  • After owning four EVs from four different brands, Ford, GM, Kia, and Tesla, IMO, Tesla is far ahead. The ownership experience is much more fun with the huge user base, continuous software updates, FSD, and process for ordering and scheduling service. Buying through a traditional dealership is usually stressful and the Tesla experience is far far better.

    • And the other car companies (other than Tesla or the Chinese car companies) have lowered the number of EVs they will make because the dealerships are charging more and making it almost impossible to sell the EVs. Then the manufacturers say - no one wants EVs. They are driving themselves off the cliff. I have zero sympathy for them.

I think that actual competition has to be available now or available to order in 2024 which is not the case for many cars mentioned in this post. The teslas are available now and a lot of these so called competitors are not. It’s too easy for brands suck us in with promised releases of cars in the future which you can’t purchase now and may change a lot before release. One could never commit to a purchase and keep waiting for the next miracle product. Tesla has the runs on the board. Thanks again.

    • @@rv_x3976no thanks lots of proud Tesla owners out here who love the silent drive. I love listening to music while driving and also love quick speedy acceleration. It’s a cherry on top when my acceleration doesn’t make a noise and doesn’t interfere with my music that’s on. 😌

  • All of these will fail except maybe KIA and they’ll blame it on people not being interested in EVs. The fact is any car over 30K is just too expensive especially with interest rates and the inevitable dealer markups. Paying 40k for a Chevy equinox or a Honda because you can plug it in is a scam.

  • There is no competition until other cars have NACS. When there is, it gets interesting. I'd 100% consider trading my model X and model 3 in for a Rivian or Lucid gravity. I love the idea of ditching Elon and his b.s.

  • Ryan, all your videos feel to me like someone reading a grocery list. Basically I’m not able to keep interested in the video. I’m not saying to complain but hoping you can adapt your video forms. Too compact, so much information but never feels there is any depth. The speed talk, the lack of breaks or change of tempo. Why not have some different segments to your videos, with a segment entry phasing to shift our attention focus. Basically all small ideas you might have considered already or maybe even implemented. I just have a hard time watching a complete video to know if it’s the case. Good luck mate, wish you continued success

    • Yeah but at this point they are yet to be proven wrong. These EVs haven't made any money for anyone other than tesla. When and if that happens then we will see what they do. I think they ran the numbers and figures they can afford to be last to the party with how big they are worldwide.

  • More if these companies will be bankrupt in five years. Plus hp, range, price, and number of speakers may seem like important specs, but far more important is safety, reliability, Charging (NACS), and of course cameras to allow licensing FSD from Tesla. Without FSD capability your offerings is going to be gone before the first one gets delivered.

  • Since I clarified the fact that there will be no Model 2, and instead Elon insists on his sick obsession with the so-called "Robotaxi", I no longer want to hear about Tesla. By the way, I have owned, for 3 years, a Dacia Spring electric car, which cost the fabulous amount of ... 8,000 euros (after subsidies), half of the cheapest petrol smoker on the market, and I have the battery guaranteed for 8 years. The car has an average consumption of 10.5 kWh/100km, equivalent to 1.5 l/100 km of petrol, compared to the 10 l/100km my old car used on petrol. In 3 years, I saved approximately 4,000 euros just from the difference in fuel price, not to mention that I have practically no maintenance on the electric car (I no longer change engine oil, transmission oil, filters, distribution, spark plugs, etc.). In 6 years, the price paid for the electric car will be fully amortized, it will be as if I had received the car for free.

  • Tesla used prices continue to plunge so why that is is quite mysterious but certainly not only amazing vehicles and best by far in the World of pure play BEV but given Cybertruck only going to get much much better which is probably what people are holding out for and hence the massive depreciation. Trying to compete with Tesla in the Sedan market cannot be easy right now by *anyone* and while the mide size SUV market is ferociously competitive right now between Rav4, CRV and Model Y the Tesla Model Y seems to be right now quite suddenly very much pulling ahead of the entire Industry. I honestly do not see any competition with Tesla at the moment from any Industry player but Ford has started out well with the Mach-E Mustang which has huge improvements en route. This will need to be equalled by the F150 Lightning for 2025 as well. Only vehicle currently worth looking at as an impulse buy imo is the Subaru BRZ. Mid size and full size truck segment might be worth a look at the end of summer tho once Cybertruck impact begins to be seen more fully. Rivian has a great product line but needs to really be aggressive with charging infrastructure...as does Ford. And by that I mean "free charging." Until then still zero competition with Tesla for pure play BEV. We'll see what GM rolls out this Fall, tho absolutely true dat.
