I thought it was weird that Sam carries the body of the villain who tried to kill him to the ambulance, but the wounded friend who saved him has to limp there on her own. "Oh, hey Sharon! You're still alive? Cool."
Yeah, the writers clearly didn’t think out the details. Then Sharon was just chilling with a gunshot to her stomach while Falcon was making his speech. When a gunshot to the stomach is one of the worst places to get shot.

When the Hawkeye series premiers, I want a scene with Clint on the couch drinking a beer and watching the news about the Flagsmasher's attack. Then Kate Bishop asking if he should go help, being only a few blocks away. Then Hawkeye responding that Sam and Bucky have it handled.

Im impressed with how much Zemo stuck to his guns, he didn't have any ulterior motives beyond eliminating the super soldiers. He was even ready to die by bucky, he plotted his epic escape! Just to visit a memorial to his family/home. What a guy.

Seeing Sam in his new suit beating up the leaper while making French puns was a nice reminder that this is a comic book movie. In terms of cheesy one liners, that was some of the best in marvel.
I love how they made parallels to the first episode. First episode's covert mission was to seek and destroy in broad daylight and he refuses to be the next Cap. Last episode is at night in public, search and rescue where he embraces the shield.

@@benrcohn Or she is still CIA and her enemy of the state story is made up by them. Which would both make sense for the CIA and Sharon Carter. But yes, there are a lot of interesting, very plausible, and comic-related possibilities.
You know usually the suits and costumes in the MCU and DCEU can either look like complete redesigns or pretty close to the source material, Cap Falcon’s suit looks like it was ripped out of All New Avengers. It’s ridiculous how accurate it is. I hope they do this some more with other characters.

I think a few alterations aren’t bad, for example the scarlet witch costume is awesome but looks different to the comics in a good way.
@@Otoskire 100% Scarlet Witch couldn't go to the cheesecake designs from before. They're painful to look at now.
@@Otoskire yeah but they do pretty well when it’s something like that. Only complaint is that the colors aren’t as bright or vibrant.
I think the reason for this is largely that more recent comic designs, like Cap Falcon, are easier to translate to film without needing to alter them much because they're often already designed to be more realistic/practical than classic spandex looks. Usually the goal is to modernize them in some way or to find a balance between accuracy and what actually looks good on a real person.

I thought that it was weird for Sam to just bail on Sharon to mourn Karli. Was he mad at Sharon for killing Karli? Seems a bit extreme, unless he overheard the revealing Power Broker talk... figured that was her chance to get away and go back to being sneaky... but then he's all chill with her, later, and she gets pardoned, ready to do some shady shit and set up for Armour Wars, probably?
I'm loving that John Walker is picking up the U.S Agent persona, not as revenge but he sees it as his second chance to maybe do something right
somehow I doubt that's gonna pan out for him though, now working for Madame Hydra lol.
Even though he's working for a literal villain. Yeah, at first I did not like that he didn't go full-unhinged and tried to do the right thing. I kinda wanted to see him lose his mind and become the real antagonist of the finale. But seeing him suit up and get the U.S. Agent name and clearly thinking he's been redeemed and back on the right side, so naïve as he works for a known (to us) Hydra leader... I love it and can't wait to see what comes next.
@@Mitsuraga to be fair, it's well known she's a hydra leader to us, the fans... but not to the characters themselves, or the audiences that don't know who she is. Walker isn't exactly choosing to work for Hydra, he just doesn't know he is. Honestly I think the character and actor has the potential to tell his own compelling story going forward.... imagine how unhinged he's get once he finds out he's actually a Hydra agent and not one of the good guys, that he's been manipulated to do terrible things, and goes on a warpath against all things Hydra... I'd pay to see that for sure, Wyatt knocked it out of the park, he can carry his own film/series.

