I remember growing up to beautiful music like this…..Art like this educated and inspired. Their messages are POWERFUL and carried so much growing up in a very poor environment. ❤❤❤
classic hip hop at its finest
This hits just as hard in 2022, than it did in 1994.
🙌🙌
This hit came out in 1993
@@williamwoodruff367 When lyricists were talking about something,
Hits much harder. Women have absolutely zero self respect in 2023

100 years later but the song is still in our hearts!
100 years are you for real?
This song is 28 years old.
@@xxgaming_angelsxx 28 years is less than 100 fool
The sax doesn't get enough love
Queen latifah still looks the same. She ain't aged.
Black def don't crack
@@somebodysomebody7067 Every race cracks and ages, but the darker skin helps to hide the wrinkles. My source: I'm an MD.
@@tamilashultz9676 Um, nope. Blacks always look more youthful. My source: my 65 year old mother who looks 40.
@@tamilashultz9676 nah black don’t crack lol
@@somebodysomebody7067 As a medical doctor I can assure you that it does. The darker skin helps to hide the wrinkles and cracks the same way that a black shirt will help hide fat rolls.
Queen Latifah is way better than these new girls calling themselves queens . She's the original. I love you QUEEN LATIFAH!
Facts her and MC Lyte was Diamonds on the mic sad Queen don't have I am hip hop award.
Monica Hicks One of my top 5.. Respect
Tasha is korean fenale rapper Latifa reminds me music of her
A pioneer
You got that right.
❤❤❤ this message…. Love it. And it wasn’t the nineties of a sax wasn’t in the song. ❤
This is just a masterpiece! I remember listening to this song on the school bus in 1994, but not really understanding the power of the lyrics. My mom was beaten by her first husband but when she went to the police station they told her to go home and wouldn't help her because it was the 1960's and she was married to the person who beat her. 😭😭😭
Golden years of HIP HOP. And this saxophone :) Love it.
***** Me too :) I play this song EVERYDAY
why do songs that shame women have more views than this video? smh. love this song
Ikr it's sickening
+Verbal Kint sex sold, while the truth is never told......
TOJ72 preach
+daisy word! some people rather see women only as sex objects versus strong and intelligent
Right! We need more songs like this bc we're worth a lot.
2023 and still rocking this!! Go on queen ❤
For me, this is real rap/ music. I'm a 80's child and I grew up on the best. This stuff some of these women rappers are saying, well, they're not saying nothing.
im black and jamaican, this gives me a sense of pride and i love it
Don't worry..Be Happy
Pride 😤 🌈 🏳️🌈 😤 I'VE HAD ABOUT ENOUGH OF THIS GAY PRIDE 🏳️🌈 🌈 😠
Black and Jamaican are the same thing 🤨. You're a descentant of Africa 🤦
So u never had pride before??? You african in everyones eyes!
@@jermainelatimer804 he an island boy! They dumb & confused...lol
I love when old school hip hop videos have little kids just running around playin in the hood smiling having fun. I miss those days man. Back in the DAY
Yup every kid plays fortnite now
I know my brotha, I miss dem videos from dem days.
these days the music videos got elders holding guns and and acting all aggressive ,,, these music videos got kids dying too mann :( but i guess the music videos w the kids doing that stuff is a true representation of whats happening today , ion know
Geron I miss those youthful days
Geron Fletcher that’s all us yougins use to do was play outside no videos games just fresh air and back yards
Mama love taught me this song growing up 💯 .. I love listening to this now more than ever now that she’s gone .. main reason I treat women with respect no matter what .. sometimes they’ll play you but it’s best to move on & wish em the best .. chin up gangsta real Men still get their flowers 💐🐺
Queen has always been way ahead of her time. This song is legendary and will never go out
queen latifah said “we don’t slut-shame in this game” too bad they didn’t listen ;-;
That's so true
That's not what she said at all. If you're a slut you're a slut. Being a woman does not equate to being slut or a whore is what I took from her lyrics. I fully agree. Being a whore is never cool guys. Not sure what happened to this generation but pray peoples daughters don't get caught up in whore glamorozation nonsense thats persistent right now.
@@khalid749 how you take all that from her comment ?....
@@desj9011 keep up. Im talking about Queen Latifah's lyrics not this woman's comment.
@@khalid749 you mean both?
My mother named me after this song 💞💞
Dope
Awww that is cute
Awesome :3333
And is your surname ''Ruffneck'' as well?
I love and respect Queen Latifah. One time I was asked the security question who was my favorite teacher. My answer Queen Latifah we both just start giggling😊 if the Queen see this . I hope it makes her smile.😊
*When we were kids "Our parents just* *don't understand this music"* *Now as parents "Kids just don't* *understand this music" ☺️* *If you're 25 and under listening to this I**salute you 🙌*
that's just how it goes
So true
14
Lol im 13.
Lol I’m 12
Latifah was probably about 20 years old at this time.... peep how mature and classy she was... she demanded respect and respected herself. Listen to the messages of the female rappers today (expect for women like Rapsody).
20?! She first came out in 1987, and she sure as heck wasn't 14 then lol.
Word! There are still some good female rappers like u said Rapsody is dope also Sa-Roc is dope as fuck
@@Aphoresis she was 23
Queen is so classic hip hop artist
This woman doesn't even know how much of a legend she is ❤
That saxophone go crazy!!!
