We got so much flak in the 80s and 90s for wearing sneakers on our commutes to and from the office. My office was a conservative corporate one and we were expected to wear pumps. But, there was no way I could walk the mile-long portion of my commute over broken concrete, rubble, rocks and mud in heels. Some even told us to not enter the building with them on, but to change our shoes outside first! Men, they don’t get it, they always wear flat, comfortable shoes. We cheerfully ignored that and changed shoes at our desks. What a relief is was to get our sneakers on after a day of pinching pumps!

my mother hated my sneaker wearing with everything for the longest time 🤣 she had never owned a pair out of doing sports ever in her life. It was not something she would EVER wear. Weeeeell how the turn tables, because she finally got herself white high top sneakers now at 70 years old and is like "HOW have I missed out on this COMFORT my whole life!!!!" She looks so cute in them too So for you out there that frowns upon sneakers, just do it. Start with jeans and a nice oversized dress shirt in a light fabric. You can't possibly hate that look.

Love sneakers with so many different looks! Comfort, Fun and Style ❤ My husband and I were married at the base of a waterfall, so we both wore Adidas hiking style trainers…..he wore a blue suit with black trainers and I wore a white mermaid style gown with blue trainers (something 💙).
Something else I asked you about last time was styling the maxi length (on me) trench. I’m loving the swooshy feel of it over an already swooshy dress. It’s surprisingly warm being lined, for chilly days, so I think I’ll be wearing it well into Autumn. I was unsure about it being a petite but it looks and feels great. It was just a bit out of my comfort zone. Keeps my maxi dress dry during a downpour! Definitely encourage ladies who are unsure to try your suggestion of plain sleek sneakers. I’ve not wanted to wear anything else much at all. Comfort is priceless.
Went to a conference in Venice, Italy and happily noticed that even in a relatively formal, academic environment most people were wearing sneakers! When I was a student there many years ago they were not frowned upon either because in that city walkable shoes are a true necessity and non optional but now I feel that they have been embraced completely and love it!

I started wearing sneakers last year (probably heard about them on your channel ). Plain white low rise. Not true sneakers but white leather sneaker like shoes. So comfy and plain white does go with anything. Didn’t want to give them up till weather changed and I had to. Love them. Fortunately at my office everyone wears sneakers so win win. In summer I love maxi dresses and unless it’s really too hot for closed in shoes, sneakers are my go-to faves.

Dear Linda Adams: I like single-colored high-top sneakers on a woman: all white -- or all black with *white socks, four inches above* the show line, while showing shins.
I was getting ready to look for link for Chloe but you saved me the effort. One thing I like about a classic pair of leather white sneakers in that you can rejuvenate them with some white polish. Okay with matching accessories with the sneaks make it more intentional verse the movie Working Girl vibe (this was me at time back in the day). There were days I kept them on all day because I am just sitting at my desk but my heels were under the desk in case. Yeah I do like a good sock with my tennis shoes because it an accessory that perserve them and it can add it own statement. Thanks for sharing and Ta ta for now!

For the sneaker.dress combo dilemma - its best to use fashion sneakers (converse, jordans or other leather sneakers) as opposed to actual sports/running style sneakers which can look a bit off.

I love my Golden Goose sneakers. They are oh so comfortable and stylish. ECCO Soft 7 sneakers are amazing as well. A lot more affordable than the Golden Goose. I will be open-minded about the socks with the sneakers. Great tips.

7 yrars ago my daughter-in-law wore white snickers to her wedding and it was a lavish and formal wedding at that😊 I was wondering how she was able to dance and jump around with no feet ache! I found out how the next day and I was flabbergasted 😅 good for her though 😂

Can't go wrong with Keds or Converse, especially if on a budget. Otherwise I go for a simple all one color walking shoe (black , brown or white) when spending a lot of time on my feet.
There are lots of velcro sneakers/sports shoes which are not mentioned here. Also stretch fit without velcro or laces. I know my specialist shoe shop has so many pretty styles.

WARNING. The "frumpy" look only occurs for me when the outfit without sneakers was already borderline frumpy. It's a signal to me to change out one of the other pieces, not the sneakers. My favorite white sneakers are Lazer cut lattice and look yummy with almost everything.

I love the idea of a cell phone case love all the visual interest. I never thought of one before. I'm older maybe that's why. The volume, profile, socks or not, and inseam/hemline are really important. I find that I can’t wear different inseam or jeans styles with all my sneakers. I bought a pair of gazelle in 2016 for $40. Samba was about the same on Amazon. Now I can’t find a pair of my size and fave color on Amazon or Adidas site. I have a pair of Stan Smith for 10 years and still can find a new pair on Amazon for $60.
Converse goes great with just about anything.

