  • Sam, you did it again! What a super nice and positive video. I know the area a bit because I worked as a police officer in the area for 20 years, also 25 years ago I left the area for working in the Zaanstreek. Super coincidence yesterday, I was cleaning in my house and had an old newspaper in my hands with a news article about a 16 yr old girl killed by her boyfriend on december 5 th 1995 (Sinterklaasavond) just a 100 m away from the farm you visited. I was part of the investigation team. Still a bad memory.

  • Top aflevering!

    • When I was young, I lived in a neighborhood on the outskirts of the town. I played in the crop fields a lot, usually corn, sugar beets or potatoes. The countryside really has a lovely serenity to it. Still, it's not for me. I'm more of a small city person: I don't like overly crowded places, but I do like having a lot of decent facilities, beautiful art, architecture and parks nearby, with a lively city center...

    • it would be one of the more exlcusive pieces of steak too, as cows that served as mlik cows aren't generally slaughtered for human consumption, and when they are, they are old so it is a lot more time intensive, they'd taste quite different too meat of an old milk cow is far more rare to come by than veal by a lightyear just like with most animal meats, male hormones make the meat tougher an taste not as good, so most veal is young males slaughtered before puberty can't argue against the fact that dutch dairy cows still seem to have plenty of meat on them lol

Zoals we hier in Brabant zeggen "spulleke nie?".

  • Farmer Sam, hahahaha, well at least you've given it a try! Sad thing though is that those Cows only can produce milk when they've had a calf, which when it is a bull calf it will end up as veal meat in a restaurant on the menu. So just like with human ladies: they only produce milk when they've had a baby recently. So no human baby or, no cow calf, then no milk. And so drinking milk and eating Cheese made out of milk basically kills cows (baby cows that is: calfs). This is the reason why the vast growing part of the people switch over to Vegan milk replacements like Oat drink, or Soya drink or Rice drink, you name it! And that also goes for Cheese alternatives.
