Joining the lofi community was the best decision of my life, i've never felt more calm and peaceful in my entire life. As someone who suffers from 7 mental diseases and goes to therapy every month, this community has helped me as much as my therapist did. You guys helped me out of my depression which lasted 4 months and I really want to thank you all for that, I could've never done it without you

Been coding for 40yrs starting out on a Commodore Vic20 when I was 17 (Still have the unit)... and have worked in various coding capacities in the financial industry since '86. Stay the course. I'm 18 and started to get serious about coding only recently -- been exploring Linux lately (fiddling with Arch) and everything is so interesting and exciting that I think I might have really found my place. One of the most motivational things to me is seeing the passion and hard work that the people of the previous generation have put into developing and documenting the tools we now use and take for granted. exactly what I was looking for when studying coding. Just upbeat enough that i'm alert but still ultimately chill. Many of the other lofi playlists I find are just a little too relaxed and chill for studying or active learning.

To everyone reading this, you're doing great. Keep up the good work. It's easy to feel stagnant sometimes in this field, but look back at what you knew 6 months ago, a year ago, 3 years ago, compared to what you know now. Most knowledge (and more importantly, the wisdom of where and when to apply it or not!) is acquired in little increments over the course of your career and the way they add up is sneaky, you don't even notice. Give yourself some more credit for this. And remember that what seems intimidating now will feel super easy soon enough-- just like everything else you've learned and built upon felt like at first. You've got this. And a little aside: instead of directly copy&pasting from SO, try re-typing it-- helps you understand what's going on a little better and retain the information more in case you have to apply it again somewhere else!

@@mmaaauuuuiiiii Oh damn, awesome, so this is your last semester, right? I'm third year, but technically starting coding this semester. What I did was I took my first years all the basic classes like the Englishes, Calculus, etc, and now I can focus *mostly* on my concentrations.
