One thing I love about Ivar, is that despite the fact that he lives in a world of Vikings where having strength is one of the most important thing, he doesn’t let that take him down. He uses his intelligence to make up for the fact that he’s a cripple. And because he uses his mind every single time like Ragnar advised him to, he wins, unlike Bjorn who let his emotions take the best of him and made wrong decisions one after another.
But he's against his father dream, his father's dream is to be peace and farming
Ragnar made a wrong decision taking Ivar there in my opinion although Ivar is very clever and smart he is a bit immature and when he chose it completely boosted his ego I mean he said he is a god of ragnar was alive then he would have slapped the f out of him

Bjorn said that Ivarr was fighting against their fathers dream, but when Ragnar died he was choosing his fate, fighting against the gods, saying humanity created the gods. Ivarr in the end was the one following his fathers final wish in that way.

This final confrontation between bjorn and Ivar was quite possibly the most emotional battle I have ever witnessed. It was not just a battle of armies but a battle of religion. The pagan gods vs Christianity. And most of all, it was a battle between brothers. Ivar vs Bjorn. This video really focused on all the themes that this episode showed and it made it such an amazing tribute to watch. Thank you for making such a masterpiece! Björn could kill 10 Ivar in reality. But the main point in this scene, björn who can defeat the bear, berserker and best warrior of Vikings, Rollo. Björn defeated to Ivar who was the criplle and the weakest brother. It seems everbody can be defeated by even İf the weakest one. Ivar stepped back him but Ivar was intelligent and cruel. Björn was the most badass warrior of Vikings but he was defeated by his mercy for his brothers. He would kill Ivar easily several times but he denied. He could kill Hvitserk after Lagertha’s murder, but he denied. Then Cripple Ivar killed him and Hvitserk and Ivar betrayed Vikings and defeat their father legacy with Russians. Physical Strong Björn is defeated to Physicological Strong Ivar .
Why so many hate on Ivar when he wanted revenge for his mother? He wanted that revenge bad. Now he's a different man. When Hvitserk told him he killed her Ivar gave a nod like he forgot all about it. He's changed. He's the true Heir and Ragnar knew what he was about. He knew he'd kill everyone no matter who. Ragnar's dream of farming died a while back. Ragnar wanted war and he unleashed Ivar the Boneless unto the world.

Its bullshit ragnar didn't know he would go up against his own brothers something ragnar really did shun upon that was after he killed sigurd at the moment they knew he need help since he out right killed his brother for literally nothing bjorn and ubbe were really trying there best to keep them all together since they are ragnar sons. Oof!! This is just all kinds of amazing! Love the parallels you draw between Ivar and Bjorn, especially the emotions and motivations surrounding the deaths of their mothers. As a hardcore supporter of Ivar, I have often argued that Bjorn was a hypocrite when it came to Ivar's strong motivation to avenge his mother, and then this season it was made so clear when Bjorn sought revenge for the exact same thing. I loved how you perfectly pointed out these parallels!! And of course the music and the editing is amazing as always. Thank you!

The war between Ivar and Bjorn is not just a battle of two brothers but of two entirely different ethos’s: Brain vs Brawn. Bjorn’s character is one based on strength and skill in battle which had allowed him to win several victories in the past seasons. He also possesses great courage and valor which drives the will to fight and the determination to win as well as possessing the traits of a great leader. As a result of this. Bjorn is proud and overconfident. He thought that he was invincible for a time due to his skill in battle and ended up leading to his eventual downfall. Ivar’s character is one based on intellect. The first battle he ever participated in was marked as the finest tactical brilliance ever achieved in the show of Vikings. Ivar is not as great a warrior as his brothers because of his inability to walk. So he uses his mind to win his battles by employing unorthodox but effective battle tactics against his enemy. This is why he was able to have such an advantage over Bjorn and his brothers because he employed his mind to win battles. He even went as far as to persuade foreign kings and soldiers (Kievan Rus) to attack Bjorn’s kingdom. But Ivar is also arrogant and hot tempered, which was his main weakness that allowed him to lose on several occasions.
