  • For me this will forever be the anthem of the Covid madness. That strange time in our lives when the world shut down and nobody really knew what was going on or what to expect. When we were confined to our little apartments and the radio was playing this masterpiece at least twice an hour. A brilliant song and a stellar performance that somehow fits that time perfectly.

    • Very true. I just came across this video & didn't realize it's from 2020 because it could've been current in 2022. Covid years are an awful blur to me. Everyone sheltered in place with loved ones, watching way too many tik tok videos to songs like this lol. Here's wishing everyone an abundance of good health & mental happiness in 2023.   • As a helicopter pilot myself I have a completely different appreciation for this than most. Ofc the song is great, and I've loved it since it came out. But throwing in the helicopter shots, and the creativity of doing this on top of a skyscraper.... Unmatched. I'm also really glad that the editors didn't cut out the helicopter noise but instead let it remain subtly. All around a fantastic production! Awesome helicopter work by Fred North as usual!!

  • The part when he says, "New York City," and the fireworks start always makes me choke no matter how many times I watch this video. Such dark times for our city, country, world, and The Weeknd, along with the MTV VMAs, were the perfect way to show continuity and normality amid the mayhem.

    • I haven't listened to "every" song he's done yet, like 85% of them going through his KZhead channel. But, I think the reason he didn't win is because his work isn't actually "good"... He only has "3" actually GOOD songs in my opinion. This song, "In your Eyes", and "Save your Tears".... These songs are what real High-Quality music looks like in my view. These are also some of his latest. So, maybe he'll get it next time if he keeps making songs like these. None of his other stuff in my view is any good as to what I've heard save "Starboy" could have been good, but the vulgarity and say "ah" and "ya" too much ruined it, just poor writing. BTW, I'm a singer who sings like George Michael, Pavarotti, and Josh Groban... so yes, I know what really good singers and songs sound like, ones that deserve rewards. There isn't a lot of good quality out these days. People like FAR too much bad music like this guy's other stuff.

    • Not just 1 helicopter, but 2 of them. If you look from 1:28 through 1:33 you can see both helicopters in the background. One is hovering in place directly behind him, and the other is panning from side to side below the stationary one. Huge props to both pilots for keeping things safe and stable while battling the wind-sheer coming up the side of the building.

    • There was no drone. There were 2 helicopters handling the camera work. 1 being used as a key light, the 2nd was used for the live shot with a MASSIVE gimbal stabilizer.

    • It's because of his SB halftime show. The Grammys wanted him to be their main act, but because they're are only one week before the super bowl, The weekend can't perform on both shows. So the Grammys decided to not award him.

  • Por lo que voy notando en cada concierto él sabe cómo manejar la situación,es muy llamativo hacer referencia a que él sí disfruta su trabajo pues pone el empeño que se necesita , hasta yo mismo disfruto de un vídeo así, Abel hace que me sienta como sí hubiese estado ahí disfrutando junto con él de su música ,eres realmente fantástico Abel !!! ; desconozco las veces que reproducire tus videos musicales así sea en un mismo día ,ten la seguridad que mientras viva lo haré tú música me cautivó desde el primer día que la escuché quizás voy retrasado en el éxito que ya haz obtenido pero nunca es demasiado tarde para agregarme; tampoco seré el Fan #1 pero lo que me importa es que estoy aquí ahora y es un privilegio haberte encontrado The weeknd , éxito asegurado por siempre jamás !!! .
