People tell me how bad the economy is, here, and all I can think is, "I'm a small business owner who is hiring, and I CAN'T FIND ANYONE!"

I find that the majority of people that actually want to work are non American born. Mostly people coming here from south of the border or other countries. Most the American born young generation, of all nationalities, want to be Social Media Influencers or live at home off of their parents. None of them want to do any physical labor what so ever. Most don't even know how to or want to use a broom.
They base the unemployment rate on those claiming unemployment. Once it runs out, you are no longer considered unemployed. So that means even more numbers are out of work than officially reported. But, they have found other ways. Young people are not taking regular jobs anymore. When you are a self employed contractor with DoorDash, Grubhub, Uber etc., you are not taking the small business owners' jobs. There are so many of those deliverers and cab services, I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes for food or ride, usually its pretty instant.

The most important things to me are my social security (my only income), my health care and my freedom of my body. Everything else will work itself out. Instead of raising interest rates to cool the economy, they should raise taxes on the rich , since it was massive tax cuts that created the hyper inflation to begin with.
Well, if we democrats can hold sway in all three branches of government longer than two years, like the voters have done for republicans multiple times, we could actually make the born rich pay their fair share of taxes, as we did prior to Reagan and the evangelical republicans starting their endless tax cuts on the rich. But the democrats and liberals are either just too lazy or uneducated to vote for their own well being and vote blue in all elections, not just the presidential ones. But also the midterm elections. We have to have power long enough to actually implement what needs to be done to benefit our country long term. But since Reagan, the evangelical republicans have constantly used social issues and our pathetic electoral college and the laziness of democrats, to get into power and then do things like gerrymander the state government so they can keep power forever. I have been pointing this our since Reagan. But it is impossible to point out facts and data and reality to people as they all just want to believe in extreme conspiracies rather than truth and reality. Even when it is blatant. Truth and reality are too boring for these people. And so, here we are.

It is a absolutely a misnomer that any maga cult member or those elected reps that are part of or support an inserectionist canidate to be "ashamed." You have to have certain charactoristics to be aware of what shame is or means. Integrity, respectability, tolerance for others in spite of differing goal opinions. Those 3 things do not exist within the mind or public perception in these individuals. I think you have to empliy the anology of "the pothole in the road". You can complain about it but if you try to run over it, it may just mess up your car or cause you to crash. You just need to be aware of them and drive around them or just pick a different route to get to your goal. This time of year is when those potholes are revealed and they really can't be fixed until the traffic dies down or you just block the road so no one can access that route.....

I was a Republican fro the mid 1970's till the govt shutdown in 2013, because I saw the Republicans as too prideful to change and see the error of their ways. I changed to the Democratic Party in October 2013 and I'm never, ever going back. A good compromise to this immigration debate is, shore up the fence along the Southern border then have people from other countries come in through the "Ports of Entry" that's all they have to do. Problem solved.

If everything is going fine, why bother about rate cuts --- at least with current interest rates, there is some incentive to save for a rainy day - like say, the next pandemic, bird flu outbreak, climate disaster recovery, etc. when the interest rate is 1% - no one can save anything.
