  • Brakes are spring applied pressure released, feed oil to the fitting at the brake housings next to final drive (hose you removed), a hand pump with a suitable hose(JIC fittings) will release the brakes. Alternatively remove track motor and brake unit but do not remove the planetary gear cover as this will give more headaches. Early m/c may have a disconnect shaft behind a small plate behind the sprocket But can’t be certain, maybe mixing it up with the larger machines, 225,235,245 The LC stands for long undercarriage giving better stability.

    • Heavy D would have a crew of 15, turn up in a fleet of unsuitable vehicles, including a helicopter for reasons no one has ever been able to work out. Perhaps he just likes to flex. The title would be" Our Most Dangerous Mountaintop Recovery, Ever! Will We Die?" Most of the video would be him talking about how great he is, which is his favourite subject, or plugging some dodgy sponsored product, while Alan does all the actual work. The English way: two blokes, a big hammer and a sense of humour.

  • Great to watch the Foden truck's recovery winch pull the excavator (with non rotating tracks) as if it was a go cart! I can only imagine the force required to move the excavator; 60,000 lbs (roughly 27,000 kg) or more would be my guess.
