  • I was homeless for abit 2 years ago and ended up renting a room in a run down house with holes in the roof, no heating and damp, which was clearly illegal but it was a place to stay, I got a hamster as it was the only pet i was allowed and called her Evie for a while she was the only thing I had in my life that I could love and care for, I made sure she had everything and was spoilt, she's still alive now and living life in a large cage with everything a hamster needs and wants (I did my research) she's still alive now but we have gone through everything together, I know I sound sad writing this about a hamster but for a while she was all I had to keep me going, we are out of that run down room now, and have a nice home but this song reminds me of her and the hard times I've gone through with her by my side, il be gutted when she passes on but this song will always remind me of her/us ❤️

Half the audience was on their feet in tears -- including all kinds of macho men who were seated with their heads in the hands absolutely sobbing. FORNICATE NOT!!! 1 Corinthians 6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 1 Corinthians 5:1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. My Italian American grandma loved Michael as much as she loved Elvis. She knew the words to many Thriller songs, (we would sing them together!) and like me, she would get so excited when his MTV videos came out, and sometimes we would watch them together. • There are some times when I just break down and cry when I hear this song. Michael's voice is so exquisitely beautiful in every single way, yet tantalizingly eerie and awe-inspiring. Despite my age, I feel as though it was just yesterday when he went on this stage and sang this song. It's so fresh and new to me, even though I've known it all my life. In some ways, I can find relations between this song and Michael himself. "With a friend to call my own, I'll never be alone" is one of the most tear-jerking sentences. Especially as a teenager, he was desolate. He needed a "friend to call his own", yet no-one was ever there for him. He was lonely and burdened at such a tender age, and the public speculated nothing. Even though there is nothing that can change that now, I would like to say a couple things, most of which are directed to Michael. First off, thank you for the music. Thank you for spreading your message of love and helping others. There are endless things I could say about the emotion you pack within your words: the joy, the sorrow, the hopelessness, the hope, the dreams, and the childlike wonder. Even though I cannot help now, I will do my best of protecting your rights even after death (whether it be staged or not), and I will always spread the L.O.V.E. to everyone, just as you would have wanted. Thank you to the user who published the video, and I hope you all have a beautiful day. Please spread the L.O.V.E. and Heal the World.

    • No he didn't write it but HE ASKED for it to be written by Don Black after he saw the film Ben. Black was on TV recently and said he was bemused at being asked to write a song about a rat. MJ said the lyric 'I used to say I and me, now it's us, now it's we' was the most moving song lyric he'd ever heard. Just because an artist doesn't pen the song doesn't make it any less their song. Nor can they be classed as 'stealing' a song if the song rights for other artists to use it are there🤷‍♂️

  • TODAY IN MUSIC Michael Jackson's hit single "Ben" was released on this day in 1972. The theme song to a horror film of the same name, "Ben" was originally supposed to be performed by Donny Osmond, but he was on tour when the track was to be recorded, resulting in Berry Gordy successfully lobbying for Michael Jackson to step in. Since the movie was about a boy and his pet rat, and Michael was known to collect exotic pets including a number of rats, the song and the singer made a perfect pair. The song was MJ's first #1 solo hit, making him the third youngest solo chart topper behind Stevie Wonder and Donny Osmond. "Ben" also won a Golden Globe for Best Song, and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song. [07/12/2022]
