Orange County first responders reacted quickly to an auto accident involving a driver careering off a cliff in Orange County, California, south of the Los Angeles area on Tuesday morning. A helicopter was called in to airlift rescue the driver from the area and LiveNOW caught it all as it happened.

Looking for something else, I ran across this. I have an adult daughter in Orange county who drives a similar car. Since age wasn't cited, I became physically ill watching it, but was soon after able to confirm it wasn't her. Praying for whoever the driver is.
Damn sucks that your daughter wont have a story to talk about like this driver will!

Make sure her car has calling capabilities so if she were in an accident and her phone goes flying but she is concussed or trapped in the drivers seat, the dash can “call dad” or “call mom” ❤️

The driver was probably distracted and shouldn't have been behind the wheel. I'd be curious to find out if she was texting and driving, regardless, you don't drive off a road if you are paying attention. Hope she stays in California away from our State, don't need idiots here.

Ever tried to lift a patient in a stokes litter with 4 people or even 6? It's awkward. Once the patient is strapped in they become "dead weight". It's normal procedure to have extra people down there. They may not have known until they got down to the car whether they needed equipment to cut the driver or passengers out... The expected result of a car going down a hill and impacting is more injuries than this lady has (looks like she has escaped serious injury). Usually knees into dashboard, feet trapped or caught under pedals, possible impact with airbag or steering wheel, whiplash, back or spinal injury, etc. If the cause of the crash was a medical episode then there would be further related treatment needed. If the emergency services need to lift the patient then you need extra hands to help pass the loaded stokes litter around and move it to where the helicopter can pick it up. Imagine if you have an overweight or obese person to lift All these factors you won't know until you are "hands on" assessing the patient ... Extra hands are needed. They may have assessed the situation and thought they could carry or move the patient up or down the hill using a rope or pulley system only to get down there and reassess. Sometimes the helicopter is busy on another call so you prepare just in case you need to do without it. So many things play into just how many people are needed to help. Better to have extra.