Tbh I think people are starting to realize these are more supposed to be an exercise in character work than it is supposed to be a groundbreaking story filled with major action set pieces and all the cameos money can buy. It’s a barebones but completely serviceable plot paired with spectacular character writing and great acting which serves as a set up for future film projects as well
My main issue with this series is that I liked the Flagsmashers and Zemo more than any of the characters we were supposed to be rooting for. Captain America’s monologue near the end helped assuage that a bit but still, Zemo, Karli, and even Sharon Carter are much easier to get behind.
I loved that Bucky is the guy that picks up a random cake at Rouses on the way to the big cookout.
There's fresh pecan pie at the community cookout, so naturally the white friend comes over with store bought cake.

very true, ww1 pilots had no sealed-in cockpits, and once up in the air, no matter what time of year, the air is COLD AF!!! I would wager a guess that Marvel could just say, yeah, but his tech has countermeasures for that, like his vibranium headband and goggles are heated internally or something. I actually like the idea that Sharons access is the catalyst for Armor Wars.
Imagine if Bucky had been fighting in endgame and got tapped in the right spot and his arm just flung off and he had to manually beat foes with his dismembered arm using his one good arm.

It's more that Apple will not sign off on villains using an Iphone. Non Iphone use not guaranteed to lead to villainy.

It's nice that the ending said "Captain America and the Winter Soldier," but they are overlooking that Bucky is free from being the Winter Soldier, so it should be "Captain America and the White Wolf."

Loved the series overall! It dealt with a lot more grey areas than I expected, especially with Walker towing the line between villain and hero the whole time. I also went from End Game thinking "I guess Sam is gonna be Cap now. How's that gonna work?" to finishing this episode and thinking "Fuck yeah, you go Sam! You are Captain America!"

Marvel is just having technical difficulties with scheduling a time to film with the actor who portrays old man Steve Rogers. Which is understandable, he is the President of the United States after all.
My reaction to Karli’s death was, ‘Oh, no! Anyway.’ I couldn’t care less about her death, I never liked her character and never even moved towards liking her, unlike other Marvel antagonists. I’m also glad she didn’t have some last minute redemption moment where she saw the error of her ways, wouldn’t have seemed right after the amount of times she just ignores logic.

I honestly feel bad for all of the flag smashers because their storyline got legit cut and they had to change it to the shitty shit we got.
That character had weak motivation and logic was super flawed. Also, in some point I began questioning: how that group got into Super Soldier experiment in the first place? Did he just asked some people from near by night club? Cause she didn't seem like a soldier at all - just some random barely legal girl with really bad childhood and a blimp.

Agreed, she annoyed me to death. Don't call them terrorists........except for the building of people they blew up, or killing Battlestar, or trying unrelentingly to kill all these other people. I was ready for the smashers to leave. Good on ya Zemos butler, keeping things tidy.
When he used the jet pack to help thrust him forward with the shield up it reminded me of the Charging Star attack in MVC
In the end credits scene, Sharon Carter said something about having military prototypes... which could involve the US's attempts at iron man suits and other similar tech which makes me think that maybe she'll be the main villain in Armor Wars or something
All I wanted to see was old man Steve watching the news during Sam's speech, nodding in appreciation, silently saying: "That's why it's Yours." It was in New York gat dammit!! Hell, even a lil joke at the end with Spidey showing up late saying: "Arrgggh, it's over already?!" and Sam saying: "Wussup Webhead."

When Carli said "worst case scenario: we kill them" and the other Smashers said "Wha? we never thought we'd kill anybody as a worst-case scenario! Even though we've killed a bunch as a distraction tactic mid-game." I lost immersion for a bit.
Wasn't the point of the scene where Karli blew up the embassy to show that she was willing to kill, but the others weren't? The guy she was with seemed somewhat appalled at the murders. Then in the finale she says to kill the hostages and the others aren't sure (killing hostages is the worst move when you intend to use them as leverage). Then she follows up by saying that they should all fight to the death for their cause, showing that she is more radicalized (and selfless, to her mind) than the other Flag-Smashers.
@@evan6338 IIRC in the finale she specifically says something like "worst case" or "if everything else fails" we should kill the hostages . Which is a bit different. And what hostages are for. Unless I"m wrong again, of course!
