  • Before the neon puzzle board, and before the Alphabetics board was lighted and moved to stage right, where the doors would slide open when it was about to be played. So many little quirks in the early episodes, but the show went to a different level and really found its vibe once the set was upgraded a little, and opposite words were disallowed in the gameplay (early April of ‘79). That’s when it started to get GOOD.
