  • Install a smaller fuel tank and wrap it in 'genuine foam (closed cell) rubber', engine sounds like fuel may be foaming from vibrations at high RPMs. Seal the elevon gaps with either clear tape or clear covering material. Or just build a Simitar! They fly better than deltas do. Old School Model Works just released a built up balsa kit for a Pole Star clone called the Polaris.

    @simitarknut2201@simitarknut220125 күн бұрын
    • Also, forget the rudders, just keep steerable nose wheel, rudders that are so close to the trailing edge act like extra ailerons, i.e. right rudder causes left roll instead of right yaw.

  • Big Salute from Mid Michigan! Very sexy! Capt Blaz said this was hard to land. Looked like it came back to earth just fine! At least he didn’t land it on Venus! This was not a “crash” landing! Blaz was demonstrating how rugged the plane is. He did way better than I could. Sounds like the worst of it is a dirty motor and wet shoes. Um, where did the TV tower go? • Crashed my FMS P40 980mm this morning, too. Rough pavement ripped the main gear clean out of the wings. But, I was landing with a little too much throttle also. Only have 4 flights with her. So, I'm still feeling her out. Glued her back together. Smoothed out a couple scuffs in the prop. She's ready to go back up this evening, when the wind calms down a bit. We all crash. Some are worse than others. It helps for me to bring an easy flier with me. Like Baby Draco. I warm up flying that. And after crashing the p40, flying little Draco around for a few batteries helped my ego recover. Thanks for sharing your ups and downs with us, guys. 👍

  • Im glad its ok! Fun video as always. Believe me your piloting skills saved that plane, you just dont know it. You must have corrected the angle and throttle at the last second to save a balsa plane. Great job. Next time tune your engine on the ground full throttle (you guys do this all the time you were just anxious to fly) and keep power on until you are at the runway with deltas and jets. That was a close one on takeoff with the engine sputtering. Am I hearing air getting through the carb? Happy flying! (Ive been flying nitro planes and helis since the '70s).

  • To be fair, Captain Blas… your brother doesn’t land on the runway very often either… although he does get it slightly nearer than you did this time!😜😳🤗😁🤣👍🏼👍🏼… I love this channel because you film ‘warts and all’ ❤️❤️❤️

  • It looks a little like a Top Flite Holy Smoke. I had one 30 years ago with a Royal 45 in it. Covered in chrome monokote. The seagull racer is better with rudder control. Great video

  • Did the same with my Atomrc Dolphin... Had to do a 'Go around' when a insane dog walker decided to walk my way with 4 dogs...came in for 2nd attempt, turned at low speed and straight down in the dirt. Luckily zero damage! 👍

  • The wing stalled sadly you have to keep the speed up on the turns. Other than that a good maiden and great to see you back on the sticks Captain Blaz 😉👌
