2 days after we had secured promotion. I felt compelled to thank him in person and jumped on bus to Wetherby by myself one afternoon in the blind hope that I might just see him and be able (via google translate) to convey just how grateful both myself and every Leeds fan was to him were for restoring hope and belief within the club and the city. Fate allowed this to happen that day (it's a beautiful story). I spoke with him one to one on his doorstep and not only did he understand, he wanted to know about me, have a real conversation and give me hug afterwards. A truly incredible human being. I feel blessed to have not only met him, but to have experienced and shared his tenure at the club with everyone. This is a brilliant tribute and cathartic for all the fans. He will see this I know and it will move him greatly. Thank you Marcelo
Thanks Scott for sharing this story , you did what i think many of us would have loved to do which is thank the great man for saving this club . No matter what happens from this day forward we will NEVER be in oblivion again, he saved the club and we will grow and grow i really believe that and that's all thanks the Marcelo Bielsa . I think it was time the make a change though as things were on a downward spiral and not even he knew how to get us out of it .Onwards and upwards now and im sure Jesse Marsch will do us proud i already like what im seeing .I will always be grateful to Bielsa he was special and he made this club special once again ALAW ....... Turning up at the centenary dinner in his tracksuit was absolutely amazing. He worked every spare hour he had on making Leeds a force once again but unfortunately lady luck pissed on him regarding injuries but he still blooded 9 kids for their PL debuts in the one season. Thanks for the memories Marcelo

The one crumb of comfort I take from this is knowing he’s probably watched it. It warms my heart knowing he’ll be just as touched by all these tributes as we were by his four years at the club and the legacy he’s left. Marcelo's legacy is beautiful but also fragile, because it is down to all of us to carry it forward. Owners, Managers, Players and Fans; how we behave in the coming years will inform history of whether or not Marcelo's was a truly lasting legacy or a beautiful, but ultimately short-lived butterfly that we broke on the wheel of 'ambition'.

A beautiful tribute to a wonderful man. He's made me fall back in love with my club. I never went away totally, of course, but during all those years in League One and in Championship mid-table mediocrity I confess it was hard to love the football we were playing and to be excited for the next game. When Marcelo came it changed immediately. I remember watching us play Stoke in that first game and my jaw never came up off the floor. And that continued for three and a half years. On top of that we had Spygate and the press conference and the goal we gave to Villa, together with exciting game after exciting game and goals that outshone Barcelona. That's just on the pitch. Off the pitch, there was the humanity he showed to each and every fan. He didn't just bring us amazing football - he brought qualities back to Leeds that belong in that part of Yorkshire. Honesty, integrity, fairness and decency. He belonged with us, and now he's gone. Thank you, Marcelo, for everything.

I'm not from LEEDS, but I watched the games as if they were from my club. I think my club is Bielsa. I think Bielsa is my father, my grandfather, what I want to be as a father. I listened to the pre-match conferences, the post-match conferences. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY DID, HOW COULD THEY FIRE HIM. Nice video, it made me cry, but they were still very unfair.
