    • But it's just like graduation, no? It's just the beginning. The draft and being selected in the first round don't mean anything if you end up being a bust. It's just an everyday job. You can get into a big company with a great starting salary but it doesn't mean anything if you end up getting fired and don't develop yourself.

  • I'm not a diehard football fan, but I ALWAYS watch the draft. I love the raw emotion and I love to see when a guy drops from a lottery pick to a late first and sometimes even to a 2nd round pick. Then all the excuses and conspiracy theories come out. Best reality show on TV.

  • The Oakland Raiders: The only team to ever use a 1st Round Pick on a Punter, and a 1st Round Pick on a Kicker. And both of those were great picks at the end of the day. One is in Canton, and the other is gonna at least be considered for it.

  • Funny thing about Minnesota missing their picks is that while it was embarrassing at the time, they got Bryant McKinnie in 2002, who ended up as a solid starter for them, and in 2003 they got Kevin Williams who had a fantastic career.

    • It wasn’t even the full first round Malik Willis got dressed up all nice for the draft thinking he maybe could’ve gone #2 overall And he had to go back to his hotel at the end of the night with no team. I don’t think of someone who got drafted in the first round as someone who fell. Did the other teams make a mistake? Absolutely. My raiders in particular. That’s not falling though.

Sure he had a nice little gimmick for one season, but even in that season defenses started to figure him out and he fizzled out toward the end.
