I think another enthusiast call-out is that the mouse uses METAL THREADED INSERTS SO THAT WHEN YOU OPEN IT UP YOU DONT RISK STRIPPING THE THREADS
Incredible review from such a small channel. Had an OP1WE but i just couldn't get used to those switches, even with the lighter switch pack. Now i bought an OP1 8K and i don't ever wanna miss that modability again. EGG are becoming the Wooting of mice.
aliexpress is selling hot swappable pcb for the op1we, i have one on the way
your reviews are aging like fine wine. Keep it up brother. This was amazing.
Jake, you're quickly becoming my go-to for mouse reviews, you're killing it. Thanks again for another fantastic review, got my OP1-8K arriving tomorrow and after your review? I couldn't be more excited. Thanks again brother.
I was so close to buying the OP1we. Glad I held off because despite its small size, I find myself putting a ton of hours into the OP1 8k. It's an amazing piece of kit.
mine is in the mail. I cant wait, should be here tmrw! W
Microsecond click latency is crazy. Great vid as always, looking forward to the sprime pm1 review.
It really is. Thank you! Yeah, that one should be up within the next two weeks o7
75 USD is genuinely one of the most REASONABLE prices ive ever seen. Big brands should seriously takes notes! I thought it was gonna be 150 USD! Peak engineering. Keep it up guys 💪💪💪
75 used to be unreasonable for a mouse. Now it's cheap uh.
@@costillero2189No thanks to the companies that sell their high quality gaming mouse for higher than 120 USD
Yeahhh man by far the best coating EVER, i have Logitech, G-Wolves, Razer, Pulsar, and Ninjutso mice but this is different, you get marks and prints on it (i have the all black version) but the mouse never feels oily or slippery, i have no idea what or how they treat their mice but it works.
Just got my op1 8k and absolutely love the shape. I was worried it would be too thin but its perfect. 20x10 hands
My thoughts exactly. 20.5 x 10.5
i have same size as you. What grip do you use, I assume claw grip is possible still?
@@silentKeys20 more of a fingertip grip
I got the OP1 8K two weeks after my Beast X and I regret buying the Beast X after using it. The position of the hump on the OP1 is perfect for my pincher claw grip. I still love the Beast X but I feel it'll end up in a drawer soon. I did notice some stuttering when using 8K in Kovaak's, but luckily nothing in any other games. I slapped on some Corepad Pro's (ordered the OP1we ones since feet are the same too), but beware: they do not take into account the screwholes. Anyway I felt that the stock skates were waaay to slow. With Corepads and an Artisan Hayate Otsu Soft I honestly ask myself the question where we go from here. This is literally my endgame setup (no pun). Also, chalky is the perfect way to describe the grip. Which is funny because the brand is EGG, it feels like an egg and it's colored like a white egg. It was instantly the association I had with it the moment I took it out of the box!
Great video. I also bought the OP1 8k. One question, the stock switches are these Kahil GX switches. They don't feel light enough to me, you mentioned in the video that you can buy lighter ones. Do these lighter switches also support speed mode for short click latency? Another point is that I have 18 x 11 hands and in the first few days of using the mouse, my hand starts to hurt. But over time it has eased up. So if you have larger hands, especially in terms of width, I would tend to advise against this mouse.
Lovely video as always ❤ Setup Tour when?
Thank you SOON™
Hey jakeu ! Nice review, I got one because of you now :') I had one question, what mouse bungee do you use ? Or what do you recommend ? I need one, but i don't know which one i should take, and it's been so long since i didn't use a wired mouse
All I need is a slightly bigger version of the OP1, since I have 22x10 cm hands, and I might actually get off the GPX for good.
Just had the op1we and the op1 8k arrived with the new wall hack pad, very excited
Been using my op1 8k for a week and a bit now, got a slight qc issue but a replacement got easily sent out and even with the issue I have it's easily my fav mouse (I own like 9 other mice altho 3 are broken lmao).
What was the issue? And did they make you send the broken one back or did they let you keep it?
Gotta compare with sora v2 and u2... and whatever else gwolves eventually releases 😅
just got my sora v2 today. my favorite mouse ive ever owned no bs
Hey, nice review. A few things, I also own one of these and your absolutely correct about the build and enthusiast type of features. You mentioned motion sync off in 8k, correct me if i am wrong but I think at 8k it forces motion sync off completely. I noticed we got a 1.06 firmware update. Do you know if that pertains to fixing the click option in the mouse software as you mentioned? I have been trying to find the release notes but have yet to be successful.
We always have the changelog on our Discord. 1.06 and 1.09 don't fix the SPDT modes just yet but we're currently testing a new beta.
@Endgamegear_Max Hey, thanks for the response! Another question down the road will you guys be offering (and not that it's bad) optional para cables with stress relief just like the stock one?
I think whether 8khz works or not depends mostly on the length of the cable and not the type. I got a 1.4m paracord on my dav3 wired and it works flawlessly. When I ordered it i was being told that the cable should be max 1.5-1.6m for 8khz to work. And also I heard zaunönig had to delay the release of their mouse a while ago because the wire was too long and 8khz didn't work so they shortened the wires to fix that and most 8khz wired mice have a shorter cable than the standard 2m.
Thank you for sharing that info! That does make a lot of sense.
