  • Brilliant interview. A host who asks intelligent questions and lets his guest answer without interrupting all the time. There are some serious and deep issues, yet all happens in a relaxed atmosphere, with some funny moments. This is how it should be done.

  • As a man who's also struggled with mental health issues like depression and anxiety, then found the need to pursue therapy and medication, I can appreciate his experience. I've followed a similar path, including outliving a therapist. His wealth has certainly made it more affordable to address his mental health needs, but it still takes courage to face them. His willingness to do so and even more so to publicly share such personal information is brave. His sharing helps lessen the stigma toward mental health treatment, an area most of us can benefit from at some point in our lives. I am hard pressed to find an instance where he isn't aiming to give, help, support, respect, encourage and include others in whatever he's doing. It seems to be in his bones.

  • I love Slavlan as an interviewer/talk show host; respectful, the other guests interchange ideas etc. you can be serious; ok everyone's there to promote something but the conversation always transcends that -- really great format. 3 yrs later I re-read Springsteen's autobiography and it's brilliant. People were so amazed in the last couple of long interviews with Tom Petty how articulate and thoughtful and long-sighted and …. the list goes on; it was a big surprise because he had a public persona that covered up all that deeply sensitive but incredibly insightful big brain -- here the gregarious Springsteen is taking that leap in public and good for him; a good man, my Dad loved him, for good reason. (My Dad hated rock and roll before Springsteen, you can imagine the collective sigh of relief on the part of my sister and me.) Good wishes to all!

In fact just bought another amp😌 I can honestly say, and I've been too a 1000 concerts, he is by far theee best concert I've ever been to. They played for 3 hrs straight. I never sat down once. I love everything he plays. Saw him do a song Thunder Road with Melissa Ethridge and I always wished that was me doing it with . love love low him. That was a silly thing to do. IIt was your life. You did it. No one forced you to. Certainly not Bruce Springsteen. What does your kind say about personal responsibility? What do you suppose happened to you to make you this way? A maga hat? I understand growing up and realizing you are really just another right wing judgmental conservative( so boring) who thinks they know best for everyone but why trump? He is a bad man. A stupid man. And if you think Springsteen doesn't care about you do some research on what trump has done to be people like you. His detests his base. He detests the religious right. Trump is your idea of what a rich man is. Congenitally wealthy, tasteless, vain and stupid. These are demonstrable facts.

  • I've read a lot of comments and the salient theme is respect, ok so he dont dig Trump, ....calls him an embarrassment, but hey it's a free world.... at least till the DEMS take power again. But Bruce is a good man and that can only come from, not the way his early life was but how he dealt with it. Must have been hard coming from Irish- Italian ancestry steeped in the Catholic faith. But he's right, The Beatles actually changed the world. Two Cats, one Prod and a Hebrew, a good scattering of cultures. Don't care about Springstienes politics as I'm sure he doesn't care that much. He's a good guy and I listen to his music and I love it. Bless him and Steven Van Zandt.

    • These rich privileged liberals had their chance to listen to the genuine concerns of working and middle class white Americans back in the early 1990s when rightest intellectuals like Pat Buchanan and others were talking about downside of mass immigration and globalisation, ETC, even if they, (liberals) disagreed with them. Trump is what you get when genuine held concerns are fobbed off by the elites, including money-hungry Republicans who now support globalists like Hillary, as "racist" or Xenophobic" instead of attempting to understand that there are downsides to any ideology. Including globalisation and open borders.

    • @Mike B you're a very angry sad man. You can't make an argument without speaking filth. It always amazes me how angry and vile speaking anti Trump ppl are and they want everyone to take them seriously? It doesn't work like that. If you have genuine arguments put them down in a right way or all you're doing is damaging your cause.

  • Good interview until he started trashing the president of the US. (Mr. "I'm worth $300M" but not in my backard equality/distribution of weath hypocrate). Who has Bruce Springsteen ever helped except himself. Used to like him.

  • Someone should guide / help Skavlan to speak English. Why he need to repeat each word in the sentence 2- 3 times...…?! It is a proffessional guy, but unprofessional expression or bad habit.
