Joe Rogan had Francis Ngannou, and asked him about his UFC negotiation with Dana White and Hunter Cambell!

  • $1.50 per pay per view when the UFC sell 1+million pay per views he’s making $1,500,000 just on that alone. Not to mention show and win money plus outside endorsements. Assuming $500,000 show and $500,000 win. He’s bringing in $2,500,000 not counting outside endorsements for 12 weeks of hard training to prepare for 1-5 rounds of fighting. That’s great money… but I do see the argument where these guys want to make double that because of how tough this professional is on their body and minds.

    • That's a lot of dough indeed, but his main issue is knowing the PPV earnings of Jones, Conor, and Izzy. They make at least 10 million each, so that's why he found the Deal disrespectful.

    • His outside endorsements should have no factor in what the UFC pays him/ or his UFC contract. His outside endorsements are what his management team works to get him and they take a pretty healthy cut of it too.

    • @@MMABoutsOfficial I didn’t know those figures were confirmed for Jones/Izzy/conor. Always been curious to know contractual details for those guys. But also to be fair conor has sold over a million PPVs and holds most of the top 10 PPV of all time with Floyd. So he’s in his own league and should be rewarded as such in my opinion. Wish ngannou was able to do the boxing fight in his deal and make 30+ million that way with them. But it looks like it all worked itself out.

      @Thedevinwills@Thedevinwills7 ай бұрын
    • @@Drizzylaflair I think if you want more than $1.50 you need to be deserving of that. You need to command the audiences to want to buy your PPV fights like o’Malley, Conor, and others do. He’s a very talented fighter with amazing knockout skills, but a lot of people aren’t too excited to pay for his fights just looking at the stats. Not sure why that is, but I guess there should be more points in the table for champions as a standard. You fight for cheap for so many years and once you wear the gold belt you should be rewarded as a UFC champion. 5% of the PPV would be $4.00. So maybe that’s the magic number at a PPv cost of $80. Hard to say

That Reebok deal was and is criminal, just simply Dana seeing fighters making money that he wanted I don't care what way they spin it. And it is the biggest joke that after they took away the fighters ability to have sponsors, they then covered the octagon in them. So they literally took the Reebok money, and then money from some of the companies that sponsored fighters. Here, take pennies on the dollar from this deal that we're making way more on, oh and we'll also have your sponsors thanks. That is called having your cake, and eating it too. Honestly, sponsored shorts looked way cooler anyway. It added to the raw, renegade feel the company had back then. I still love it and part of me always will, but I can't lie there was something about it back then that the corporate slick outfit they are now just doesn't have, and removing the sponsorships was a part of it. • Francis appears to be a man of his word. I love how he said it was not so much just the amount (on the ppv) ) it was more about the proportion UFC goes from 60-80 & only gives.25 to the fighter. Then obviously after he decides to leave they say you can have everything & back pay too..Obviously it shows you’ve been very unfair. Very disrespectful to a major attraction for the UFC. Greed is ridiculous-these guys are breaking limbs- AND its not like the UFC is struggling!

Taking advantage of young naive guys that just want to fight. They don't know any better and when they are grow and learn-it will be too late for them-and the UFC will have already used them for $$. Best wishes to Frances. Can't wait to buy his PPV!

  • I think the reason the ufc can justify the only very small uptick in ppv points given to fighters, while having increased the cost of ppv so much, is because their business model has shifted away from ppv and towards television deals. We don’t often see them, but in many markets, tv stations pay big bucks to exclusively air ufc events. However, I also think that the ufc made this shift in part to reduce the bargaining power of the fighters. In the past, a big fighter could easily calculate their value to the company. Now a lot of that value is hidden in these TV contracts.
