Before we got together, we used to send each other songs all the time. He sent me this beautiful song, and he told me how he pays attention to the lyrics of each songs, and how lyrics are what make the songs beautiful. I knew he was flirting with me, when he sent me this. And now, every time I listen to this, I’m taken back to that early infatuation stage, when we both knew we liked each other, never told each other for a while. It’s been a great ride, the past 4 years. We’ve been through some hard times, and have made the best memories with each other. This would always be Our Song.

    • I don't really feel that "happy vibes" that you describe, and that everybody seems to see in their songs and videos. Personally, even if I like some of their music, I feel like there is something quite dark and unclear in their personalities, and in the atmosphere of their creations. I feel melancholy and even sadness in their voices. And if you look at their different videos, light often looks quite gloomy, and there's a kind of "sexy vibe" in their attitudes and looks, but not a shiny one, more of a dark one. I don't feel any love and happiness when I listen to them.

    • @@daisyg8384 Well, their personalities are being perceived through the make up of a video and an artistic output. It is all carefully made up. Also, the singers, being public personalities, are "acting" during their interviews and video clips. Therefore, all of what we perceived is flawed and far from being real. It is just a created image, like a painting. The painting of a pipe shows that it isn't a pipe, actually, but a picture of it. But the creation (this song), a package of created emotions, is what makes our sensitive soul strings vibrate. Plus, not feeling love or happiness is something else, I sense. At least, love and happiness are what is shown in the video. Not feeling it is about what the music itself conveys in the song. And I think the feeling embodied into it is nostalgia which is, by essence, not a clear or a limpid emotion. It's a tension, an oscillation between happiness and sadness, love and heartbreak, feel good and feel bad, the presence past in the present. It is not either one or the other, it is both at the same time. Example in the lyrics : "Don't go wasting your time" is served musically by a musical atmosphere that translates the wasted time because of that creative nostalgic treatment. The whole treatment of the song expresses that it is already past and done on the edge of being forgotten. Personally, I feel love but a love I had or have lived in the past and this makes me a bit sad, but it was and it is love, still. Or happiness that didn't endure. This song is, for me, magical. "We had lifted from the ground".

  • I used to dream about all these things, but now I don't. Like, I would believe as a pre-teen that my life will one day be as good, fun, memorable and interesting as this song sounds. My future life was to me going to be something a bit like those feel good american movies. But it's not, it is slow, there're no cuts, no background music or crazy stories and moving moments. There's no love, I'm so lonely. I wish this song and all the vibes that music gives us could be real, I wish it could be something part of our everyday lives because to be honest, I'm tired of dreaming. I'm done having all these expectations and hopes, all these movies and songs that make us wish our existance was slightly better. It's like medias are constantly selling us dreams and we buy them 'cause we're just so desperate.

I don't blame these TV shows, songs, movies or whatever because I love them and they make me dream and escape. Maybe I'm just another 15-year-old craving for a kiss and a road trip. I just hope I'm not the only one understanding what I'm trying to express right now. When I see this music video I can't help but feel like all of this is just a big lie, I see this and I get angry because I used to believe all these adventures would probably happen to me in real life someday as a teenager. We all want that, we want that cinematic way of living with lots of freedom, music, fun, friends, and passion, and it kills me every day to see we're not living it, because then I feel like I'm not experiencing my adolescence the right way, or that I'm wasting the ''best years of my life''..

It cuts out the mundane parts and leaves all of those moments that are full of passion and joy. It isn’t a lie, it is a perspective. Don’t forget also that you are capable of doing nearly anything.     • Garance Azb I do get what you mean though. When I was younger I felt that I wasn’t really doing the whole teenage thing right because it didn’t match tv.     • I am in sort of a messed up situation because my parents are from the phillipines but i was born in germany but moved to the phillipines when i was two years old and then moved to germany again when i was five. Now im fifteen and i can speak german but no tagalog. I also am fluent in englisc since my father moved to the USA and worked for the US army. The reason we ended up in Germany was because he got stationed here. My problem is that i want to become an actor but acting is very unpopular in germany therefore i really want to move to the US but that will become very Hard. Well... at least i got my Story out.