I always wore sneakers born and raised in NYC and wearing them to work. Always on the go and comfort came 1st and you carried your shoes in the bag.

Love , love this video as I am a sneaker fun , especially my Veja and converse shoes 👟. We are in winter in Australia so it’s a bit more difficult to wear them as boots are a lot better for this weather but you might be able to recommend a pair that I can wear in winter 🥶 😊. Thank you 🙏🏽

If u like the Chloe sneaker Dolce Vita has a Dolen sandstone knit style for $150. They look similar but I found them to look clunky. Might be worth a try.

Since I work remote now, I’ve invested in low, white sneakers. To keep them clean, I wipe them down before I leave the house and carry wet wipes with me during the day. Inevitably, I lightly scuff or stain them throughout the day (i.e., coffee).
I love sneakers. I had a few Chanel, and recently purchased Prada platform ones. Its great to wear with dressy dresses. And i hurt my foot, so no heels for me, for awhile 😂 only sneakers , all i can wear 😜 Have a blessed day🙏💗.

I recently just bought two Prada sneakers. One is the Downtown Sneakers $1070 and the other is the Re-Nylon Prax 1 $1100. I love both, but because of the sneaker trends, I question if the sneakers I bought will have trend longevity. I think they are both classics, which I put a lot of thought when buying them. The Downtown sneakers are retro of the Jordans. And the Prax 1 is definitely classic.

I love the strap I bought from Casetify, but the phone case I got stretched out and my phone kept falling out of the case after that. I don't recommend the cases. But again, I love the strap.

I just purchased 4 pairs of high end designer sneakers. And I don't care if they ever go out of style. I love the comfort and it's worth the expense. No for me on the military chunky hiking sneakers or even chunky shoes. I am petite and I look like mini mouse in those chunky foot wear.

I think if I had a pair of simple, all-white sneakers, I might try them with my skirts and dresses, which I wear most days. I had a pair of new Supergas, but after taking a few steps in them, I decided to sell them, they’re hideously uncomfortable. Part of the problem with sneakers and skirts is that I look shorter in them.
Ecco Soft 7 white sneakers look very smart even with dresses, they are very comfy and supportive and a perfect shoe for travel! I wore mine all over Italy this spring and love them.
My all white adidas superstars look great with dresses and skirts and they are comfy for me😘

I’m petite too and I’ve bought lots of sneaker styles in past couple of years. So far the only ones I like ON ME with any skirt/dress looks are Vejas, the Esplar Low Top style. They’re very streamlined and they are so low cut that they don’t “cut off” (hide) any of your leg. I got one of the ones with the V in a low-contrast neutral, the soft metallic gold, but I also like the all white or the light beige V. Still though I can’t bring myself to wear them with a midi length skirt, like my white or light wash denim skirts which hit below the knee even tho they’re petites. I just feel short & frumpy. Or as my dear mother used to say, like I’m standing in a hole! But I like them with flowier above the knee summer skirts and dresses. I think with a maxi I would want a platform style sneaker, but the Vejas might work when it turns cooler with a longer skirt and maybe a cropped denim or moto jacket, as long as the skirt is flowy at the bottom.
No show socks that don't fall down under the heel... any recommends?
Try Darn Tough No Show socks. They fit well, don’t slide down and were perfect for travel. I can’t wear sneakers without socks if I’m doing a lot of walking. Loved these on my last trip to Italy!
I have the same issue no matter which brand I tried. Super annoying to have to take them off while outside. Now I just wear cycling socks (the ones with little lips) instead. They do show but not as much as low crew socks that are right by the end of ankle bone.

Besides Chloe being pricey as a luxury sneaker, I personally don’t find the design appealing. The material and design is quite busy and complicated with the stitching and weave fabric. Not versatile enough for multiple wear. Just my opinion.

Samba did NOT start the retro trend! There is quite a lot to learn about sneakers for you :(. The trend was started by Adidas Gazelle, Nike Cortez and some others. This Samba craziness is just very recent influencer thing thats not about fashion, just superficial brand hype... I'm a bit disappointed about this video and find it also misleading about what fits with what. Sneaker needs attitude and to look a bit accidental. If you do your sneakers very matchy-matchy, its not a cool look. There are people who are good with wearing sneakers, and they usually KNOW about sneakers, and its not about superficial stuff like colours and even designer brands, some sneakers are true investment pieces and have value much higher than Balenciaga or Chloe that you recommend. So the video like this needs a little more research frankly.
