Video title: Why Was Spider-Man Like THIS In Marvel's Spider-Man 2?
Since the release of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, people have been asking many questions in regards to Peter Parker of Insomniac's Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Was he nerfed? In one of the scenes where Peter is confronting Venom, he gets knocked out by a Fridge, he barely saves the people on the roller coaster and Sandman annihilates him, so in this video I will try to explain all of this to the best of my ability so we can figure out if these are plot holes or if Peter really was nerfed.

I wouldn’t have mind if Peter was weaker if he was in his 40s-50s like Peter B. Parker or Tobey. But Insomniac Peter is 25 in Spider-Man 2, he should still be in his prime even without the symbiote. The way he was written felt like he was a punching bag or something.
Peter wasn't nerfed at all as both Peter and Miles got equal amount of struggles. Peter beated more baddies then Miles ever did. Peter didn't always need Miles' or MJ's help as he did mostly on his own then teaming. He beated Kraven, Lizard, Venom, Scream and Wraith. Miles only beated Mysterio and Mr Negative.

The reason peter is nerfed is due to his poor physical stats/showings. A example would be how in the sandman fight he can’t dodge lighting twice something he is able to do in the first game with ease or when Peter and harry are going after tombstone and peter gets stuck under a small brick wall something that he should be able to lift due to how in the first game he was able to lift the massive rubble in Fisk tower. There are so many more examples of peter just being weaker.
I think him being physically weaker was a nice way to show how much weaker he is mentally too.
It’s because he was still recovering from Mays death so he was weaker, so he needed the symbiote to be strong again

That's what I thought, kind of like how tobey in spiderman 2 loses his powers, Peter (yuri) isn't in the right headspace because he's still battling with mays death and the other events that occured in the first game, hence y he becomes dependent on the symbiote and believes it is the solution to his problems

The fridge scene is that peter just came out from the symbiote and he was weakened and fatigued and had symptoms and he got stunned btw the scene where peter gets hit by venom before the hit from the fridge peter senses dont work against venom

They’re are literally voice lines where Peter clearly says he so tired and fatigued after he takes off the symbiote. He literally says that when doctor Connor’s called him when your on ur way to MJ when Harry got to her.
One thing I think they forgot to mention 4:01 is that Peter’s spider sense won’t work when it’s with venom

I feel like no one understands Venom in this game. Everyone is saying “he’s evil he was trying to infect to world“. But that’s not (technically) true, he said he was trying to *heal* the world, in his eyes he was doing the right thing

Peter was struggling because he was grieving over Aunt May's death as he thinks it was his fault that's why he was depressed. Later he realized that is wasn't his fault thanks to Miles and Mr Negartive going in his head. Plus when you visit Aunt May's grave after the story, Peter will say his Parker luck is back. Also for the thumbnail, those are NG+ so you can use any suit.

Remember Peter couldn't beat Kaju Sandman without Miles as he was the key with his Venom punchs to obliterate him, pretty much like in the last game where Peter got destroyed by rhino and Miles had to step up and beat rhino, in this game Peter does need constant saving as well so if anything Peter has more regressed whiles Miles has just gotten better the Symbiote Peter boss fights shows it all to well and the ending where Peter again gets choked out by venom even while wearing the anti venom suit and has to tag out with Miles for him to step up.
@@gogetathestrongestfusion Peter and Miles did the Sandman fight together. But for the Venom fight, Peter did most of the heavy lifting. During the entire Venom fight including cutscenes in between and ending, Peter was the one who beated him. Miles helped but barely and Miles barely fought Venom. Although during both their encounters with Venom, both of them lost during the boss battle. Peter may have been knocked unconscious at the end of the boss fight but Miles also lost during his boss encounter. But the fight ends with Peter defeating Venom using the Anti Venom power to cure the city and Venom. So technically that counts as win and defeat from Peter.
Accept most of those guys he beat he uses the Symbiote. So your defence is useless

Sorry about this, but your explanation of the crane v. fridge doesn't work. First, the crane hit him at an insane speed, knocking him out, also causing brain trauma, which will always be more damaging than anything a fridge falling over especially with no external force affecting that fridge.

I don't think Peter used the spider arms because his back was literally against the grates, there wasn't enough room for the spider arms to manifest. Even if they could despite that, them being deployed could possibly break the grates and cause Pete to fall and the people who need saving to die. Bringing out the spider arms wouldn't have been safe.
The Symbiote Didn't Corrupted Harry because It and Harry and Peter were becoming closer than ever,but Harry was VERY angry about Pete being stabee by Kraven The Hunter.So the Symbiote left Harry's body and saved Peter.After that Peter with the Symbiote was feeling SO much stronger but Harry is again felling sick . Peter's goal once he obtained the Symbiote,it was his mission to gave it to Harry. By the end,Harry finally got the Symbiote back and then started his Symbiote Invasion
I think Peter said that the spider-arms work like doc ock's. And remember they effected his mind that's probably why Peter doesn't use them too long.
Ok but there’s absolutely no justification for the fridge scene. With the proportional strength and durability of a spider, that falling fridge should have had nowhere NEAR enough inertia to even move Peter an inch. It should’ve felt like a pebble bouncing off of him. Also, Peter’s spider sense should’ve been going off just from the sheer presence of Venom. This isn’t just lazy writing. It’s lazy animating as well. It’s almost like they realized at the last second this cutscene was being stretched out but still needed MJ to transform into scream so they just said “…fridge.” The argument of Peter hitting his head is invalid. For one if that was a plot point they would have clarified that he hit his head, his head is barely on screen. Secondly, the strength and durability of a spider go into play with this as well. Should’ve been nowhere NEAR enough force to knock Peter out.
His durability would have definitely overcome that, his powers were nerfed for whatever reason, no spider sense and MJ reacts before him, no way!!!
His spider-sense doesn’t work on venom but his super human reflexes should have been more then enough for him to react faster then MJ.

I also think it’s because he’s getting weaker, making it show more why miles is gonna take over I think that the reason the symbiote didn’t effect Harry at the start is because he got the symbiote in the lab, and in the tank so it probably didn’t have full control over him because Connor’s and Normal made it so it wouldn’t, but when it escaped to Peter then back to Harry, that’s why it could take over him (The amplified feeling explanation makes more sense)
Its a little but like Tobey’s Spider-man temporarily loosing his powers from ptsd. Insomniac Peter can still do Spider-man stuff but not at 100% because of all the emotional damage
Mabye pulling his punches more and being blinded by the thought of those civilians dying made him distracted by that so he didn't use the spider legs, also right after losing the symbiote you would feel a lot weaker
The fridge scene is overblown. He got hit in the back of the head. Peter literally took 2 lightning bolts in the Sandman fight and shook it off. Peter with the symbiote was inconsistent. One minute he's angry, another he's normal. Look at how he was before the Lizard chase and after.
Idk if you guys remember the dlcs from the first game or miles morales but insomniac really ain’t that good at story telling. The first game was rlly good but it seems that’s all yall remember. They made some continuity errors in the cutscenes but other than that the gameplay is better than everything prior so still a good game

the reason why peter didnt sense that venom attack is because spider sense didnt work againts venom, its like in the comics, so it make sense why peter spider sense turned off
Danika knew something after the lizard mission with miles and miles realized too. She said that she doesn’t really like it cuz it seems “too edgey” for the friendly neighborhood spider-man because it was all black