Good video Jakeu, I bought one 2 days ago without even thinking about it
Same lol I have the htx hts and g pro they all have had issues and I’m just sick of it this actually seems like it’s just the best mouse of the market right now and I’m dying to try the shape out, I don’t mind the wire at all with a bungee
I would love to get a Sora as I cant afford to import so I got a bunch if shapes 3D printed and I think this is the closesr ro rhe Sora but Its available in my country . Well the WE is not the 8K and your review convinced me to get an OP1
now this is art
🗿
Would this mouse be good for a relaxed fingertip grip?
The wire was a positive for me. I love this mouse and I’m very impressed with its performance.
Do the stock skates work got glass pads or should i buy thr ptfe ones? ❤
Which switch is the lightest for this mouse? 😊 i would like to buy the lightest, and snappiest.
Hi, complete beginner here, when should I be using the spare mouse skates? Should I be replacing them as soon as I get the mouse?
I got my OP1. Great piece, the mouse click is a little heavy for my taste but eh. It’s good.
what bungee do you use or recomend?
@jakeu do you know if op1 switches are the same ones that the op1 8k have? For a budget deal couldn't afford the 8k version but I was wondering because I'm waiting my op1 for arrival
Are the switches really light? Like I have the beast x and I love how light those switches are. Have you tried the beast x to know the difference between the two? Also I have the original padsmith temple of dreams mousepad and I was wondering how it compares to like a Saturn pro/game sense radar/gsr2, have you tried these ones to know?
Would you recommend the hyperx pulsefire haste wired 8k because in India this mouse isn't available (I already won a viper mini and I like wired mouse and I am a claw grip user so can't use v3 pro wired)
what are the disadvantages of wire? i'm scared of draggin it , i dont have bungee tho but still not sure
21x11.5 hands and hoping they make a slightly bigger one soon
Finally a mouse I don't need to charge battery every day.
I bought the mouse before knowing I can't install the configuration tool on iMac, now I don't know how to change the tracking speed on my mouse, and yes I did change it on the imac setting, but that is still too slow for my liking.
I hope the wired mice make a comeback, having a router in my desk makes me always worry about wireless interference.
Wireless is better if you're in a small space
Where did you get that bungee?
what games do u play?
Gotta say I didn't expect a wired mouse to become my favourite in 2024. I used to be a wireless elitist but this one has changed my mind. I really can't find anything to complain about. Ngl I can't notice the difference at over 1k polling rate even at 1000fps + and 360hz in kovaak's but I mean if it's there you might as well use it since it's a wired mouse anyway. If you're on a wireless mouse I don't recommend going over 1k though because you drain your battery like 4x as quickly for basically no reason. I thought it was just another cope by people who were also saying that monitor refresh rate past 144 or 240 isn't noticeable but I legit don't notice it on the mouse AT ALL.
what game are you playing @ 10:52 ?
This or zowie U2 for claw grip 18x10 hand
Both would work, but the OP1 is more viable, whereas the U2 is very aggr. claw specific and gives you a very locked in grip.
@@jakeufps hmm U2 sounds then better as i have used G303SE with agressive claw. I like that my fingers can get solid grip of the shape thats why i liked G303 a lot. Great videos btw keep up the good work
@@jakeufpsyou mean versatile?
We need video about setuppp!!!! Rooooommmtour!
I PROMISE I'LL MAKE IT SOON 😭
X2H Mini user here, 18.5 x 10.5 cm hands. Should i switch to the OP1? Looks very similar
did you switch? how was it
@jakeu - great review as always, can you tell me where you got your USB wireless dongle holder from please?
Thank you! It's in the description
I subbed but didnt ring the bell lol. You did not convince me to do so, im so smart 🤣
this mouse is nice
Best buttons of any mouse i've ever used, but man its too damn small, after two weeks i had to stop using it. If Endgame gear make a larger one ill be all over it.
looking at this mouse in elo shapes its just too similar to the x2h mini i am currently using. I'll hold my horses until they make a wireless version with better clicks out the box.
The 8k has better clicks out of the box, the op1we has the heavier ones
@@chinnerchilla can you swap any switch in the op1we as well? not going to use a cable mouse again. also if you compare shapes its very similar to the x2h mini i am currently using, so they gotta do a bit more than 8k wired to make it worth the money.
11:45 which mouse is that on the right of the op18k?
hts?
yeah, HTS+ Classic
Still using an old ass model o, and I don't even notice that cable. I'll use a newer wired mouse all day lol
Guys help. I have 6 mice and I lowkey feel guilty even thinking about buying this mouse, but I only have a 165hz monitor. Anyways thoughts?
I have £70 to spend on a mouse and keyboard, what should I get?
r1 se mouse
What's the name of that white mouse with orange scroll wheel?
I think it's the sprime pm1
:skull: first
i wish theres a wireless version of this.
op1w
its not the same unfortunately@@donaldnguyen19
what are the disadvantages of the wire without the bungee, is it bad? i havent use wire in a while and i do wonder in games like lol with fingertip grip aswell , is cheap versus for example the wl beastx
I have the op1 8k and I gave myself some slack and taped it to the back of my desk. Works great and saved money not buying a bungee
THE MOUSE IS UN-STUB-ABLE AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA
the mouse shape is too small and awkward for me unfortunately
is it suitable for hand size 19 x 10 cm? thanks
if you'd watch the video you know :^) but yes, especially for relaxed or aggr. claw, my hands are 19x10 as well, fit me perfectly
digga ich sub nicht! XD aber wer hats predicted? WAL op1 8k geisteskrank
And the only 2 games are Valorant and Overwatch you can play on 8k…
