    • Interestingly it's not at all the original way of speaking. Most if not all accents in England were rhotic to begin with, but now non-rhoticism like the received pronunciation accent you are thinking of is far more common (think of the r in car, carrr vs cah). There are still a ton of different accents in England even today.

  • I really appreciate you giving your students the transcription of the pronunciation. It really does help in learning how to pronounce and read new words when you learn a language. The pronunciation differences between dialects, as you've shown in a few of your videos, can be very subtle at times, which makes being able to see it written so helpful.

  • Usually Arab students find these words " work, world, world, water" difficult to pronounce like the British. Teachers at schools use the american pronunciation, and sometimes even the pronunciation is wrong. Anyway, by hard working students can learn the right pronunciation in your channel. There is a difference between accent and pronunciation (check phonetics - british er and american er) while accent is for example how Egyptians say the letter ج . Second, I am talking about something that is taking place at schools and in general. Please next time read carefully before you jump into conclusion.

  • 5. 'Government' is also pronounced as ɡʌ𝐯ə𝐦(ə)𝐧𝐭 ɡʌ𝐯.ə𝐦.𝐦ə𝐧𝐭 I think the letter 'n' is replaced with the letter 'm' or 'n' is silent here.

  • Lucy, as you are a brilliant English teacher, I reckon that you would love to learn new things in life and wouldn't mind if somebody would correct you in your speech at some points. With this hope, I want to tell an error in your speech which can be heard frequently, you must be well aware of the rule to use THE as THEE before vowel sounds and THE as THUH before consonant sounds. I could hear you saying THUH one hundred, THEE most etc., which is both grammatically and comfort-wise wrong. Hope you don't get me wrong and understand my point.🤗🤗
