This is an international "zulu" flight (starting VFR and picking up IFR) from Milan Linate Airport (LIML) in northern Italy to Stuttgart in southern Germany. Initially the flight is VFR at 2000ft just underneath class A airpsace in Italy until Lugano in Swizerland. From here we're crossing the Alps via the Gotthard Pass and pick up IFR in the Zurich area. We're flying in a Cessna 172 equiped with G1000.
Finally someone who does fly over europe instead of america.
Something wrong about it?
@@elmerlopez.9952 yeah gets old just seeing videos from US.

Always exciting to fly over the Swiss alps. Spectacular and in someway intimidating. Thanks for sharing.
Isn't it unbelievable how much more helpful Swiss ATC is in comparison with their Italian colleagues? Just don't get why the airspace over Northern Italy is so damn restrictive. I live in Berlin where we have an estimated 10 million passengers per year more than in Milan and still it is absolutely NO problem to cross the CTR even in a Trike with no transponder. Why this fuzz?
Nice video. Grusse aus EDHE!!
very instructive! Thank you.
Very Nice, it's a great experience flying over the Alps.
Great video guys!! Really enjoyed it! That view of the Alps is just stunning!
This was really interesting!
sehr eindrücklich,Hammer!
Fantastic ... Thanks !!!
Enjoyed the video. Very different experience from my flying at KSAV!
Thank you!
Fantastic video!
Sehr gut!
Nice.
Toll erklärt, vielen Dank!
Nice Video from the Gotthard-crossing! Flying VFR through the Alps can be very challenging sometimes, but this seems to be a quite relaxed flight. Swiss ATC does a great job, we always like to use FIS in Switzerland, both Zurich and Geneva. We've heard some stories about some VFR "exceptions" towards the Alps in class A at Milano. Did you try to request a clearance?
Excellent video, very instructive. Could you please give me the name of the music you use between ATC com? Vielen Dank
Having only watched US flight videos before, I noticed that you were given squawk codes even during the VFR portion of your flight. I assume this is the Euro equivalent of "flight following" in the US. Do you request this, as in the US, or do they just assign it to you regardless? Does this apply to ALL general aviation in EU?
How do you recorded the ATC?
only problem i dont like the ultra wide lenses most people with these planes seem to use lol
Hey MV, great video i really enjoyed it, what ipad do you use in the cockpit and air or mini? and what aviation app you mainly use for flying in Europe?
Thanks. I'm using an Air. I love to have a big high resolution display that shows all chart details without having to zoom in. For VFR I'm using Airnav pro + charts from Jepp. But I'm considering switching to Garmin Pilot.
Do you have any experience with Skydemon? if so, what are your thoughts about it.
Nope, sorry.
Good Video, I want to cross the Alps this year and it seems that your route is doable VFR. BTW what video editing software are you using?
+pplir2000 I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro
Sure you can cross the Alps VFR. I have done it many times. kzhead.info/sun/fNWamMaCZIR8oYk/bejne.html If you need some advice or routes, just let me know.
Great! Why Zulú flight plan? Why not all in VFR? Thanks for sharing
Just for practice
@@MikeVictorAviation Okkk, thanks again. Good flights
really really amazing !!! didn’t you need oxygen masks on over the Alps or at FL090 ??
+Salaheddin Charbati negative, Sir. We were never higher than 9000ft. Ox is required at some point above 12500ft.
oh great to know ... vielen Dank :D
Sehr informativ!
Klasse, vielen Dank!
Hi, what year is your. cessna and what is the time from'Linate to zurich roughly please .Thanks for replay.
Hi, I think the Cessna is from 2006, but I'm not sure. It's a rental. Time from LIML to LSZH is just shy of one hour (depends on the routing you get).
1:40h, sowas...
I didn't understand your takeoff
I WOULD LIKE WITH YOU BUT I DON'T SPEAK WELL ENGLISH
Waste of time , I was expecting to watch the landing as well !
