman hits zod for hitting his Mom, in the theatre, where I was watching.
4:07 and 7:30. Now this is a terrifyingly realistic depiction of an invincible opponent in our world. They have no fear and will not hesitate. They have no reason to be otherwise. The only flaw is the bodies not becoming dismembered. Absolutely nothing you can do to stop them from going after you and squishing your soft and mushy body.
Unfortunately Faora turning those soldiers into off-red stains would have bumped up the rating.
Shoot and 9:20 she took that impact like an absolute G.

This movie is near perfect. The music, tone, casting and cinematography and action are unmatched by the sequels imo.

yea people were really, really critical of these movies. I thought they were much more interesting than like, Black Panther or Captain Marvel. Honestly, notice how there's no comedies anymore? I think the MCU kind of took the place of comedies, it's why the point of every scene in them is the joke or tension 1-liner. The criticisms they leveled at the Snyder-verse just seemed like nonsense, stuff like, "Superman isn't hopeful enough" is the one I saw the most and it's... just what? What does that even mean?
It’s crazy not only seeing three kryptonians can do this amount of destruction but also, Kal El (Clark) having no battle experience was able to put an incredible fight against two well trained kryptonians specifically made to be warriors and come out as the victor!
because Kal had been absorbing Earth’s Sun radition, for almost 33 years, if Zod’s team could adaptive to live on Earth about one month, i think they will break Kal easily, especialy Zod, even he’s more older than Kal. He was designed to be Strongest warrior of Krypton and have became a General when he was still young.

Man, this make me really miss going to the theatres. I remember going into this movie with ZERO expectations of it being great. This was the scene that blew me away. This is how a Superman fight scene should look like in real life. Powerful, explosive, and visceral destruction. It's a shame they canned Snyder's vision for the DCU.
I absolutely loved the big guy "Nam-ek", how he catches superman mid flight like "YOU'RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE!" and when superman punches him into a whole bunch of trains, Nam-ek throws a cart thats on fire right back at him.
