  • And the moral of this story: Guys, always listen to your wives!

  • What a beautiful sad story... I love the scenery, the weather, and the voice of the young man and the crane... But one thing I don't like when the husband said: ''Crane, Please don't go away''.... It would be more loving when he instead say: ''My beloved wife, Please don't go away''... Probably his wife could change her mind....

  • I saw this story at school when I was in the sixth grade, and this story is very much like the Tooth Fairy. The reason the man was not supposed to look in the room when his wife was weaving was because to produce cloth, she had to turn back into the crane he had saved, which is like how kids are taught that the Tooth Fairy won't come unless you're sleeping, which is so they won't see that the Tooth Fairy's not real. If kids tried to catch a glimpse of the Tooth Fairy they'd only see that what they wake up to in the morning is the result of their parents sneaking up on them. I can say the same thing about Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny-the reason one has to be sleeping for them to come is similar to this story. But with the man's wife coming out thinner and thinner, could he have figured out that the reason he wasn't supposed to look was because to weave, she had to turn back into the crane, and would having figured it out the way kids figure out that the Tooth Fairy's not real have meant the crane had to leave him?

    • Suri A the original one is filled with death basically the guy saved the crane. Crane and him get married he get sick she weave clothes for money to pay for the medicine. He dies and she overdid it so crane died to

      @jacobtrang833@jacobtrang8336 жыл бұрын
    • Um, I don't think so. I'm assuming that you got to know the story through the Vocaloid song, and that song is 'mostly' based on one version where the crane becomes the wife, there's another version which is just old where the crane was saved by a 'married' old man and she started living with him and his wife as a daughter. The only version I've seen where the poor human gets sick and she needs to weave cloths to buy medicine is only the HitoshizukuxYama version and those two love to overdramatize and twist their fairy tales.
